No one's talking about the 600 gem mount in the gambling boxes ($250-$300 to get enough gems)?

    • Parse Food for PvE:(DPS) Ghastly Eye Bowl (increases Max Magicka by 4592 and Magicka Recovery by 459 for 2 hours).
    • Gold/Purple Food for Sorc PvP and Meme Tanking:(PvP) Clockwork Citrus Filet (increases Max Health by 3326, Health Recovery by 406 [useful if stage 1 vampire], Max Magicka by 3080, and Magicka Recovery by 338 for 2 hours). Witchmother's Potent Brew (Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

It's the free crates and the fact you can now exchange in game gold for crown items. The prices really are getting high for some things. I am not going to encourage people to not buy stuff from the crown store. If people want to pay that much for that kind of stuff it's fine. But hopefully if the prices get too high and sales drop off the prices will come back down to earth. honestly though. I think the crown store has lot of really great value on a lot of items but some really bad value on some items too. Caveat Emptor.

Folks that subscribe get crowns every time they renew. ZOS needs to keep putting new stuff in the Crown Store, at least so that subscribers have something new to spend their crowns on. I don't think you need to own everything new that ZOS adds to the Crown Store. Just my opinion.

    I quite agree.

Technically, you don't ever have to buy a mount. Not even with gold, let alone crowns, as ZOS gives us a horse FOR FREE just for, you guessed it... PLAYING THE GAME.

And that horse is functionally identical to this spider monstrosity.

Moral of the story? You most certainly never need to buy a Crown Store mount.

I'm so glad I think all the "special" mounts are ridiculous looking and I've never wanted any of them. IF they ever figure out how to make a decent looking HORSE I may be in trouble.

I DO buy SOME of the things that are 16 and 40 gems. That's pretty much my price limit tho.

But yes, these things are staggeringly overpriced. And yet, as long as people keep buying them ZO$ will keep pushing the limits of our tolerance until they find the ceiling. So expect price hikes to continue... for as long as enough people keep buying. When people STOP buying they'll readjust the pricing but by then they will still be fabulously expensive pixels.

While ridiculously priced, I think the worst problem is that these mounts do not fit the Elder Scrolls theme well. The Dro-mahzawhateveritscalled lightning mounts were bad, and this walking toilet-pot with lava is equally bad. Looks like it came out of a steampunk game.
I'm not saying all mounts should be horses, but there is plenty cool stuff they can do that fits the ESO world better, like giant scorpions from Alikir, or young small silt-striders, etc..

Lol, and regular weapon styles for 200 gems per piece doesn't concern you? I mean those argonian ones were unique at least.. and now it's just refined dwemer style.. 200 gems for sword, 350 for dragon ride, 600 for fire toilet, OMG, ZOS is rolling down the hill obviously.

Their probably trying to make up for pushing those snot weapons motifs from the last crates, lol. The greed is definitely showing more and more. It is almost like they hired someone from swtor....

Voriplasm was the Dead-Water motif style with an additional slime effect. Not unique
But Dwarven Remnant isn't Dwemer, nor is it a variant of a motif currently in the game.

And no the price doesn't concern me. The Engine Guardian arms pack out this summer will be a more competitively priced bundle of Dwemer style weapons, so only grab a Remnant piece if you're going to use that style all the time.

The price is alot but honestly it is cosmetic. Secondly those who are willing to pay the price get something a bit more unique that not everyone is running around with which adds diversity. I would be upset if the thing was faster than other mounts or had something special to it but it doesn't.

Ill tell you why for one Zos is trying to make money and reward the people who support the game with a bit more than just monthly subs.

Two if zos put those as rewards they would be in end game vet trial content on hardmode like the new sunspire trial mount will have and I guarantee you people will see that mount and break down in tears on the forums because they cannot complete the needed content to earn the mount thus asking for a nerf of it.

I know for absolute certainty I wont be able to get it I am too much of a potato i dont have the dps i need and i dont even know the mechanics I cant even be able to get a slot for Vet Cloudrest for Z’Maja’s Shadow Skin but I accept that's how it is because im refusing to do what is needed to get my self to that level.

In relation its like Guild wars 2 Gen 2 Legendary weapons .. Gen 1 Legendary weapons were crafted but they could also be bought off the trade post Gen 2 when Heart of thorns was released said pretty much you want these shinies *You Have to Craft and do the Achievements* to get them.

Reality is its this simple you get out of it what you put in and truthfully not everyone is going to put in the 100% needed to get the items that other people are willingly to do as thus the busy bee gets the honey the early bird gets the worm ect ect.

Zos puts out plenty of consolation prizes so everyone can say they got something *Thanks for playing* but the higher tier prestige items are going to be reserved for people who actually put forth the effort and go that extra mile for the truly special stuff its just how it is and in my opinion it shouldn't change.

    1) How is upping the price from 400 to 600 gems and locking it behind bulls**t gambling crates rewarding "the people who support the game", its spitting on them for being stupid enough to reward ZO$' incompetence and exploiting people yet again.

    2) Also it doesn't have to be locked behind trials, dungeons or anything like that at all. The indrik mount was a pretty cool idea, (till they got greedy and ruined it by selling tickets), it could be linked to exploring all the Dwemer delves in each of the 3 faction zones, a quest like the precursor in clockwork city or something else.

You are correct it doesn't *have* to be locked behind trials but if they did put it as rewards it will be behind trials just like the new Sunpsire senche mount.

What you are suggesting is Zos forgo trying to do what they have always done which is make money lol and in favor of the people who aren't willing to put in the 100% effort needed to obtain such a purely cosmetic shiny just like that shadow skin I want lol.

@iiYuki "1) How is upping the price from 400 to 600 gems and locking it behind bulls**t gambling crates rewarding "the people who support the game", its spitting on them for being stupid enough to reward ZO$' incompetence and exploiting people yet again."

Simple Zos can probably assume not everyone in the game is sitting on 600 + gems just waiting for super shiny reskins to come out and the people buying these mounts likely know this game and im not referring to ESO in that regard im referring to the marketing game.

Its purely cosmetic its for people who want to stand out and feel special if they want to spend the gems or real life money for "*** gambling crates" to get the gems they will and zos knows it simple as that.

You can say Zos is spitting on them all you want.

If zos offends you some much with their marketing ideas and schemes I could suggest you find a different game but the likely chance of that happening is about as slim as Zos putting these 600 gem mounts for a easy PvE content reward that every role player can get. *It will not happen* lol

So end of the day you can disagree with me all you want say whatever you want about Zos and chosen marketing tactics the outcome is not going to change if it was they would have done it years ago.

So everytime someone makes 1 of these threads about why cant we get this super shiny purely cosmetic item for a lot less or for easy pve rewards that every role player will be able to do *because that's basically what your asking for* Someone like me hopefully will appear and explain it over and over till it sticks.

On the off chance it doesn't stick it will likely get toxic in here but be absolute certain of this no matter how many times people complain for these things to change *It wont happen*

The real question is, why won't they ditch Radiant crate rewards and just offer them for 1200 gems and be done with it. They'll get a lot more people to buy their crates, apparently, since people seem willing to purchase loads of them just to get the gems.
