Opinions on the Stick Mounts?

So uh why is everyone bringing up that having your character running as fast as a mount is bad/unlore friendly. I think you forget that you can reach the same speeds sprinting/sneaking with certain set ups.

It's a bit expensive, especially the dragon one. But someone posted a video on Reddit and it does look like hilarious fun. So I'm kind of on the fence about the horse one.

I really like it. I'm a little disappointed with the speed, I admit! I find myself frustrated and hitting H to mount and go faster only to realize I was already mounted. But the novelty effect is just too much fun.

Guild event tomorrow, stick cavalry in Cyrodiil. It's going to be glorious! Slow, but glorious!

Considering the fact your character actually CAN via certain gear sets, the argument is dumb AF

because now we can mvoe speed as mounted on character legs with just expedition buffs, sets/traits, potion and this is not weird how fast is moving our character on own legs and in combat while fighting?

remember cries on forum after added new traits to jewelry with summerset? swift train increasing your speed....people on cyrodil was running faster than mounts....so why stick with horse head called and in category mount is not giving us any speedbuffs like normal mount + to this I have noticed we ahve at all a bit slower/longer steps while running with this than running normally without mount so its animation is also done in was to look more normal with higher speed than buffed to speed af normal sprinting without any mount

tbh if we are talking about this....it is also sick how on full speed with only major speedbuff are our mount moving...if you can see just mounts have unrealistic animation with only his speed maxed and major speedbuff and you are talking about unrealistic running character with just stick pretending to be mount and who said this cant be magical stick boosting our speed like just many other things which I have mentioned? (potions, mediuma rmor, jsut buffs, sets, jewerly trai, mundus and cp barely but still)

Wow, when i first heard of the stick mount, the first thing that came into mind was the monty python holy grail bit. If people were expecting a same mount speed then its their fault. But seriously, if you didn't have a stick horse as a kid then the humor is lost.
TBH, they should go only as fast as your character not sprinting, its a joke/toy item nothing more.

The first thing I saw when logging in this morning was someone on a stick horse and it gave me a great laugh. I actually love it. That said, 900 crowns does feel a little pricey for what it is so I am on the fence. If they were no more than 500, I think I'd definitely buy though.

Why is that crazy? in a game with mounts made of lava and twigs? With magic everywhere? And when the company made zero comments about it NOT being a proper mount and have actually even said on their twitter that it IS a mount.

i mean, every single preview of the thing noted that it was a "Novelty Mount." we've never seen that word combination here, so i fully expected it wouldn't work the same as a standard mount -- just like novelty items in real life are often a step down in functionality from the thing they're parodying. honestly, i'm surprised at how surprised people are. it would've been fun to go full-speed on a stick mount, but every time i read about it that "Novelty Mount" part jumped out at me. i thought it was pretty obvious then that the joke head-on-a-stick item wouldn't work the same as a powerful steed. i am sorry you guys got your hopes all up like that. that's okay; learning to deal with disappointment builds character.

i still got my horse, and it'll probably stay unused, right next to my Bucket and Broom. we'll get through this.

The jump animation/sound and the space bar animation while standing still are really nice though.

I see the Zos gets working on in making scam stuff for players, intead of serius improvments to player base but scam pony skins and staff is ok omg

I'm happy with the speed not being mount speed but not using the stick while sprinting is disappointing.

I didn't want it until I watched it in person. Asked a player to show one off for me. Loved it. Got it.

i think its because its something really cool but not functional.

maybe too much negativity, but its like having a really nice car that doesn't move...its pretty, its cool, but it doesn't move...

Rapid maneuver works. Mount training - no.
You can use is as any other mount. Only difference if speed training.
It show as mount.

I'll be the guy who says it's not actually a cash grab for 900 crowns, tho the 350 crown gems IS whack.

If it WAS a cash grab - they WOULD have let you gallop at full mount speed, a lot more people would have bought them at 900 crowns because there would be no 'Pay to Lose' aspect, you'd see them EVERYwhere because they were just as good as horses, and the boards would be rife with threads for-evar about how 'full speed stick horses are breaking my immersion'.

This way - they will take in fewer crowns overal because most people wont buy them to replace a horse, the 'joke' is maintained, the common usage of them will wain, and they don't have to arbitrate nasty purse-swinging threads about them.

Just my opinion, feel free to disagree all you want.
