How do you deal with Cyrodiil lag?

Honestly I have just gotten used to it mostly. Today was especially bad. And it really is ONLY this game, I tested my connection to 10 different games today, results are as followed for the EU servers.

    WoW - 36 ms
    GTA 5 - 66
    Anthem - 21 ms
    CS:GO - 65
    Doom - 17 ( ALSO IN FRANKFURT )
ESO - 200 ms seriously WTAF
GEARS OF WAR - 40 ms
    Guild Wars 2 - 27 ms
    Lol - 23 ms
    EVE - 21 ms

There is something SEVERELY wrong with these servers that are competely on the side of the ZoS servers, no 2 ways about it.

Ill repeat the minimize addons comments. It helps alot

There is another addon (forget the name) that let's you set up different profiles for which addons are on.

I have a profile for Cyrodiil, one for trials/dungeons and one for pve questing

All I have active is AUIs extrended quick bars, that is -it-

And tell me how this is possible

I improved my ping(bandwidth) to where I'm at 100-140 range outside Cyrodiil and sit 200 in a fight in Cyrodiil after pulling cable as well. See no difference. Can have the same ping from one moment to the next and stay right at 60 FPS as well but the delay shows up at only 1. Its server lag.

P.S. I'm still not seeing anyone say, "go to the forums and ask for nerfs" when that clearly is a popular pastime.

change for eso optimalization to NONE - let eso run "raw" also u can go to process manager > find eso process > change prior > above normal.

there re other topics about INI file and it also helps > sometimes ping isnt that deadly as game lagging itself by loading 20 players zerg. > i have two diffrent setting for PVP and PVE

PVE - MAX QUALITY and rarely i drop fps below 50-52

PVP - *** quality with only view on half.

simple: avoid prime time (or when all alliances are pop locked), avoid ball groups, avoid big battles.

the lag in eso pvp is an absolute game breaker so solo and small to medium scale out of prime time is usually best.

and wow, those ball groups man! They know they significantly contribute to or even cause critical lag yet they still do it. Maybe that's why, cos it certainly isn't clever, skilful or challenging gameplay!

None of the other online multiplayer games I enjoy perform as poorly as ESO so I get my pvp fix playing those. Wasted hours of my life tweaking my system to get this game running at an acceptable level. I've tried all the "fixes" and setting optimizations to no avail. I even upgraded my isp from ancient 3mb/s dsl to 100+ mb/s cable about 2 years ago and guess what happened? I mean, surely that had to have been the problem, right? Wrong! Absolutely nothing improved and it's only continued to go downhill since.

Its FULLY on the side of zos servers. I did the same as you, was dsl, moved to cable 1gb connection, and still getting 200 + ms lag , when in every other game its 60 and under usually.

Opening ports is an old solution and with modems and routers now adays is completely pointless. I have done the port trick, didnt do anything, the only thing that even remotely helped is a trick you have to do deleting the dev logs every great once in a while. The fault lies squarely on ZOS shoulders, no one else.

I play on PC and not much PVP these days. I do venture into Cyrodil and the Sewers as well as I.C. with friends and have only experienced lag when encountering large groups. But, most of what I was experiencing was due to all the addons I use for PVE.

So I turn off just about every addon except the Minimap and I don't experience lag as I have seen on Twitch streams. My FPS drops to 30 to 50 in large groups (taking Keeps for instance) but nothing like I see Console players suffering through in Live streams. I really have no idea why anyone on Console would continue to play ESO for PVP when their frame rates are like watching a slow motion slide show. It's not fun at all.

ZOS does need to run the game on servers that can handle millions of people and I think they are not doing this.

If there are a million subs out of the IDK...15 million players....then that's $15 million a month on average they are taking in not counting all the other game purchases, Crowns and so on. Surely with that much money coming in each month they can afford some heavy duty servers to run this game on?

I just stopped caring about it, just zerg around and spam healing AOE's. They'll never fix it, 90% of the time it isn't the fps that's the problem its the network lag and latency it causes because ZO$ like taking money but not spending it on fixing the game.

The problem is the connection to the eu server in general, and also partially the us one. Whats the point of 60-120 fps if you have a quarter second lag or more at all times?

On Xbox, hard reset your Xbox and clear your games saved memory. I also go to advanced network settings and clear the alternate MAC address. This will fix the lag for approximately an hour or a bit longer. The trick is to do it before there is a q because most likely you will be kicked out of Cyrodiil.

prime time is not for no reason....guess what...why there is prime time during online games playtime? becaue in this time there is most people with free time for playing so your simple "avoid prime time" while playing is big af invalid option for many

The lag sucks, everyone knows it, but try and remember that it is truly 20or 50 vs 50 or more players at the same time in the same place, can you name any other game does that?

The lag need to be fixed, but for now you can find peace if you acknowledge it exists, and play around it. It means you need more burst damage, use line of sight, use siege, know that the other person has lag too. Can you use lag to your advantage? It’s not perfect but we all play because we love the game. I hope they’re able to fix the game engine more and more in these updates. Honestly I feel like it’s a little better compared to years ago, for example ground cast abilities go off a bit better now. So hopefully, slowly, it will get better

    yes, gw2 and wow

for gw2 Im 100% sure they ont have such lags even when 3 blobs will meet (50 vs 50 vs 50) where I was here and I had no any bigger lag problem like I had in eso in just maybe 20 vs 20

about wow now Im not sure, ut when I have played I remember bg's for 20 vs 20 or 40 vs 40 and also had not even noticable change in performance, everything was clear like in place without players

while in eso we know hot it looks even with just small numbers of players around so I hope I dont need to explain how awful lag is in eso

ZENIMAX, when ever do you fix the KICKS and the LAGS in Cyrodiil? Holly ***, every greater fight I get kicked, and not only me. Cyrodiil feels like a cheat as such at the moment, because the question of victory and defeat is no longer a question of knowleg but a question how many have been kicked during battle. And best is, I can't relog in the game, before the rest of the group took the entire Keep. So YOU steal all my AP. THANK YOU FOR THAT GREATEST CHEAT EVER! Fix it or cancel PvP, because it's no longer a matter of patience but a matter of anger. You have had 5 years and more to fix Cyrodiil, but don't do it. Stop that ignorance now, my patience got limitted to wait every *** patch note, seing nothing is done, even if you said it is.

Lol, this reminded me of one of the best voice acted lines in ESO:

"Oh no, I'm not drunk enough for this!" :D
(shouted by some of the Windhelm guards when they witness a criminal activity)

I have played this game since beta and remember doing Cyrodil for the first time, anyone who played back than remembers the bat swarm at the very least. It had lag than, it will always have lag how to deal with it is either become an alcoholic like many of the regular players in there seem to be OR become filled with hatred and bitterness, the last least recommended option is let the lag consume you and become one with the lag.

Finally a problem I can help with, and a great question.

"How to deal with cyrodiil lag?"

    Two Simple Steps --->

    1. Uninstall
    2. Repeat step 1 when you decide to reinstall and try the game again.

    Hope this helps:)

    Heyo
I came back to give feedback.
So I was having some horrific lag, I decided to send my computer to service.
It seems like it was some overheating problem.
Because while it was in service, I played ESO on a much lower spec pc yet not that bad lag.
Unfortunately random loading screens still exist and some basic lag and freeze happen but not even every hour now.
Maybe think about this option too, it really helped me
