The 400 gem mounts were already disgustingly overpriced enough but now it's going beyond that and I haven't seen anyone say a damn thing about it.
Watch any crown crate unboxing on YouTube. $100-$150 isn't nearly enough gems to cover it so I'd estimate even with redundant APEX mounts which is incredibly unlikely, you'd have to spend at least $250-$300 to guarantee enough gems to guarantee enough exchange value to get this thing.
Remember when people complained about the Dro-m'Athra Senche for 4000 crowns ($30)? Well at least you knew what you were getting and now we're looking at people spending hundreds of dollars (thousands if you want multiple in a crown crate season I'm sure) to get a chance at these mounts. This is on top of quarterly DLCs, this is on top of yearly chapters which have deluxe/collector's editions at retail, this is on top of a paid membership where the game is a huge pain in the neck to play without. This is on top of the awful client and server performance issues. This is on top of the decline of content releases in general and lack of cosmetic rewards for actually playing the game.
Honestly this might be the straw that breaks the camel's back for me. I've been playing for five years now, I've seen the business model become more and more egregious and whenever I bring up any of these points, I'm labelled a freeloader despite spending hundreds of dollars on content releases and collector's editions.
inb4 "just don't buy it lol" which is exactly the kind of mentality that enabled this BS in the first place
Edited by AlexanderDeLarge on March 29, 2019 12:36AM Difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 10 years. 7 paid expansions. 22 DLCs. 40 game changing updates including A Realm Reborn-tier overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver&Gold as a "you think you do but you don't"-tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the vast majority of this game.
"ESO doesn't need a harder overland" on YouTube for a video of a naked level 3 character AFKing in front of a bear for a minute and a half before dying
