Cloudrest Execute Baneful Mark Change: Intended or Bug?

Until this latest patch, it was possible for the main tank (the one with taunt on Z'maja during execute) to out-range the Baneful Mark by backing up away from the center of the room. Now, even if that tank is the furthest person from the group, the Mark still is applied to them every debuff cycle. Previously, the mechanic seemed to be that the six closest group members would receive the debuff. So it would seem that it's been changed to now target the five closest people plus the person holding taunt on the Shade of Z'maja. Is this a bug or is this the way the mechanic is now intended to work? Could we get some clarification on the change? There was no mention of Cloudrest Trial whatsoever in the patch notes so my groups have been understandably caught off guard!

Propagate✭✭Yeah this was super annoying. Changes like these should be documented if they are intended. If this was not an intended change I hope a hot fix is on its way soon.0

irswat✭✭✭✭the original method of dealing with baneful mark, before the outrange cheese was discovered, was to swap out the group tank for the main tank when the main tank gets baneful mark. However, bone surge synergy, or major vitality pots, should be enough to counter baneful mark so long as the healer is doing their job layering heals and if there is a blood altar synergyThe Lord Jesus Christ saved me from sin and darkness.
