Add unobtainable weapon/armor styles to the outfit system! (With pictures)

It's great that ZOS has started adding monster set styles to the outfit system, and they are also planning on releasing Abnur's, Lyris's, Sai's, and the Prophet's armor/weapon styles as outfits! However, there are still a lot of unobtainable armor/weapon styles in the game that could be added to the outfit system (not costumes please, because that limits customization). This would be a great move from ZOS because:

- it would add more customization options and increase the game's longevity - it would only reuse already existing assets, thus being low-effort and low-cost to implement as outfit pages - it would satisfy people who have been asking for a way to get a style version of these unique armor/weapon - it would provide incentive to run old content again

Which armor/weapon styles would you be interested in? Would you like them to be outfit pages, or crafting motifs as well? Should they drop from the content like current trial and DLC dungeon motifs, be linked to event tickets like the companions' outfits, sold on the Crown Store, or some mix of these different methods of acquisition? The list below is not exhaustive, there are many more of course - which styles would you most like to see return?

Some examples of the unused weapons and armor that would make great motif/outfit styles:
armors1.png
Lich/Worm's/Hircine/Reach Winter styles

armors2.png
Refabricated style

armors3.png
Asylum/Maelstrom/Master weapons (aka the unused 'Tier 5' racial style)

Edit: I found this image of item models from 2015 of all things, and it lists many of the unavailable ones!

Love the Inventors guard style, I just wish it had a hood that didn't have a mask! So many cool hoods in this game that I wish had "optional" masks instead
    Legends never die
    They're written down in eternity
But you'll never see the price it costs
The scars collected all their lives
When everything's lost, they pick up their hearts and avenge defeat
Before it all starts, they suffer through harm just to touch a dream
    Oh, pick yourself up, 'cause

Inventor's Guard and Master Architect both use the same Light Refabricated style. The mask difference is based on your gender and race  :

Ah that explains it. I'd love to see the refrabricated style as a motif/outfit.

Here's a selection of other already-in-the-game models. What's interesting is that they are adding the Abnur Thran outfit style (which was already in the game in 2015 as the image shows) during the Anniversary Celebration this year, perhaps hinting at the possibility that they will add more of these outfits in time - such as Almalexia's or Queen Ayrenn's!!!

Other hightlights (check out the full image from 2015 above) include Huntsman masks and Mummy wrappings, Jester hats, and something called 'Artifacts' which could hint at the upcoming PVP artifacts since Volendrung is clearly visible!

The mummified Redguard NPCs in Alik'r use those wrappings  Don't remember where and what they are called, but you can see three of them being summoned by the Yokudan Totem memento for example!

I am not positive so cut me some slack here; isn’t it the Ra Gada motif? Ignore if I have misunderstood. I’ve just been playing in the Alik’r all day so thought that might be it.

I meant their face wrapping since a poster asked about whether you can see the wrappings ingame  It's the same mummywrap that you can see in the image above along the other unavailable armor styles. Couldn't find a better example other than those mobs, just wanted to show @green_villain that while they're not available to players, mummy wrappings are already in the game, not just in the game files.
    Sylvermynx wrote: »
    Ra-Netu?
And yes, that's what I thought too, but many mobs labeled 'Ra-Netu' are just basic zombies without any wraps, so I didn't want to point anyone towards them only to find that the mummy wraps I promised are not there at all
Here's a mob called 'Consecrated Whirlwind' that seems to wear the mummy wrap outfit:
    600px-ON-npc-Consecrated_Whirlwind.jpg
Anyway, I'm hoping they'll add more items like these to the outfit system, the pic in my edited original post shows over hundred unused armor and weapon models. Some of them, like Lyris', Sai's, and Abnur's are returning so I was hoping that would be the case for many of the other flavourful styles already in the game as well!

I'm not sure what's up with Refabricated.

