I talked about class balancing and identity briefly and I would like to talk more about the specific class identity's here, to sum up what I said before, I think the classes suck now because they have lost there original archetypes and all feel the same.

At least in my opinion I think the classes started out with something like the follow, most of these relate to pvp dps roles.

Mageblade
Masters of the shadows, I feel like scouts and bombers are a good role for this. Though I will admit im kind of struggling Identifying If this is how magblades see themselves and would like opinions.

Stam blade
Assassins, quick, unseen, high damage. Gank playstyle

Magsorc
lighting and pure magic mages. battle mage. the ranged magic soldiers

Stam sorc
A type of agile quick up close fighter that overwhelms with speed and agility

Mag dk
Pyromancer, Think this one is self explanatory lol in your face fire magic user

Stam dk
Brawler, 2h and sword and board users

Magplar
This one I dont know if theyve ever really had a solid dps identity. We see them as healers and I think they need one. Personally I like spell sword for magplar. Let me know what you think?

Stamplar
I feel like these are the holy warriors of eso, crusader types. sword and board classic knights 2h as back up.

These are I feel, for the most apart how players want the classes to be focused around. AND remain focused around as we go into the future of eso. And for the love of god... Please do this zos not by changing already existing used skills to make them more centered around this (we absolutely HATE when you change skill functionality). Buff already existing skill in there current form, that reinforce these playstyles.


Pve endgame dps

I feel like this is where class identity runs into problems, Personally I dont see things like the brawler type in pve end game because that style at least in my opinion doesnt pump out enough sustained dps for it. End game dps favors the quick, cast time free rotations. This isnt a bad thing but for classes that are more of a 2h type of build, they need to have dots to keep down and make there cast time attacks not only worth the multiple attacks they could have gotten in without the cast time but to make up for the light or heavy attacks they would have missed out on. Weaving is an important skill and light attacks really up damage output. This support for the 2h builds is missing and needs improvement.

Healers and tanking

This is probably going to be my least popular opinion here. I think templar and dk (I will make an exception to this later) should always be the main end game healers and tanks. Not saying that this should be their only role, templar and dk dps should be welcome to. The templar healer and dk tank are part of the group make up, how you ideally run a trial.You arnt making any class better than them with out robbing templar or dk of core parts of their class and hindering how players have grown to like and run trials. We heavily like this set up. Why are warden healers not popular? For starters you lose out on warhorn for trees, We dont want to lose out on warhorn for trees, its part of the group make up. Healer ARE expected to rn warhorn. Im all for theory crafting, im all for unconventional build. Im still trying to get Pelinal's to work lol Im not saying you 100% cant run a healer or tank on anything else, Im just saying we need to understand we are never going to beat a templar at healing or dk at tanking. That is an ok thing to me and I hope at least some players feel the same.

Wardens, did you think I forgot you?

I feel very bad for players who are heavily invested with warden, you guys were promised a complete class and instead you got a a mess of similarly themed skills to push as a class to sell morrowind. Lets just be honest here, wardens got screwed. They never had a class identity that worked with eso and so yall gravitated towards whatever worked, if zos tries to give you one now it is going to at least upset some of you because it is changing the class, just like watering the other classes down is changing and ruining them for players. Stamden is doing alright, thats because stam has always relied more on weapon skill lines, I have a feeling if you talked to the original developers on eso they would say that weapon skill lines were designed to make up the bulk of stam builds. The weapon skill lines are basically designed as a class of there own and class skill lines for stam are what weapon skill lines are for mag. Magden, you guys got screwed most because mag does heavily rely on class abilities and you have a mix match of similarly themed abilities that dont work together.

if I had to give wardens class identities it would be this

Magden
Needs to be made into a cryomancer dps, this is obvious. Yall have pushed for this for a long time and zos needs to make it happen. also I think warden would make a great magic tank. the skills are already there for it. this will add some variety to the types of warden builds.

Stamden
This is harder because yall have sorta already found an identity between that lies somewhere between a brawler and a stamplar. Changing that is going to make people mad.
What I would like to see is stam being more able to use the nature skills for healing to give eso a stam healer.

Just my thoughts, Ik warden the least well out of all the classes, let me know your thoughts

Shieldplars

Gank overload
