Suggestion: Wayshrine pack, Skill Lines, Level 50 boosts in the Crown Store

I heard that they are selling "skyshard packs" in the Crown Store soon. I would LOVE to get a wayshrine pack & skill lines pack that work the same way as the "Skyshard unlock pack" will work. So for example you get all wayshrines / psijic skill line / undaunted skills your main character has already unlocked. It's still possible to get skyshards, wayshrines & those skill lines with normal gameplay so it's not a required purchase for people that aren't interested. However for people who love making alt characters, this would be a great bundle with the skyshard pack they're planning on selling. Another thing they can sell in the crown store is a "booster" item that lets you level to 50 / have champion points right away. Right now, with ESO+'s bonus XP and the crown store XP scrolls / psijic ambrosia in the game you can have a significant XP boost from killing things. This can be stacked with event buffs & training gear so you can power level within a day or two. If they make level 50 boosts available in the store, then you can skip power leveling in Skyreach or dolmens or zombie mobs in Alikr. In other MMOs like GW2 & WoW they already let you buy level boosts, so it's not a completely new concept. I think with Necromancer class coming out, these items would all be amazing additions to the Crown Store, and they're also all still possible to get in game through normal gameplay.

Well, it's been a thing to sell "jump to highest level" in WoW at least for years. I took advantage of it myself - after I had thirty level 90s (some of each class) and they had dumbed down the game to the point it wasn't really much fun. Then of course they came out with the WoD piece of crap and I canceled 7 accounts, leaving 70 toons sitting in the banks. That was in 2013; haven't ever been back and certainly don't miss it, though I do have family who still play.

I wouldn't buy any of it in this game, as I really love exploring on all my girls, getting the skyshards and wayshrines. So even if it shows up (and I haven't a clue whether it will or not) I wouldn't be utilizing it myself - so no money from me for any of that, ZOS!

If anything, I’d prefer trait unlocking (that has already been unlocked) and then I can (finally) safely delete my hated crafter character...which unfortunately also holds all of my achievements. Until then she’s just becoming more and more invaluable to me.
    And motifs.
And guild progress - Psijic *grrrrrr*
I’m never going to get rid of her! *cries in corner*

Well. I would agree with the level 50 boost. But it should be seen as a double edge sword. GW2 / WoW have it at a $60.00 pretty much the cost of most AAA games, not including to deal with an un-skip-able tutorial system.

If ESO was to implement it... I would suggest going

$60.00 for those who already have one or more 160cp Character on their account
$99.00 for anyone who doesn't have 160cp character on their account.

There must be a tutorial system - and extensive one (like 60-to-120mins to complete) - one that doesn't reward CP, EXP or Gear, but only the required Skill Points for the utmost basic of builds - all guilds / crafting / world / mounted skill lines should be locked until tutorial completed. Any and all CP that may have been gained on other toons should be locked out on the boosted toon until tutorial completed.

Gear Box would have to be basic White/Green Gear that matches to your highest stat choice: Health/Stam/Magicka - No set bonus or extra stats like; increased % in damage/exp/crit/etc.

Make it to were, if tutorial is completed or after 48hours of purchase = no refunds.
If character is deleted prior to tutorial completion or before 48hours = Full Refund**.
**Refund requires account to have Boost Coin on character select screen

All Boosted Characters will be locked to their appearance, faction and name for the next 195 days.

Make it to were it is truly a buyer beware situation. Is it a good deal, would it be worth it in the end versus leveling?

Yup, it comes with a mandatory tutorial on WoW. I also liked that it let me preview all of the characters at end game without actually using the booster, so I knew I wouldn't like specific classes based on that. I remember applying the boost and it honestly was great. Saved a lot of time, gave some noob gear, and it didn't make you get to end game immediately, still had to level to get there. Obviously for ESO the target buyers are people who already play the game and have other leveled characters so having a price difference for vets vs new players would work.

