Possible Way to Stop Zergs?

What if to stop zerging when there are over X amount of one group in a spot they all end of getting some sort of debuff? like maybe after X many people are in the same area and a new person shows up it puts a debuff of some kind on? maybe make everyone in that group take more damage? So it goes from being impossible to kill an entire zerg to maybe having a chance?

Not sure this would work or not, im sure bombers would love it, and idk if the servers could handle this.

No.. but the real issue is ball groups spamming especially in heavy siege just sends latency screaming... also if you hit a ball group with anything expect to be in combat for 20 minutes... Zergs I have no issue with...the spamming tends to be scattered and lag is not as bad.. ZoS needs to change healing to get rid of the healing circles to stop the balls of latency generators... but this will not happen because of pve...

Orrrrr why not incentivize solo/small group play vs. punish zergs? I'd rather zerg than face player who somehow have unlimited stamina, unlimited health, and can somehow do a LOT of damage... not a lot of motivation knowing I can't take those down and that it's not a fun fight. I enjoy 1 vs 1 in Cyro, but not with those... tanks? Whatever they are. That shouldn't be allowed to happen.

I think big groups should get Aoe reductions for each set of 6 they have.

    1-6= 100% damage taken
    6-12= 75% damage taken
    12-18= 50% damage taken etc

Until you get 100% damage reduction.

Lol who thought of the original Aoe caps should be .... lol

The best way to stop zergs = negate and ultidump. 12 good players using VOIP can easily wipe a group of 24 with surprise. After the first raid is dead any other raids typically scatter.

ZoS doesn't want to stop zergs. Just looking at all the changes over the years ZoS is actually trying to push us into playing with groups and trying to make 1vX disappear. ZoS doesn't like 1vX PvP because it makes the players who get X'd feel bad and it ruins their immersion. The developers have stated many times that they want to make it possible for the bad players to be able to compete with the good players. That's why you see so many zerg friendly builds and abilities come out every update. I doubt we will ever see changes that would actually benefit solo players or penalize players from zerging. Even if we did the ESO community would reject it. Most solo players now play with at least one other person.

Well, most 1vXers specs are basicly find something OP and abuse the heck out of it. Most cries for 1vX help are actually requests to be overpowered.

Even if something’s put in the game to help against ball groups people complain that it effects them as well, like time stop.

I do agree that ZoS is encouraging grouping though. Someone mentioned inevitable detonation was nerfed, idk if that’s true because it was before I started playing if it happened. The lack of ranged aoe abilities definitely encourage ball groups.

I think necro might change that but imagine if their abilities are game changing there’ll be 100 nerf necro threads.

For all you kids who are claiming that all small scalers or 1vXers “run sets that make them unkillable but do a lot of damage”
    That’s called being good.
Not our fault you’re so bad at the game you don’t even know what a good player does when he 1vX’s you. Maybe you should learn the game and get some thumbs instead of sitting in a 24 man. Some of you thumbless zerglings crying on the forums about 1vX players you just show everyone how much of a mediocre and rubbish player you are.

Could you do the same thing in say shacklebreaker and julianos with only healthy, robust or arcane traits on jewellery, and only using maybe 300 CPs? Stuff a new player would use and have? If not, where is the skill you’re talking about.

You do realize most 1vX players run things like bone pirate, necro, bright throat, bloodspawn, troll king, skoria, lich, transmutation, hulking draugr, spinners, spriggans etc. All sets that starter players can also acquire.
Just because you’re some random zergling bot who gets 1vX’d on the daily doesn’t mean 1vX’ers run some nuclear cheese super meta unkillable set.

I run necro lich bloodspawn on my magden and 1vX Very efficiently
    Bone pirate spriggans on stamblade
Steadfast hero and bright throat on magplar
All these sets are easy to obtain.
Also if you run Julianos and shackle you’re just begging to get slapped because you have no defensive sets. Just damage and sustain. Honestly the fact that you suggested something as absurd as that.
Also good players like 1vX’ers use the terrain to their advantage and kite damage.
Another thing you thumbless zerglings don’t understand.
How about before you make comments as absurd as “d0 yOu rUn sHakL3 n jUliaNoz reee” how about you actually learn how PvP works and learn how skills work and how people actually use terrain and strategy to their advantage.
1vXers don’t fight in open field when outnumbered like some thumbless fish
Also if you think 1vXing takes no skill and people just run these unkillable sets how about you go and run these god sets and 1vX efficiently, if not then quit commenting like you know what you’re talking about

Siege should have a proxy det effect. Not much damage on 1-4 people but 4+ and it is drastically increased. This is perfect for splitting apart zergs

I used shacklebreaker on pretty every 1vX build up until murkmire. The only thing a newer player might not have access to is the CP but that's just one of those things. This is a MMO we all had to go through the low CP phase. No CP PvP is always a option. You can 1vX on basically anything. I'm currently 1vXing with armor master and spinner one is a craftable set and the other is easily attainable all my jewelery is arcane as well.

Honestly I find most 1vXers run similar type setups. Most 1vXers have to sacrifice a good deal of damage for mobility and defenses. As well as alot of my defense comes from just good positioning and alot of my damage I get from comboing my abilities. Its honestly sad that ZoS wants to gut solo PvP just because it will ruin a few players immersion. What I find a little strange is that it's really not the solo players running all the cheesy stuff it's usually the grouped players. Wether that be a 3 man zerg or a 24 man zerg.

@Minno did you truly like the siege change or are you being facetious?

I like where it is now. It’s a very strong supplement to skilled play, and aids a robust defense very significantly, but bad players can’t lean on it almost alone to skip two thousand hours of practice, gearing, and theorycrafting in order to push an I-win button.

The real way to stop zergs is to have a 4 second skill slowdown at Drakelowe when AotP and whatever AD faction stack fight at Alessia. Then you get to rage quit and play something else where you're not casting Merciless Resolve four times in a row to refresh it once.

OP's suggestion is pretty good except the fact that it adds calculations and has no in-game justification. Siege applying that debuff as a disease might make sense.... Siege right now is weak baring Coldfire and Oils, and Oils could probably be buffed.

Without siege shield I can stand in 1-2 oils no problem, 3-4 with, and 5-6 with also receiving serious heals/purges. 5-6 Oils is enough to maybe push people off of ram. Honestly oils on inner are not strong enough to justify the way you can set them up in most keeps which is by and large singly except over the door. (Over ram oils no one takes down usually prevent that placement.) Those 4 people could be rooting and spamming negates or stacking proxy-dets instead. You really need an excess of defenders to justify inner oils. Keeps need a redesign favoring defenders.
