Dear Zenimax, What are you not telling us about EU servers problem?

I've been experiencing lagg too, it's currently not that bad. Some days it's unplayable though.

I'm located in Europe, platform Xbox One, EU server.

Restart usually works pretty well for me.

In PvE land i have 50ping.. primetime Vivec in the homebase and it goes to 200+. Actual in a fight in Vivec and it becomes 350+.

Usually i log off when it goes to 200ping. Somewhere between 4 and 6pm?

Alright, since your catching on anyway.

The EU server hamster is getting old and really can't run that well anymore, he still wants to work and we don't have the heart to tell the poor fella he just isn't up to the task anymore. We are currently in the process of building a new hamster wheel power connection so he can live out the rest of his golden yrs working thinking he is helping while a new hamster comes in to power the server but these things take time. We have to remodel the whole adjacent room so Mr EU hamster won't catch on to the plan.

    I will take insightful please

Yes the game is unstable, many basic features (group finder, travelling into group instances, pvp, trials) either don't work due to bugs or are so laggy at times that they are unplayable.

ZOS are aware of these issues, they have to be, people complain about them on the forums all the time. But they don't respond to these bug reports, they barely acknowledge the existence of half the issues we have to put up with while playing.

It has reached the point where I am doing trials with my guild, and about 1 in every 5 instances has much higher ping and feels very laggy compared to usual. It's not just one person, but an entire raid group who get this. Bosses don't do animations properly, or if they do, they are so lagged out they don't match with their abilities being used.

The EU server is in a sad state.

It’s like, same rotation everyday after work.
    1. Login
    2. Queue for cyro
    3. Play 5 minutes, then you ask yourself what you’re doing with your life, and what you did that you deserve to suffer like that
    4. Go pve land
    5. Queue for BGS
    6. Get into a match with 2 premades and your team has 3 total players, 2 of them using green gear of random stuff they got from Prophet main quest
    7. Die to werewolves dual wields and perma snares
    8. Call it for the day
    9. Try duels
    10. Now you lag on duels, great

    10/10 game

this literally sums up my day, every day. *** sad.. at least i play on xbox so i can usually play something else on PC while i try to wait for enough people to log off so its a litte less laggy. Patience and hope is wearing down.

Me and my friend both have no regular performance issues. However, we live in Frankfurt, so that could be a reason.

I really have no idea when it comes to technical stuff. Is it possible that a server has a varying signal strenght ? Like, different distance when it comes to connectivity. It would make sense that the US have a stronger server in order to cover a greater distance. While they felt EU doesn't need that, because the relevant countries here are rather close together.

Today on pc eu : went into Sotha Sill for hopefully a less laggy experience.

Didnt work out. Skills just dont work even when the ingame fps/latency were both fine. I wasnt the only experiencing this either.

But hey... who cares? New crown store items, new dlc! Buy them now!

that doesn't make sense though, I have friends who live in Germany, close to the EU servers and they have crashes and experience the same lag and issues as those of us living in other parts of Europe.

You say that you have no regular performance issues, but do you regularly do veteran trials, dungeons, pvp at prime time, etc? Because someone who quests or does content where a bit of lag won't be noticeable, I can understand that you wouldn't think the game had issues.

'Stronger' servers in this context do not exist. Network traffic travels at about the 2/3 speed of light. A larger country has a bigger problem introduced by laying longer stretches of cable, which adds to roundtrip latency. i.e. NYC to SF is about 2500 miles as the crow flies, which = about 20ms latency (4×106m / (2×108 m/s) = 2 × 10-2 s = 20ms). There's an overhead though as cable is not laid as the crow flies, instead is laid in existing conduits alongside roads and railways etc. Add another 5ms for that overhead to get 25ms trip time.

London to Frankfurt is about 500 miles, or 4ms latency The rest of a packet's latency is time spent at routers etc. So we seem to have processing induced latency.

I have great latency on eu. 40-80ms constantly. Note: I only pve though, I never go to Cyrodiil.

Only difference with me is, I kinda gave up after 3rd point and now haven't even logged in for a week.
Withdrawal signs are minimal though. I suffered more when I quit coffee.