Oh no... here's the slippery slope we were worried about... :disappointed:

The devs already mentioned possibility of selling "skill packs" in the future along with the upcoming "skyshard packs", so why not wayshrines as well? I think the wayshrines being unlocked would make sense, and for those that don't want it you can still port to guildies or ride a mount to explore the regular way. The boost item would work the same as the XP scrolls we already have, just cutting time from Skyreach and other grinding people already do. I'm all for optional crown store items meant for veteran players making alt characters. With necromancer class coming out, a lot of us will likely make a new toon just to try out being a necromancer since we don't get class change tokens. These items would save time power leveling and ZOS would get money.

To all the people who were complacent and accepting of buying skyshards: congratulations...you are the pebbles that proceed the landslide.

If these things come to pass, and you can just pay your way through the game, you are to blame.

HOPEFULLY, Zos wouldn't go this way, but we know how they'll do anything if money can be made.

How are these items pay to win? You can already give in game gold to somebody to run you in Skyreach, or for skin runs and achievements. And you can already convert Crowns to gold through the crown exchange discord, where a zos employee is also in the discord. I don't see how being able to buy skyshards or wayshrine unlocks is pay to win, there's no advantage over someone who wants to get their skyshards regularly walking around the zones. I also don't see a difference between the crown store 's ESO plus permanent XP boost or the 150% XP scrolls and a level 50 XP boost, you pay to skip for both but one is instant whereas one requires more Skyreach grinding.

I'm thinking of all the threads of folks howling, right or wrong, about faux tanks or healers in trials. Sure, those who know how to play may benefit from having already raised 10 alts, and would love the passcode the sale would provide.

On the otherhand, there would be an avalanche of clueless wonders in q's.

But, if it's in capitalisms's interest, and the powers that be decide something is on the "not pay to win" side of the equation, it will certainly happen. Some of the posts for it are plausible, even possible reasons anyone could give to give a green light to Crown Storing a pack.

Technically, personally, I don't see this particular "thing" as PTW, nor a slippery slope. However, as the $ machine needs to be fed, and capitalism works best when the pot grows not just bigger, but faster and higher, The likelihood of what was once unthinkable being sold being sold, will be sold.

Yes, but the "those who don't want to can grind" (if I may paraphrase) results in a EA "we're gonna triple exp (or whatever) so grinding almost forces people to buy boxes" approach. They (ZOS) will get $, without doubt. I don't think it is PTW or a slippery slope. But I do think the "they can grind" is not only slippery, it encourages poor morals and ethics.

Please just stop (with the nerfomancing). We are all sick of people like you, no offense. Just play the game w/o gear or armor. You are going to die and scream anyway.

What then, becomes the purpose of playing at all? You need not EARN anything. You just open the wallet and presto!

    Lame....

*shrug* I already have 12 toons with undaunted and skill points from skyshards. When necromancer comes out, I'm sure I will try that too. I'm buying the skyshard packs when they come out so I skip the grind, I think having other things unlocked at the same time as the skyshards would be amazing for people like me that have to work a lot and don't want to do the grind a 13th time. Unless of course, zos makes class change tokens and lets me just class change.

I'd much rather Zos unlock account wide achievements and not try to milk everything for profit.
I'm not against having account wide unlocks from putting work in game...but putting work in game, then having to pay extra for things you've already grinded...

    Slimy AF.

This shouldn't be encouraged...it should be put on blast.

Or just class change tokens like in FFXIV (well, you can job change for free in that game, but ZOS would obviously take the opportunity to monetize it). Most devs argue that an MMO would die if people didn't have to repeat content on alts, but FFXIV is one of the biggest MMOs out there (most likely the second biggest, after WoW) and yet it encourages you to only play one character.

Depending on how many people buy the skyshard pack, you can count on more zone unlocks to follow.

Why do you care if someone else just buys everything?

Your experience is somehow diminished because someone else traded money for time? They get nothing more nor less than you at the end of the game, so why do you care what they do?

You have the option to spend the time that you feel is the only correct payment for progress, no one is taking that away.
Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.
