Cyrodiil's Crest - How do you feel about this set?

What do you think about this set? I know all proc sets can't crit (right?), but this set seems so amazing by numbers alone:

Tooltip reads:
cc-tt.png
With just Major Vitality, I got the heal to:
cc-heal.png
With Minor Mending, Major Mending, and Major Vitality I can get the heal to ~22,000

And it only requires a quick block.

I still see this being about a ~8,000 heal in no-CP with Major Vitality (Blackrose Resto). Something my Magblade healer desperately needs to get out of execute range when my ultimate is on CD.

Ever since this set was revamped a few patches ago, I've recommended it for tanks learning and progressing through difficult content.

Good set that allows build diversity, balanced in my opinion.

I don‘t get your post though. Are you subtly complaining about the set or about Magblade? First you‘re neutral about it, then you supposedly make it look op on a heavylie modified spec, that can capitalize on the heal - which most classes can‘t.

I can see why. The conditions seem so small compared to many other sets with more stringent requirements.

Checked the tooltip in no-CP and it's around ~9,200.

Tested it out briefly in BGs. With 30,000 health and no Minor/Major Vitality or Mending, I jumped from around 15% health to 33% health (an 18% jump or 5,400 health).

So about a 7,000 heal or so with Major Vitality (close to my guess above).

Just imagine if it could crit lol!

It's amazing, though it's too much to use it on regular basis, but if you feel that in particular encounter heal is insufficient, snapping it on completely change the game. IMO it's best selfish tanking set in the game, better then plague doctor.

I love this set for tanking axes in VAA, VHRC, and many DLC dungeons where you take a hard hit to the face and perhaps don’t want to rely on a healer. (VSCP, VMHK, Some bosses VMOS, etc)

I’m sure it’s also okay for learning some other trials; but I’m a healer main and don’t get (yet) much opportunity to tank other trials as we have much better tanks than I in the guilds I’m in.

It is good up to 4 enemies but after that I’d take Resilient Yokeda- but for our purposes, it’s very good for tanks who are new, or who can be selfish for certain encounters.

Basically I found a set I like and exceeds expectations from a tooltip. I figured I'd share how awesome it is and yes I will be running it on my Magblade healer.

If this comes off as gloating, complaining, requesting nerfs, "beating around the bush", having an agenda, etc. then I guess you can just pick one and go with it lol.

Apples and oranges though I might say.

That set has a requirement of damage and enemies to stay in a specific area to provide a HoT (used to be really great when it could crit).

This set is a quick block and a self burst heal, something a few classes are in need of.

Lol I asked about this set in the Templar thread. Definitely seems to help cover mnb self-healing weakness.

I haven't used it but you say it can proc on a DoT? Doesn't it block off blocking only?

Yeah I don't fully understand how you can successfully block a DoT. Perhaps he means the initial damage from one.

If you like crest then you also might like hist sap in PvP, especially since it procs on snares/ccs/other disabling effects and as a mag you are pretty much permasnared anyways.

Apologies, that's my naivete to assume that DoTs could be mitigated by block. Have they ever been able to?

The conditions for the heal were greatly improved when they updated that set for sure. In no-CP, I feel that the heal is underwhelming though. I also have tons of HoTs - it was the self burst heal that needed coverage.

Really enjoyed Cyrodiil's Crest on my Nightblade back before the Major/Minor buff system was introduced
the healing debuff it provided stacked with Soul Harvest making it pretty comical to attack tanky characters

conceptually like the new set bonus more since the ability to stack healing debuff was removed
it is nice that it rewards situational/timed blocking with a powerful survivability bonus
but have not actually made use of my set since the change, despite having gold jewelry and stuff for a couple years
