Reworking vet dungeon final boss loot and undaunted keys

So, just making a suggestion but I think vet dungeons and the keys awarded on vet dungeons and their hard modes could use a little rework.

Some of the harder dlc dungeons like scalecaller and march of sacrifices, it can be hard getting a good group together to farm weapons and purple jewelry. And not to mention the hard modes can be extremely difficult to complete for most players if you're wanting the extra key. Sometimes the hard mode isnt even worth the extra key

Can vet hm dungeons reward a jewelry piece and a weapon/shield like how vet trials work? If it's not a hard mode, you get a jewelry piece or weapon but if it's hard mode, drop 1 of each, makes the grind a little more bearable

I dont know how zos would rework this but most of the dlc vet HMs are difficult to complete most of the time. I would suggest rewarding more keys or something like that cause most of the time, my group just completes it on normal or regular vet just for the 1 key cause doing the HM isnt always practical and we would rather just get the fast clear

    Most dungeon gear is garbage. Dlc ones are no exceptions. Getting two set pieces sn't going to incentivise people to do Moon Hunter Keep hardmode for example.

    I don’t know if even that is enough extra incentive for players that don’t even want to learn mechanics.

    Pledge day is the best day to run Scalecaller and Moonhunter Keep. After that, if players need the gear that bad, they’ll find a way to get a pre-made group.

    Yea I agree but healers want jorvulds for example and farming the staves and purple jewelry is challenging for most people

    And I was referring to the hard modes for a weapon and jewelry drop and rewarding more keys for the hard mode

    But overall, hard modes for most DLC dungeons are not worth the trouble

    Would it be excessive for vet DLC HM’s to drop a piece of gold jewelry? Then you would at least have a good chance for a chromium dust.

    I don’t think there’s much difference in length or difficulty between these or something like vAA, which guarantees a piece of gold jewelry.

    I suspect that ZOS's current line of thinking is that you get a motif that can sell for a hefty chunk of gold in the DLC hard modes... and the motifs are indeed a nice carrot, except...
    • Last year's dungeon event completely obliterated the motif market for the Hist, Horns, and Dragon dungeons
    • Upcoming Anniversary event will probably bomb the market for the Wolf dungeon motifs
    • Motifs aren't a motivation for the newest dungeons since they are made available only months after the dungeon is released.

    While working on getting the Relentless Raider and Depths Defier achievements (nodeath, speed, and HM in the same run), if someone died on the final boss, we would immediately wipe and reset the dungeon.

    There was just absolutely no incentive for us to recover and finish the boss fight, since at most we get a handful of gold and maybe a few purple mats from decon. Now, if there was a better reward--e.g., a couple of pieces of Undaunted Plunder or a piece of gold jewelry or even an apothecary satchel--then we'd have a reason to actually finish the fight before resetting the dungeon.

    As for HM, the bonus reward is in the motif drop.
    Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

    They can just change the keys to a currency and allow you to buy set pieces from containers (random if need be). Different dungeons can award a larger range of currency to purchase things. Normal Fungal Grotto 1, 5 widgets. Vet City of Ash 1 on hard mode, 12 widgets. Vet Scalecaller, 30 widgets (55 on hard mode). Random shoulders can be purchased for 10 widgets. Specific sets for 25. Specific set + trait of choice, 100 widgets. Add other things like older monster set outfit styles for sale and even dungeon themed furnishings.

    Of course those numbers are just off the top of my head, but you could then have a wide range of difficulties that all reward you appropriately for your efforts. There would likely still be a best effort to widget ratio, but it wouldn't necessarily be Vet FG1 anymore.

    Imo dlc dungeons on hm should drop gold quality item unlike base game.

    No offense but it seems wise to run with people you know when doing harder content. So what they pointed out is correct and this comment seems more like an excuse.

    Agree - if you can get gold items from vAA, vSO and vHRC, then it's reasonable to get gold gear from vet DLC HM's

    Yes! Exactly! Motifs are part of the incentives to get people into doing hard modes..and then they give the motifs away for free a few months later...once i get all the achievments im usually not going back in that dungeon any more (well maybe for set pieces, but damn sure not for hard mode and a worthless motif). I wish there were fewer events - quality over quantity - and no motif rewards. Rather gold mats and so on.

    I think that we should be able to find gold jewellery in every dungeon, DLC or not, in the hardest configuration possible (veteran hard mode), of course. Just like trials.

    I was thinking about this recently. When there's a pledge for a dlc dungeon i want to clear, i want to queue for it for the monster helmet, but then i know they're going to want to do HM and 99% pugs cannot do that. it's sad.

    I stated in my thread purple jewelry. I'll leave the gold jewelry to the pvp vendor and through jewelry crafting

    I hate grinding for purple jewelry cause it only drops from chests, final boss, and very rarely, ad pulls, and whatever named jewelry drops there are. Also the same situation for weapons. It can be disheartening to constantly get jewelry from the final boss when you need the weapon

    If they reworked hard mode, then I'll be happy knowing i can expect a weapon and jewelry drop

    And besides pledges and achievements, why would anyone be activating hard mode? For the challenge? Not really, considering if you're farming, you just wanna clear the dungeon as fast as you can for efficiency

    I'm really not suggesting much. Just asking for a rework to reward hard modes for dungeons so they're more worthwhile if you're farming it.

    And for rework on keys for hard mode for the dlc dungeons

    I also understand most of the dlc dungeons do drop guaranteed motifs on hard mode. They are dropping in price fast for most. So I guess this is subjective

    unpopular opinion here, i dont mind doing vet dlc hm for fun. it includes a lot of death and is very fun as long as the bosses dont start bugging. also i am against golden jewelry in vet hm of non DLC dungeons.

    If vet dungeons are too difficult, assuming you have Summerset, why don't you do it on normal and then upgrade the jewellery to purple?

    I should imagine that Summerset will become a dlc when the new chapter comes out, and the skill line will wither be given for free, or can be bought separately with crowns, or gifted for gold.

    If I want a set I farm normal (unless its a really easy vet dungeon) then upgrade to purple with my crafter.

    Making DLC dungeons hard mode pay out increased rewards for clears would send the message that paid content is more valued and respected than the free base game content in some peoples eyes. And if you were to make every dungeon drop more jewellry or weapons for hardmode clears then we could undoubtedly have people grinding the hell out of vFG1 for things like mastic or zircon. That would *** off the mat sellers. It's a ticklish subject. As for the keys, well a key is a key no? You can run dungeons on normal on multiple toons if Hardmode is too time-consuming.

    Motifs arent bound, dungeon dlc loot is. Hardly see the use and a cosmetic over the utility. Also increase the transmutation gem drop from vet dlc hm.
