    In relation to mitigating SA:

    Heavy armor better supports block through, higher mitigation, higher health and healing received, and resource return not limited by block.

    Light armor offers Higher spell resists, increased mag recovery(not affected by block), increase spell crit(better heals), and a temporary health bump through absorb which allows for more universal burst mitigation. Magicka offers better burst heals across all classes and more healing potential with less direct sustain counters. Resource poisons affect both pools equally, however only stam recovery stops from block, and the only mitigation mechanic with a stacking cost increase is dodge roll which also costs stam.

    Medium armor offers increased healing from stam scaling sources(rally, vigor) through increase to crit and weapon damage, increased stam recovery, and reduction in dodge roll costs.



    SA is not dodgeable so reduced dodge roll costs does nothing for medium, blocking not only has a high cost but cuts off the stam recovery nullifying that benefit from medium, and stam heals are not strong enough to rely on powerful healing. Both heavy and light have significantly better passives for countering SA and as such feel little hurt from it.

    Med is fine against SA, IF the SA is used at a poor time, there is nearby LOS, they are only fighting 1 player. Using SA at a poor time is the least of the users worries as it is a cheap ult that is up relatively quickly, especially on MagSorcs. Telling med armor to just block it, is disingenuous as it does not account for the complete lack of support for blocking in med and the negating of med armor passive from blocking.

    SA does not have as widespread use as other ultimates because it is primarily effective versus medium armor builds, and less effective versus other builds. This leads to continued discrepancies in opinions related to SA.

    The best change I have heard, and myself offered at times to the SA issue is to decrease the number of ticks and increase the damage per tick. This will yield the same overall damage but make it less punishing to block.

    Plus light has snare reduction. Subtle but I like it.

    avoiding LoS is pretty easy, even if there are obstacles. just get close enough to cast it so you can follow them to maintain LoS.
    maybe it's that people have figured to roll penetration in combination with SA...

    Soul Assault is a little too good against medium armor builds and yet rather ineffective against properly build light and heavy setups... it should have its damage reduced by 35% and then made to ignore resistances... this would be a buff against high resistance targets and a nerf against low resistance targets...

    On the topic of soul assault the other morph shatter soul needs to be changed so that if the enemy dies during the channel the explosion is triggered as opposed to if the target dies precisely due to a damage tick from shatter soul... this would be a buff to solo players and a nerf to tightly packed ball groups

    yea or have give it an execute at the end, so if it ticks while the player is below 20% HP, it has a bigger tick or ticks more frequently for the same dps...all to increase the chances of it killing them...
    maybe a requirement of them dying in the last second of channel would be better? it just seem like their soul should shatter if the channel isn't what did them in, or at least pushed them over the edge.

    I honestly feel sorry when I hit a medium armor build with SA and they're helpless...like dude I'm medium armor and I completely respect your build sorry to cheese you like this.
    jk but when I die to SA in my medium armor heavy armor hybrid build, it feels kinda cheap.
    is there any legit reason to roll 7 medium armors or is medium armor build a blanket term that also covers people with 2 heavies with the corresponding medium bonuses for 5.

    Blanket term, or I’ve been using it that way.

    I wouldn’t feel cheap about it too. Just like how stamblade gankers and prox det are like a gear checks to make sure people are wearing pvp gear, SA is a gear check on the gankers to make sure they aren’t running all divines or something stupid for a crazy burst gank build.

    someone already hit it - but:

    pet mag sorc is doing extremely well right now. SA on a pet mag sorc is extremely cheap and effective. pet mag sorc has the mobility to negate the LOS issues and make SA even more effective.

    i'll be getting SA on pet mag sorc this weekend.

    That's what I mean by dodgeable. I don't care for the design.

    Prefer it be a soulbolt and be done with it.

    Quite some while ago. When dodge meta was at its peak. Think that was Morrowind, but not entirely sure. Reasoning was that ultimates shouldn't be so easily wastable.

    Checked it. Was One Tamriel. They also made it blockable then.

    My favorite part of SA is when you get TWO at once. Just start laughing cuz it’s over. Say a prayer in the couple of seconds you got left.

    I don’t mind it either, but it’s definitely a L2P issue on their part. Cyrodiil, Sewers, BGs... they’re all just different dueling venues where sometimes you have annoying zergs interrupt your duel.

    Just the other day I was in a BG dueling this chump, and a Zerg came in and interrupted it so I died. I got so mad I ran to the forums for more Zerg complaining. Probably used bleeds and earthgore.

    SA definitely sucks, I tried it in a duel and it didn’t work. This is a Zerg issue not that SA might sometimes work.

    Nah there’s definitely GvG game play to be had. Or GvZ if the comp is strong enough.

    Never shown a picture before, so idk if it worked, but 117208 SA tool tip, and this is on a hybrid build... meaning I could force it much, MUCH higher if I was interested.
