Why would anybody play a sorc?

Magsorc is stronger at range, and can level its full burst potential on demand. Magblade is more built for haranguing its targets, rather than outright destroying them at range. Half of their toolset is also melee range.

Stam sorc is more suited to hit and run, skirmisher playstyles, and mobility is king when combined with superb passive self healing.

Well I play stamsorc because I was a magsorc and switched when nerfmire hit the pts. I only have one char and didn't want to start over. I pull 41k dps at 600 cp and don't have maelstrom bow or all traits proper yet so it's fine with me. I've also cleared vMA and do pretty solid in many situations.

Sooooo that's why I play it. Also buffs and nerfs are cyclical so at some point ZOS will show it some attention.

1) because I'm not a FotM player.
2) because I've played MMO's long enough to know that every class has their season.
3) because I don't have a need to justify my existence by doing 2% more damage then player X
4) because my epeen is big enough that I don't need to try to convince others it's bigger then it really is.
5) because I'm human.
6) because Canada.

I have 7 characters, I have all classes except a sorc....I think I will create a Stamsorc now with my last character slot

Sorcerers are still my main or co-main characters for:

• Crafting
• Crafting writs
• Buying things from guild traders anywhere in Tamriel
• Buying luxury furnishings
• Doing "crow" -- Bursar of Tributes -- daily quests

In all cases, the reasons can be summarized as "historical".

Because my magsorc is my main and has been for 3 years. Because I cleared almost all the trial hard modes on her. Because I got Flawless Conqueror on her. Because she knows many motifs and has over 25k achievement points. And I just love playing her.

Well, their is a few reason but I will admit as of murkimire their really isnt much reason to play a sorc.

magsorc I liked the burst combo, utility (negates, cc, i can switch up to an aoe style of pvp for bottle neck points, was forced to slot a resto so I also could run some off heals if a zerg was a few healers down)

but magsorc in pvp is pretty dead, critable shields means you need impen and impreg which means loosing shackle (so no same to cc break) and div (and magsorc wasnt doing that great dps wise in pvp anyway)

non magsorc pve, I liked my *** nb clone because of the bigger shield. it meant I could get off tricky res's that nb couldnt. crushing also let me get interrupts and nb isnt doing that. I felt like i was a but more helpful and useful to the group

but with these shields again, im not getting res on anyone. im lucky if I can stay alive

Stamsorc: Ive never really played stamsorc in any tough content. mine is a farmer. but I really think the aoe dot spin to win combo is alot of fun in overland pve

negate tank. its a big group asset in pvp, but the nerf to exchange really hurt it

Stamsorc:
This is still the easiest vMA build. Stam warden might be close, but nothing else is within a country mile. Sure, it's damage lags behind others but it has enough, it's self heals are massive, better than anything else, and it is very mobile. Mobility and self heals are really the the most important thing in there. For similar reasons, stam sorc is also a very strong build for soloing world bosses. It isn't really bad in PVP either especially in aoe groups. In fact, it may be the strongest build there.

Magsorc:
You have to have utility roles in most trials and I think magsorc is BIS for this. It's self heals are now much stronger than mNB, it is ranged, and it can even do some unique things like streak over gaps in the litter box of vMoL or do twilight big self and support heals downstairs of vCR. mSorc also plays the interrupter well when that is necessary as it looses far less dps doing it than mNB. For the record, I think mNB is now massively overrated (and I mained if for 2 years when others thought it was garbage), mNB now does far less dps for me than mSorc though neither are even close to melee builds. mNB took enough of a hit in the last two patchs that I now routinely out dps many of our dedicated mNB straight DD's while doing whatever utility DD role I am doing. That is certainly not the case with me and any of our stam or melee mDK DD's. They always bury me, by a lot. I would ask what is so great about mNB's with their weak ass DOT's, now absence of support heals, weak self heals (if you go low dps to have them at all), and inability to sustain the 100% light attack rotation necessary for their all important proc ability.

Why play any other when you can play a stamsorc or a magsorc? In fact, why copy builds when you have a brain and experience to use? Or why stick on a comfortable class and role and complain about how easy the game is? Or why even consider a meta when there's no line to go "after" in the first place? Ah, so many questions. Actually, I'd rather play.

There really hasnt been a reason to play sorc since Morrowind and now with Murkmire Sorc is absolutely inferior compared to everyone else.

Because my stamsorc is a beast! Not really sure why others like to knock 'em… I've got mag and sorc toons for each class and I feel like its my sorcs that stand out most. Maybe I just "get" the class more.

Cause I like taking X2 5K-10K DPS 10CP+ players into vet DLC content <All of them not just something EZ mode like ICP> and a DK tank/mag NB wouldn't be able to keep them alive...

Go Go 30-40K DPS with the ability to burst heal better than a templar.

Still wish they would fix pets dying though....thats the only thing that can sometimes cause us issues.

I've been playing ESO for just a year now.
Only one toon, a MagBlade that was once a StamBlade that I rerolled.
Now I have created a MagSorc, currently still leveling him, lvl37 at the mo.
Having alot of fun using new abilities I never used before.
After I get him to lvl50, might create another toon and go for a tank build for veteran dungeons.

@tactx how did you go going from mag to stam?? Did you do it on the same character?? I was a 810 CP high elf mag sorc, now changed to stam... i know high elf is not a great stam race but not sure if i should race change or just roll out another. My DPS is ok just feel like there is something missing.
