What if there is an addon like this, change the way people do wp-swap?

I am still not familiar with ESO's weapon-swapping combat system...For me,not putting all abilities in one board is a disaster.
Human's muscle memory is a interesting thing, if two abilities share one hot key only brings chaos to our brain.
So, if some one made something like a custom bar.It has 12 slots, you can slot all abilities in one bar ,and set up 12 different hot key for each of them.

For example ,if you are current in the front bar, then you press Q, and Q is a hot key for an abilities in the back bar ,your addon will automatically swap weapon for you and the ability got cast.
This makes DPS much easier

You want an addon to weapon swap...why don't you just keybind (Q?) weapon swap...?

If you can remember to do the one, you can remember to do the other.

You can also double bind skills, so if it feels that odd to you, Bind skills 1-5 to '1-5' and second bind 1-5 to '6-0'

You'll still have to manually swap and swap back, but perhaps this would give you the 1-10 effect you're looking for.

You can even double bind weapon swap to swap back at the end of it. (Most rotations are going to entail more than a single keypress per skill, regardless, fyi.)

Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

You could probably make an addon like this (or really, an incredibly simple macro where 1-5 are your ability keys, and 6-0 are macroed to barswap-ability-barswap).

It won't be pleasant, though. If you run into any of the MANY conditions that prohibit barswapping (attempt to barswap in a channel/while CCed/lag) you could end up on the wrong bar, but the macro wouldn't react dynamically (i.e. now 6-0 are your frontbar abilities, 1-5 are for the backbar ones! Panic!).

In short...it's possible, but there wouldn't really be an advantage. And lag would bugger it up in almost any situation where you actually need it done quickly and accurately.

Chaos? I've never even heard of someone getting confused by this after playing 5 min with two bars. Don't try to state that as a fact when the vast majority of people have no trouble with it.

Anyway I'm sure it possible, but not enough people need something like this for someone to develop an add-on for it. Much simpler just to learn to barswap.

You could probably make an addon like this
Addons cannot barswap. The API restricts what addons can do, and they cannot initiate any actions such as casting abilities or even barswapping.

(or really, an incredibly simple macro where 1-5 are your ability keys, and 6-0 are macroed to barswap-ability-barswap)
There is the option in the game to bind a specific bar to a hot key. E.g., you can bind [P] to always swap to bar 1 and [L] to always swap to bar 2. If you are on bar 2 and press [P], you'll be swapping to bar 1, but if you already are on bar 1 and press [P], it does nothing. E.g., if you want to always hit the third ability on the first bar, you'll hit [P]-[3], and hitting the fourth ability on the second bar will be [L]-[4]. Of course, it would be highly inefficient and just a bad idea in general, but I suppose that's the least of the OP's worries.

I kinda figured but wasn't sure.

Yeah, that would be a better way to set it up--but it would still be bad lol.

Honestly, your best bet is to just spend time learning a 5 button setup and watching your ability bar to know what bar you're on (don't look at your character, as often the weapons de-sync from reality and you'll have your resto out on your destro bar, or whatever).

Personally, a mouse with enough buttons for my abilities makes a big difference, as it's all just thumb memory at that point.

2 bar system is trash. Laggy non responsive type trash. Half the time I'm hitting buttons 2-5 times before it reacts. Worst system ever implemented in any major mmo. Hands down.

    I made weapon swap easy.
I just set my mouse Scroll Wheel to swap when I push it right. Push Wheel left, I dodge roll. Super fast and easy.

The only time I get mixed up when hitting two different abilities in the same slot on both bars is when I get thrown into a lag spike and the game "desyncs" my bars, making me unable to work out which bar I'm on at a glance. Otherwise, it's all good.

The problem for me, what I found difficult, was reliably hitting the weapon swap key and then trying to use skills on the back bar when I was still on the front bar.

The simple fix for this was to map the weapon swap to the middle button on my mouse, so I can reliably switch weapons.

I think once you do that, 95% of your problems will be solved. Reliably and accurately switching between weapons is a skill that needs to be mastered. With the stock keybinds, I just wasnt able to do this reliably.

    Eeewwwwww! do NOT want!
One of things I love-LOVE about ESO is the death of the mega-bar of skills (lookin at you LOTRO)
I prefer weapon swapping and watching the movie of my character kicking the ass!
Clean UI thank you, more immersive.

I prefer the right mouse button for weapon swap, and middle mouse wheel for block. and the usual left for attack.
The key swap is set to by default is a terrible choice, no idea why they picked it. You have to use your pinky which is the weakest finger.

I use an add-on that puts a big number 1 or 2 on your screen so you know which bar you are on. But I agree weapon swapping is laggy in this game
