Using SA at a poor time is the least of the users worries as it is a cheap ult that is up relatively quickly, especially on MagSorcs. Telling med armor to just block it, is disingenuous as it does not account for the complete lack of support for blocking in med and the negating of med armor passive from blocking.
SA does not have as widespread use as other ultimates because it is primarily effective versus medium armor builds, and less effective versus other builds. This leads to continued discrepancies in opinions related to SA.
The best change I have heard, and myself offered at times to the SA issue is to decrease the number of ticks and increase the damage per tick. This will yield the same overall damage but make it less punishing to block.
It seems like this ability comes up from time to time after long periods of not seeing it at all in death recaps. We then see a few randoms trying to hit the numbers and running it here and there but then it disappears again. Sure we'll see Ballista pop back up again as well shortly after.
It's a cycle of on again off again depending on how often people just LOS just for a second to waste an ultimate.
Soul Assault is a little too good against medium armor builds and yet rather ineffective against properly build light and heavy setups... it should have its damage reduced by 35% and then made to ignore resistances... this would be a buff against high resistance targets and a nerf against low resistance targets...
On the topic of soul assault the other morph shatter soul needs to be changed so that if the enemy dies during the channel the explosion is triggered as opposed to if the target dies precisely due to a damage tick from shatter soul... this would be a buff to solo players and a nerf to tightly packed ball groups
I honestly feel sorry when I hit a medium armor build with SA and they're helpless...like dude I'm medium armor and I completely respect your build sorry to cheese you like this.
jk but when I die to SA in my medium armor heavy armor hybrid build, it feels kinda cheap.
is there any legit reason to roll 7 medium armors or is medium armor build a blanket term that also covers people with 2 heavies with the corresponding medium bonuses for 5.

It is dodgeable. Only it isnt broken when it miss. So you can get hit (for example) by 2ticks, then roll, 3 ticks dodged and 3 ticks hit
I like that it's uninterruptible because it's a nice break from CC hell (ESO pvp at any other moment when not channeling SA or rite of passage)

When did Sa become uninterruptible?
I use it as my main damage ultimate, but I remember that it could be interupted by bash. Most ppl just go into deer in the headlights mode not knowing how to react.
I do enjoy that flame reach Sa combo. Gets me a lot of kills. Those 19k health bowtards melt fast.

My favorite part of SA is when you get TWO at once. Just start laughing cuz it’s over. Say a prayer in the couple of seconds you got left.

Two at once? This is the pvp forums, there will be no talk of assisting and teamwork. No tactics are valid unless you’re dueling.
Those two using it at the same time need to L2P.

I don’t mind it either, but it’s definitely a L2P issue on their part. Cyrodiil, Sewers, BGs... they’re all just different dueling venues where sometimes you have annoying zergs interrupt your duel.
