Healing Ward feels unfinished

Are you serious? My healing ward heals around 22K+ (crit of course, but its very reliable) away from a keep in Cyrodil... 3 sec means I just have to roll and its a guaranteed burst heal...

Not sure that's a good idea...for my enemies at least!

But but what about the way it was, with a 1.5k heal on cast, surely you can't survive without that.

For me it was around 5K crit and with mutagen on I could tank a zerg by spamming the ability in light armor until they did enough damage at once to kill me or it lagged and have my hp rise every time I used it.

With the changes to how shields work, blackrose restoration staff, and more healing sets and proc sets than in the past. I can honestly say I don't want healing ward reverted or the initial heal back. I can't honestly say that it should come back and pretend it would be balanced in this environment; it won't be.

Even if most of my characters are LA users with resto staves, I have to be honest and say it will be too good if not downright broken just from shields inheriting resistances. And when that happens, ZOS will nerf all the mag classes/builds to compensate for the change to the point the nerfs outweigh the benefits.

To me, the initial heal on healing ward is a small price to pay for that not to happen. And yeah, I have mag sorc, mag nb, mag templar, mag dk, and mag warden. Also hybrid ones. All of them use cloth armor, and I still don't want that initial heal on healing ward back.

Split the morphs into one that gives the heal upon expiration (current iteration of Healing Ward) and another that only gives the old initial heal.

Those who currently like the delayed heal will be happy. Those who feel the initial heal is more important will also be happy.

No one will mourn the loss of Ward Ally because it's a crap morph that wasn't used until the alternative was decimated.

    Everyone wins!

why do you think it would need to be split?. ourside of templar and warden Rally and Vigor blow Magicka heals out of the water, particularly for self heals. healing ward was really the only worthwhile self heal most magicka classes had. No, it doesn't need to be slit between morphs.

Believe me, I would LOVE to have the old Healing Ward back. Don't get me wrong.

But ZOS firmly believes it was overloaded with effects, and they don't walk back on balance decisions, so I'm just trying to give reasonable suggestions that could realistically be implemented at this point.

Thank you for your points. I am sure in the right (wrong?) hands it would definitely be OP today.

Do you feel the skill being the way it is now feels complete? I feel most classes miss out on the full benefits of it in it's current state.

I don't know about that. they where probably worried about the blackrose (or whatever) resto staff. because if the skill itself was overloaded Rally would most definitely fall into the same category. if the blackrose resto staff is indeed why the gutted healing ward, then they should change the staff not the heal that's probably the same reason they removed minor mending off of swallow soul, and it's rather foolish approach.

Just give us a bone ZOS or at least some magicka heal outside of resto staff so we won't be bound forever to destro/resto...