In late 2017 (or was it early 2018?), the motif was added as a drop in Halls of Fabrication, and the the achievement for learning all the motif chapters was added to the achievements for Halls of Fabrication. The motif was numbered 53. You can even read the motif book here.

But all this was on the PTS. It was pulled and never made it to Live. Number 53 had also since been repurposed for the Tsaesci style.

It's the strangest thing. No reason was given for why it was pulled. The Cloudrest trial was added in Update 18, and its motif, Welkynar, was made available in Update 19. Halls of Fabrication was added in Update 14, yet its motif will not be available in Update 21.

    Indeed!

Yeah, some of those were done as costumes (Reach winter comes to mind)... but we -really- could use them as "outfit styles" (as in, partial styles, since reach winter shares the same weapon visuals with the normal reach style as I recall)
I am not positive so cut me some slack here; isn’t it the Ra Gada motif?
The Ra-Netu mentioned here are those Alik'r mummy things, and to make them they added mummy bits. The rest of their stuff would be (indeed) some normal style... (Tho the Ra-Gada stuff came with Craglorn, so it prolly is just some of the basic redguard stuff I would think)
And as mentioned, the craglorn "Anka-ra" warriors (those clay soldier things) do indeed use the Ra-Gada motiv instead, but no mummy parts I suppose...

I agree that "all of the above" would make for nifty outfit options!!!

There are several others as well... things we have as costumes, that would make -great- addition to the outfit system. Like...
...the Dark Seducer costume Who wouldn't like to use parts of that to mix and match (and avoid -those- shoulderguards?)
    ...the Golden Saint costume
    ...the Imperial Chancellor costume
    ...the Mannimarco costume
    ...the Nedic costumes
    ...the "Alliance hero" costumes
Heck, pretty much -every- armor-visuals costume!

Another thing that would be neat was more head options. Like... allowing us to add -every- of the "hat2 costumes to the outfit system, so we can tie a costume hat to an armor set without having to change it "by hand"...

In that spirit, why not also allow us to add hairstyles to the outfit system, so we can for example wear out hair braided for the "War Wizard" outfit, but long and flowing for the "psijic sage" outfit?
And... how about makeup too? So we can have normal makeup as "sage" but add some warpaint to the war wizard outfit? Again, without the extra step we would have to take to change those by hand?

Another thing I would love to see for the outfit system would be "bound weapons" visuals. As mentioned elsewhere:
Hmmm... bound weapons... as outfit motiv?
Now -that- is a good idea!!!

An "etheral weapons" motiv series, various styles of weapons made of mystic energy... they could do multiple flavors, purple-black dark magic weapons, red-brown blood magic weapons, cyan-blue ghost magic weapons, white-gold holy magic weapons, greenish nature magic weapons, blue-white ice magic weapons, yellow-orange fire magic weapons, blue-purple lightning magic weapons, grey-brown earth magic weapons...
    Jim_Pipp wrote: »
It would be great if they were invisible when sheathed, so your weapons appear as you draw them.
Yeah, so the effect is like you conjuring up the weapon to use!

Like i said, it would be nifty, and I would certainly buy that for my crowns!

One other thing I would love to see is taking some existing motics, with added recolor and FX, like: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/444785/make-stabbings-great-looking-again ;)

Sounds very weird, why just add it to loot table?

My shock was the briarheart belt with the tassel. yes its handy to show if on briarheart or VO but its an unique style

https://eso.mmo-fashion.com/motifs/ list the non craftable styles top right.
its a bit mixed up with outfit styles and the upcoming styles for new dungeons.
Grinding just make you go in circles.

I’d really like to see some more big, badass, templar/knight brawler styles. Like the Imperial heavy shoulders are pretty cool but they’re just so outdated looking and I hate the diamonds hanging off. Or the skin changer cuirass is pretty cool. So much of the armor is kind of flimsy looking, delicate or just *** sticking off in weird designs/directions. Very excited about the upcoming BGs Storm Lord swords and axes though.
