When we compare Elsweyr's announced features with Wrathstone (Q1 and Q2) to the first two quarters of recent years, the gap only widens further for new content:



For the sake of brevity, basic chapter content that always gets added each year is not included. This includes stuff like new houses, new item sets, delves, a new trial, numerous bug fixes and improvements to existing systems. Rest assured, if such things were added to the chart, they would be present for all three years.

In order to catch up, 2019's last two quarters are really going to need to bring some big new whoppers. Even then, they'll be up against some of the last two year's Q3&Q4 heavy-hitters, like Horns of the Reach and Murkmire which each brought lots of new base-game content themselves. I truly hope ZOS makes good on their word of making ESO's 5th anniversary its biggest year yet, but they're running out of time for their actions to match their words.

Sadly, no. Chapter is different from DLC, but according the previous chapter like Morrowind, it'll downgrade to DLC after 1 year. So, Summerset will probably be the next dlc after its 1 year released, then Elsweyr follow the same path I guess.

I agree it looks a bit thin by direct conparison, and perhaps just not very interesting to me, but I'm hopeful there's more to announce before release.

The problem here is, who would have hold back on announcing major features when pre-purchase already has begun?

They didn't come up with anything substantial for Morrowind or Summerset after the big announcement. We basically knew all that was coming right after the official announcement stream.

And in comparison to Morrowind and Summerset the upcoming Elsweyr is very shy on new/major features. Or to say it better: it offers nothing but a new class on the feature list.

Altough I'm also concerned that the new features are less then the past, and I'm glad it gets attention, I'm looking forward for performance improvement (the one they mentioned in the Announcement), if it will deliver it will be a better "feature" then anything new (I know it shouldn't be a special thing) . I didn't pre-purchased yet, I need some more footage before deciding.

Those things are not (major) features, they're prettu much the basis of every expansion/Chapter.
