Depths HM 2nd phase - Purification

Went to start doing attempts on HM. Can get to 2nd phase now much easier but all death logs show ability called "purification" on them as a slow ticking dot it seems. Is this just a group heal check <Group wide non purgeable dot> or is it something were missing? <Too slow on orbs? Some other mechanic?>
For the big circle that applies the heal debuff is that a stacking thing or no? It hurts a solo player a bit reduces heals and simply goes away so we didn't stack so we didn't spread whatever debuff <Tried to purge and it doesn't work>, but it does have that "Large AoE stack inside" look similar to MHK. Saw the three orbs which we figure is either a hint <Three orbs three players> or just fluffy animation.

✭✭✭✭✭Purification: Ticks every 5s. We haven't found a way to avoid it. The damage seems to increase with time, and we haven't found a way to reset the damage. Combat Metrics reports it as Oblivion Damage and the icon is that of Oblivion Damage, but both are incorrect--the damage is NOT Oblivion and it IS possible to shield/mitigate it.
Meridia's Curse / Curse Expiry: The growing AoE that explodes with a stun. It's just an annoying burst of damage and stam drain from the CC break. You can shield/mitigate it.
Decrepify: The boss casts an ability with a 2.4s animation where it plunges all of its swords into the ground. At the end of this cast, every player except the tank will receive a 5s debuff called Decrepify. This debuff defiles the player and virtually zeros out healing received. It also applies an Oblivion Damage DoT that does 10% of your health damage per second. And it applies a mild snare and possibly other effects too. As far as we can tell, there is no way to prevent or avoid Decrepify.
Note that Curse Expiry and Decrepify are separate and unrelated. It is often the case that the two will line up and Decrepify will go out at the same time as the explosion, which is why we initially thought that the explosion was what applied Decrepify. But this is not the case, and the two are unrelated.
We initially though that vDoM HM was an unexpectedly easy HM, and it is, if all you want is to just clear HM. But as we are discovering, if your goal is to do HM deathless, it is actually pretty difficult, particularly if you get hit by a combo of these three things at around the same time.

Haha, yes. Seeing as how I've seen Purification ticks reach as high as 16K in a battle where the player has to deal with a 100% defile and 2K Oblivion DoT ticks from Decrepify, I certainly hope that the bug is that it's being incorrectly reported by the API as Oblivion rather than it being incorrectly dealt by the combat engine as non-Oblivion.

Quite certain. I just rewatched the video of our trifecta clear from the tank's perspective, and he never got Decrepify and I can see his health moving up during the periods when the rest of us had Decrepify. ✭✭✭✭✭After reviewing my event logs to verify that Decrepify doesn't hit the tank (it does not), I noticed something else: the Decrepify DoT is scaled off of your max health. Specifically, it does Oblivion Damage equal to 10% of your max health every second for the 5s duration of the effect.
In other words, Decrepify will do damage equal to 50% of your max health, and since you cannot mitigate, shield, or heal this damage, if the effect goes out when you are below 50% health, it's basically a slow-motion death sentence. Fun stuff.
