Dungeon Finder not working!!!

Add my husband, @FrancisCrawford, and me to the list of “group formed...someone declined...you will be placed at the top of the queue” failures. It happened over and over again until we finally gave up and duo’ed a few dungeons on both NA and EU. On the first one we did, I should have received my first three tickets of the day when the final boss died...but no such luck. On another one, I was doing the quest, but it bugged out (no skill point received). And of course, we got no mysterious boxes since the random group finder didn’t work for us.

So we signed out — I could be doing many other things rather than wasting my time on bug after bug after bug!

To me, this is one of the most offensive things ZoS has ever done.

• ZoS promoted something -- random dungeon rewards -- with reckless disregard as to whether it could actually deliver them.
• There is no excuse for a technical problem this important, of this kind, to last this long.

My reasoning for the second point is:

• The difficulty is obviously load-dependent; some subsystem times out under heavy load and returns a failure message that it shouldn't.
• Problems of that kind can usually be worked around via extra servers and a load balancer.
• I can't think of a likely source of an inescapable bottleneck that would defeat load-balancing.

Most likely there's a much easier, simpler and cheaper solution than load-balancing. But if ZoS can't make that work, then it should take the load-balancing route instead.

I experienced this issue tonight. Could not get into a queue (normal or vet) with a group of four or three or solo. Was able to get into a queue, once, in a group of two. It was for normal, one of us was a tank, and we had just both switched to different alts and got in on the first try.

I am hearing everyone saying that they experienced last year but I had no issues with the event last year.

Please fix! This event is so much fun when Dungeon Finder works properly!

I'll add to the the thread. A friend and I were trying to queue with my character as a healer and hers a DPS. It just kept saying someone refused the invite and sent us back into queue. *cries*

So queuing in a group was a fail for 1.5 hours. Queued solo on my tank and queue popped instantly and worked first time.

Coincidence, or is only group broken?

Still broken, as per issue described on first page. This is wrong, Z-max. At least extend the event a few days AFTER YOU FIX THIS MESS so we can get our Undaunted boxes.

I didn't have this problem last year either. (PC/NA)

It is happening to me too. I first tried with just me alone, and then got stuck in an infinite someone declined loop. I did notice that when I was trying to leave the queue, it seemed to stick a bit and it took three attempts at trying to leave (with pop ups asking to go into a dungeon coming in between) before I got out of the Queue.
For extra info, I am a PC NA player, who commonly uses an Xbox controller with ESO streamed to my main TV via steam link.
I doubt any of that would be a contributing factor, unless the xbox controls are somehow epically glitched.

I have not been able to join a group at all for event today. I tried , once earlier tonight, and again just a few mins ago , solo queued the first time, and grouped with a friend the second try, both times getting the 'someone declined' message. This was on the NA server.

Same here 4 people in group. Says forming group and then says someone declined, though everybody presses F to accept.

Was happening to my group and another full group in my guild.

Also it was taking a while to leave Que as well.

Same problem. Almost 3 hours with different combinations of 2 and 3 people and never made it into a dungeon. We tried queuing and porting in to a dungeon manually while in queue, as some in one of my guilds suggested that works (it didn't).

I remember this being an issue last year, but at least I eventually got at least one box per day. I couldn't get a queue on any of my toons today. Oh well. At least I half expected this.

Yes, however they are certainly aware of the problem and still haven't fixed it. It should be addressed now especially with the event just starting. It will only get worse.

I woke up and then in the guild chat my friends are talking about the queue finder to be broken. I queued while decorating my small house and I got in within 5 mins as a DPS.

Something must be off. But I will still leaves this here for those who are still waiting. Just keep pressing your luck brothers and sisters.

It is the EXACT same problem that happened last year during this event - cannot load into a dungeon instance using group finder with a full group.

The problem is almost certainly caused by the server space being filled when people are trying to join - I suspect the servers can only allow x number of people in a dungeon instance at a time and therefore everyone else trying to join gets put in a loop when it is full - it is a server issue and happended last year too - just allocate more server space and allow more dungeon instances.

I have missed out on the first day of rewards due to this. I got my event tickets by porting into spindle to do a quick run, but I have missed out on possibly 28 reward boxes across 3 accounts because it's borked and can't put me in a dungeon. I hope something will be done about that, and to catch me up with reward boxes that I have missed.

This honestly might be the last straw for me.

I love ESO. I am trying to remain optimistic.

But the fact that a whole event was based around a buggy system which hasn't even been fixed despite being broken ever since it was released (and caused the same fiasco last year) in addition to the other bugs and the lack of communication from ZOS is making it really difficult to justify remaining subscribed.

Yeah, it's not about finding a group at all. It's even broken for full premade groups. It just fails at creating the actual instance.

I tried with a 4 man group, all correct roles, we kept getting the "someone declined the invite" message too. Queue still not working hours later. This is ridiculous. There is no other way besides the queue to obtain the Mysterious Reward Box, which can contain very cool things, but if you cannot enter a dungeon through the queue, no Mysterious Reward Box. I have to admit, a few hours ago I was more positive, but it's getting past my need for sleep and it's still not working correctly. I made it into a dungeon through the queue, and partway through the dungeon my game crashed. This is exceedingly frustrating. I am so disappointed yet not surprised. Which is sad.
How can you hype up an event this much without making sure the game can handle the additional players you are deliberately trying to attract with the event? Well, obviously you can but I really hope there's some sort of compensation for this issue later. Like an extension on the event to allow for making up what we could not obtain today due to the game's issues. I, for one, am going to sleep. Making it partway through a dungeon and having the whole game just crash is past my tolerance threshold. Good night.

Maybe the problem really is confined to -- or focused on -- groups queuing together? I just queued solo for the first time tonight, got a group in a reasonable length of time (<5 minutes, on a healer), and had a smooth run. (PC/NA)

One note: The reward box is emailed to you, rather than simply being looted or otherwise placed in your inventory.

it's the load on the groupfinder, since murkmire and even befor, there where troubles druing primetime. It's fine at seven in the morning on EU now.

Maybe ZoS should check if there's a buffer overflow sumewhere

I can only join the masses and reiterate that:

- Its obviously load related
- Its been a known issue for a long time

Its incomprehensible why you would build an entire highly anticipated event around this broken part of the game when there are so many other ways you could have done an Undaunted event. Incomprehensible.

If this was my business I would be pushing the code red button, stop whatever we are doing and pull any and all resources to get this fixed. Priority #1 company wide! Especially as the level of frustration this bug comes with is massive and it is having a huge impact on your customers and their opinion of you and your game. I would not be too casual about this.

Might as well add my experience:

Waiting 10 minutes while it keeps saying someone declines, even though no one did. Then when we finally get ported into a dungeon, it kicks me out of the dungeon because it says the dungeon is full, the people that got into the dungeon say the dungeon is ALREADY FINISHED? And then we have to re queue, but it says since we left we have to wait 10 minutes to re queue. Awesome night, would buy again 100%.

Same...still happening to the point it locks the game and errors out or log off required. Big oops to build an event around something that DOESNT work...…

Same issues... someone declined, but no one did. Also got to "Forming group" and sat like that at least 5 minutes until I finally gave up and logged out (couldn't leave queue since it was forming).

Also, guild mate queued for Vet and got in... to find himself in Scalecaller with two people well under CP300 (healer was s142, can't recall the other) and incapable of running the content (supposed to be locked in the first place).

This is all very stupid. They should just do the sensible thing; award loot boxes for pledges and let players decide how and with whom to complete them; No buggy group finder needed.
