How do you deal with Cyrodiil lag?

No, this is not another 'OMG FIX THE LAG' thread, don't worry. I've recently started playing Cyrodiil because I'm getting a little tired of BG. I started on Shor (PC EU for the Pact) but that's not the best since there's hardly anyone on, so keeps are taken with less than 10 ppl. So I started on Vivec, and wow the lag is insane, I mean I get that when 100+ players are all zerging around it's gonna be bad, but I 1v1'd a player with no one in sight, and I was at under 20fps and 200 ping, it meant half my abilities didn't go off, even when giving them a while to work, and then my Dragon Leap took several seconds to actually go off, hitting the guy's storm atronach (ffs).
I have a high-end PC with above average internet, and run limited addons, anyone got any tips on how to reduce the lag? Much appreciated!

From what I've read of others' experience, not being a PvPer myself, you need to lower your graphics settings and disable any trading addons when in Cyrodiil.

there is a 1% chance cumulative per player for the lag monster to spawn. once spawned he cant be killed so just run away or log off.

Sorry to say, but you can do nothing against the server side lag. Sure, disabling some add-ons helps with stutter/lag issues on your side but it comes down to the servers (and PC EU in particular) not being able to cope with the game. Literally nothing you can do besides biting your keyboard or logging off. It's a shame.

Lowering your graphics and running minimal addons helps with the lag. You don’t need ultra settings for pvp. People will just say log off and whatnot, but if you really wanna pvp, ignore em. I get 200-300 ping on busier days, and it only really spikes when it’s a full af keep fight. Like 2 whole factions are fighting.

How are you guys running with that low of FPS? That would drive me nuts and why I tone down the graphics a little. Not that it will help because you will just hold frames while the ping to ESO spikes.

And it doesnt matter what you are fighting where you are at. If theres a war with a faction stack, you'll feel it on the other side of the map.

Im not palying in Cyrodiil till it gets fixed. And alot of my firends do the same and their firends as well wich basicly leads alot of dead campain in time.

PC EU in particular? Is it worse than other megaservers?

By playing less PVP (PC EU Vivec). Motivation of going to Cyrodiil is waaaay down (since the end of January) when the lagging often prohibits reasonable playing.

I mostly deal with it by the game disconnecting on me, and then I respawn either at the wayshrine or dead. It's really fun. There's swearing involved. Very exciting. It's like CC that the server lays on you, because apparently zos developers think CC is awesome.

I think zos owe me about 2M AP at this point.

I don't do cyro I just do bgs. but I cant play much because I work 50+ hours a weeks so its hard to get burned out when your play time is at most 1 to 4 hours a week depending on what going on, on my off days

There is another addon (forget the name) that let's you set up different profiles for which addons are on.

I have a profile for Cyrodiil, one for trials/dungeons and one for pve questing

I've just stopped going, its impossible to play it properly. You would have more consistency in casting and combat rolling your face across the keyboard.

When the lag starts to get to bad to play... i log out and play another game or do real life stuff. It's not worth it to get frustrated by it.

I first try to fight as far away from the large battles and then when that never works I am forced to log off. It's frustrating but the game is usually unplayable, even fights are bad enough with nothing at all working but as a solo/smallscale player it's made worse by the fact that the large groups/zergs are basically unafected by lag since they can just spam light attacks and melt you while your break free and heals don't even go off.

PC EU in particular? Is it worse than other megaservers?

I haven't played on NA. But from the numerous threads about the abyssmal performance of PC EU and my own experience I can reasonably expect that there is no worse server than PC EU.

I stopped playing ESO mostly because of Cyrodiil being unplayable. Just got tired of constant disconnects and 300+ ping.
So the only fix is ALT+F4.

theres nothing you can do. Its a broken server that zos refuses to fix. Shameful. You can reduce it slightly but when it comes to vivec or prime time you're in the same boat as 99% of all other players in there. But everything is working as intended.

Oh, my favorite in Cyrodiil lag is that it completely messes up with all immunities. I just love it when I dodge roll out of an immobilize, only to end up immobilized again in the middle of the dodge roll - the immunity never catches up and applies itself.

I also love sticking needles under my toenails and then kicking my toes to a wall. It's about equally painful, compared to Cyrodiil.

Even non-CP NA is declining due to the lag and its demoralization of the player base.

It is simply NOT acceptable to be in a keep fight and not be able to swap bars for 6 seconds or to cast heals (forget about waiting for a potion to register!) before either being lagged out or rubber-banded into a death screen filled with attacks that never animated.
