Opinions on the Stick Mounts?

So... the stick mounts don't actually run at your mount training speed, and when you sprint your character doesn't even use the stick mount and just puts it on their back. The dragon will cost 350 crown GEMS (yes gems, not crowns) and the other two mounts cost 900 crowns flat. So what is everybody's opinion on this?

Me? I was looking forward to this BIG TIME but I was going to use it as a full time mount on a joke character, but... not now with that.

However I did have the idea that okay maybe I could use this on my farming character because she sprints faster than most people's mounts, but no... the animation for sprinting just has the character put the mount on their back, so I couldn't even have that fun.

For 900 crowns and especially 350 gems, I find this to be a bunch of crap. If the stick mounts were more like 300 crowns or something, to closer match the 50 crowns for the broom and bucket (a total of 100 crowns) then it'd be much more reasonable, but 900 crowns is the same as a fully functioning but older horse that's also in the crown store and 350 gems is just beyond stupid in my opinion.

I'm fine with how they work. It would be nice if you still used it when sprinting but it doesn't bother me that you don't. But they do seem expensive for what you get - 900 crowns is the same price as an actual horse.

(I'm not surprised that the dragon is expensive however, crown gem exclusive items are always over priced.)

900 crowns is a price for a normal horse, not joke one. I thought that they'll cost no more then 500, and that already would've been expensive for a joke item like that.

Exactly, if the prices were more reasonable then I'd understand they made it work this way, but they're priced as fully functioning mounts, the dragon is only 50 less gems than an apex mount.

Disappointed is the word I'd use.
The White Mane Horse cost the same as the Guar or Horse Sticks but is a fully functional mount as opposed to cosmetic fluff with no real purpose other than a cheap laugh, which is short lived upon finding out the sprint animation doesn't even utilize the stick mounts at all. It's insulting honestly and a flat out cash grab. If they were like the Bucket and Broom with very reasonable prices, then maybe I'd have been tempted to pick them up but as they are, it's not worth it.

Didn't expect it to run as fast as any other mount, because obviously, it's just a broomstick with a stuffed head.
Didn't expect it to cost more than 200-300 crowns, because obviously, it's just a broomstick with a stuffed head.

Only one of those happened however, which is the problem.

Plus it could have been a magical stick with a stuffed head and tail, but no ZOS took the most boring and the most ripoff route they could with this.

Might have been better to call it a memento or something similar. There are expectations from something labeled as a mount and this does not meet those expectations, especially for the cost.

I think the idea behind it is fun, But dont call it a mount if its not based on mount upgrades. Call it a walking Stick because thats all the speed youre going to get out of it.

Edit: Would have been nice to know it wasn't a real mount, I wouldn't have bought it.

I don't think 900 crowns is too much. Well, I'd prefer to see dragon for crowns too, but ok, I just won't buy it.
They are great. Both look and animations. And, imho, it is right decision about speed.

Memento are useless. Mounts can be used as mounts, even slow one, and also for houses.

I'm happy with it. It's good that the stick mounts function the way they do. The games atmosphere would be ruined if they worked like real mounts.

Clearly they are just cosmetic joke items. I really don't understand why people are getting all butt hurt over it like holy smokes lighten up pls & thx.

was about to buy it..but now I know how it work and Im very dissapointed
I wanted to use this all the time instead of my others mounts!
but as this dont work even on sprint...then nty, I wont have time to use that crap so I wont even think about wasting my money for something which Im sure I will have no use and will not use

I think it's ridiculous that in a world where magic exists in abundance, these stick "mounts" are limited to our base running speed, when it could simply be implied that some kind of enchantment or something had been used on them to make the player run faster during use.

It's lazy, it's disappointing, it's a waste of an idea that would have been a lot of fun had it been allowed to access our mount speed. Overall I keep wondering what the heck the people who made it were thinking when they decided it shouldn't be like any other mount that is equally as expensive.

I had planned to buy one, but knowing what it really turned out to be, I won't be at all.

I agree with this 1000%, there's no reason they couldn't have been fully functional, immersion doesn't exist in this game so that excuse is also shot to Hell. It's just the most disappointed I've been ever in a item I was looking forward to buying.

I'm happy with the speed not being mount speed but not using the stick while sprinting is disappointing.

The folks that expected to put a stick between their legs and run as fast as a horse are crazy. And if it was a "real mount" it wouldn't be anywhere near only costing 900 crowns. It is a bit cheesy the dragon one is crown gem only since this is 'pay to lose' merchandise though.

Why is that crazy? in a game with mounts made of lava and twigs? With magic everywhere? And when the company made zero comments about it NOT being a proper mount and have actually even said on their twitter that it IS a mount.

So I gather putting a horse made of ice between your legs and expecting to...well LIVE is equally illogical, right? Or how about riding a lion or a giant wolf without being eaten alive?

This is a world where magic exists. A stick enchanted to make one run faster is the very least you could expect in it.
