    If the stacking issue cannot be fixed, then they need to rework the skill. It's been a long time coming. Too long.

    Thanks for your opinion. What's your source for your understanding of the real problem, and linking that to wider lag issues? Intrigued on that, or are you guessing..?

    Stuns from stealth aren’t a class-exclusive thing. Anyone can take advantage of the snipe stacking bug. Hopefully it’ll get fixed, or moved back down to the last unlockanle snipe skill like it was before to at least stop the sub 50 campaigns from going so wild with vet players using it on newbies

    It is laughable that some honestly believe that using Snipe should be a valid reason to ban someone. Even more laughable to think ZoS would actually ban someone for using Snipe.

    Everyone on the receiving end hates this skill. The health desync is a real issue. I suspect that it is tied to cast time and the ability to have several snipes in the air before the first has hit. I have also heard that some players actively glitch the skill using emotes, but I don't know the exact details.

    My suggestion would be to rework it entirely so that bow has a functional spammable and the toxic aspects of snipe are removed:

    -lower the damage by around 40-50% so that it is in line with other spammable ranged dps skills like crushing shock, warden birds, elemental weapon, etc.

    -make the range consistent with other ranged spammable abilities. Lower the travel time as well so it hits as fast as crushing shock and doesn't sail through the air forever and track opponents around corners like a heat seeking missile.

    -remove the cast time entirely. Make the skill instant cast.

    -lower some of the extras the skill offers. Perhaps remove the range bonus of focused aim and change the defile on lethal arrow to minor defile instead of major.

    I think with those changes bow would be in a healthier place. Ranged ganking would be less effective because of the reduced damage and inability to have 2 or more projectiles in the air before the first hits. It may fix the desync issues due to the lack of cast time. Bow dps would be more viable in pve and pvp.

    Some people have suggested making snipe a rapid fire channel, but I think this would kill the skill and make it the ranged equivalent of rapid strikes, which almost no one uses. I think instant cast and much lower damage is a better solution.

    Another complaint is the stun from stealth, but that's a stealth mechanic not a snipe mechanic. Light attacks will do the same thing. The issue here is the high damage, stacked casts, and stun. If the solutions I suggest above aren't enough, I would look at the stun from stealth mechanic next.

    Thanks for your input. My point still stands, if something is bugged, and folks use it Whats the view.

    My mate got banned when TBS gave him 2 mundus stones permanently and he had no idea. Folks got banned when they leap Into keeps accidentally with a bugged skill and so on...there is precident

    While I have no faith in zos policing anything at present after the rife boosting In MYM event i find it laughable that the people who use the skill come to this thread with some sarcastic salt.

    Quit asking for minor defile on it people! The class that uses this most has access to major defile already and you will only buff the ones who open with snipe then close in.

    They need to start giving out compensation for when they destroy builds

    Just spent 300k and a month grinding a NB to use as a snipe build and now the skills being destroyed
    I had a DK and they ruined that as well. Either that or let us change class. Costs a fortune having to regear after each nerf

    My source is common sense. Really don't need a spread sheet to see an obvious sync / lag problem. It's been going on this way since release. They may gut snipe because you are salty, but that is nothing but a band aid on a much more serious issue.

    I'm annoyed by the issue, but what I'm annoyed by is the REAL issue.

    I sincerely hope they fix this. I have no problem with the skill when it works, But it doesn't. A lot.

    Funny thing is Dark Flare is essentially the same skill with a cast time and travel time, but I never have any problems with Dark Flare hitting me with big desyncs.

    I don't think it's completely removed, I see plenty of people magically decide to dodge roll ONLY when i happen to launch my crystal frags. You guys still using these addons/cheats think you're clever but you're REALLY obvious.

    Afaik that addon still works as long as you’re in combat already

    The API was removed that allowed the addon to announce that you were being targeted before combat had actually started

    But again that’s assuming the fix worked completely, and we’ve seen the track record

    Just redo the skill where it fires a strong single shot from a long range that is as fast as lethal injection but lock the skill out for 1.5-2 seconds after firing.

    Snipe and your 300k build will be “destroyed” for you if ZOS fixes a toxic bug that causes players’ health to drop to zero without them even realizing that they’ve been hit with a skill?

    Word to the wise: don’t build a character that relies on a bug to get kills. Build characters that earn kills legitimately.

    Sorc shields weren’t a bug, though. They were merely overperforming. You couldn’t actively glitch shields. The health desync is a bug, and some Snipe spammers manage to pull it off extremely consistently... so consistently, in fact, that I’d be VERY surprised they didn’t know exactly what they were doing.

    The thing is only nb can do this.
    Not everyone is nb.
    Dk, sorc, plar and warden have their own crutch for pvp, removing cloak will make nb the laughing stock in pvp.

    All skills can potentially do this sometimes. Snipe does it regularly and it’s very easy to get it to do so. You can almost count on it.

    How on earth have you twisted this into an anti sorc chat? That's hilarious. What a stretch.

    They looked at wards through balance, as people, mainly new players, struggled to counter.

    They are looking at snipe as it's BROKEN. A bug. A health desync. Comparing wards and snipe is laughable.

    If you want to compare in a more relevant manner @TequilaFire at least compare overload. Overload was the sorc snipe tool, our only ganking option. And it was working as intended just strong. It go nerfed, through balance, as people were salty.

    They aren't just looking at snipe because it's strong. They are looking at it because it's broken.

    Man the forumblade strength is strong.

    Don't even get me started on how broke Fear is and we all know it lol. And hey, want a sorc example there? Rune cage. It's break free was as bust as fear yet it got 5 nerfs and no one uses it now. Fear is untouched...

    Wanna compare apples to Pears, lets roll. But this thread is about snipe, which is bugged, and we ALL happy bar the people exploiting it that its getting fixed.

    Snipe and your 300k build will be “destroyed” for you if ZOS fixes a toxic bug that causes players’ health to drop to zero without them even realizing that they’ve been hit with a skill?

    Word to the wise: don’t build a character that relies on a bug to get kills. Build characters that earn kills legitimately.

    This ability is so bugged and unhealthy for PvP gameplay, I think it should get a total rework or be removed completely. Or the damage drastically reduced / turned into a DoT that constant spamming of Snipe doesn't get rewarded.

    All skills can potentially do this sometimes. Snipe does it regularly and it’s very easy to get it to do so. You can almost count on it.

    Absolutely, the folks trying to link this purely to lag are having a laugh. Sure lags can do this. Snipe does this REGULAR. Spot on.
