Maintenance for the week of May 4:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – May 4
The maintenance is complete, and the PTS is now back online and patch 12.0.3 is available.

Is this really going to solve the spin2win issue?

It will be fun having Stamina Necromancers with 100% crit chance on an AOE skill under 25% health when combined with the passives of the Grave Lord skill line. :(

You have extra 3 m to dodge it, so dodge it. This is a reasonable change where you exchange range for more dmg.

aoe abilities being the best spammable in the game for stamina dps isn't really a reasonable change. the damage is too high. this is going to make bgs more miserable than they already are.

I havent tested it yet, 50% damage increase might be kind of too much but I think the damage of s2w was actually low, especially compared to the 2h execute. Buffing the damage and reducing the effective size actually sounds reasonable, though I cant tell from experience how strong the actual damage buff turns out

An aoe move should never hit harder than single target moves especially an aoe execute. This move needs to be toned down drastically I know it doesn't affect pve but this will make pvp 100% worse than it already is.

I might even join the spin to win crowd after this and I’ve been resisting it this entire time. *** the execute morph. 50% extra damage and it still has the passive execute scaling?

In pve, whirling blades can atm be considered a single target spam ability. On Nightblade for example. It is stronger than suprise attack.
I had 55k dmg per target in aoe with it. It is too damn much. This blows most ST spammables into the dust.

This is totally crazy. When is ZOS going to see how overpowered Stamina builds are compared to Magicka? Can you imagine if Impulse did this? Everyone would slot it!

What? Magsorc is the best spec in the game. And impulse does do this, good players already use it.

You can use Impulse for very specialized AoE groups, but you'll be a lot weaker against single targets. Steel Tornado is stronger, has more AoE, an execute and actually is not weakening your usual build. It is wayyy better for that role.

Impulse morph also has a 28m range. It is extremely effective.

From who? You can see that making the skill 50% stronger at base then keeping the 100% scaling on it is a mistake. No idea what made ZOS do this, they say this-
.We've now brought the base line performance of this ability into the same realm of our other Direct Damage Area of Effect abilities in damage, cost, and area coverage.

But when you have an AOE spammable hitting for much more then a single target spammable most of the time, eg, under 70% health, there is a real problem.

I am using the range morph. Very, very sparingly. I think it contributes a very slight amount to my super specialized tower defense group. But it just pales in comparison to Steel Tornado.
Ranged morph is also clunky. It's not instant but ground-targeted like Liquid Lightning. Not a huge deal, especially at range. But you won't fire it as fast as Steel Tornado.

SnB and Dual Wield stamblade with RAT here I come.

Yeah the execute will be getting nerfed at some point at minimum due to PVE.

Turn on auto ground target casting, elemental ring becomes instant cast.

Look, I get that. But do you really need a graphic to understand the math? I mean I can log on to the pts and do some dummy tests for you but not till tomorrow.

Mostly Reverb, current Whirling Death monstrosity, stam toolkit in general, Onslaught, DBoS, Master Dual wield, and the fun never stops. Sure it is on a NB which might not be the best option but it does replace all the bad nightblade skills with weapon and guild skills :D

It looks very strong in PvE, especially against high health boss targets where you can squeeze a lot of extra damage from the execute, but I think people are exaggerating its effectiveness for PvP considering there's other powerful AoEs as well. Maybe reduce the maximum execute potential from 100% to 50%, but compensate it with something else, perhaps give it about half of brawler's shield value when you hit a target with it (an idea).

This would help keep its PvE damage under control while keeping it good for PvP. Also while I see a lot of people focus on people thinking how OP whirling blades is on its PvP potential, I think brawlers potential is being vastly underestimated in comparison. On the PTS im getting over 9k shield tooltip values with it. And that's an AoE ability which does decent damage single target while simultaneously giving you a good shield every time you use it. I also don't buy the whole "Its hard to hit with" thing, I'm not having trouble landing hits with it, other players included. And then there's that Masters TH weapon to consider as well...

Edit: I should also add that Major Evasion is going to reduce a good chunk of its damage as well, but nothing reduces shield values other than Battle Spirit as far as I'm aware.
