This thing was planned out, start to finish before it ever got announced.

It ends the way that lets ZoS look the best, and you're eating it up.

I really don't care if the was a planned out marketing ploy. Why? Because ZOS is a company that we all seem to have in interest in the product they put out so we want them to make money. No Money, then they stop.

I rather see them do this type of event twice a year with a cool Notable Estate and then offer the furniture in several packs for crowns. Always for a freedom to use new pieces if you wish, or just to use what you can afford. Smart ploy to get more into the Housing scene and maybe make some money off of smaller crown store sales.

I haven't laughed this much in a long time, thank you to every fanboy that has screamed about ZO$ doing such a great thing for the community when in reality, they're just boosting sales because that's all they care about as a company and you people are dumb enough to fall for it.

Making money and doing something nice for the community are not mutually exclusive. In fact, doing something nice for the community is often a great way to make more money in the long term. From a purely financial standpoint something like this could easily be justified even if there were no furniture sales associated with it.

Lets be serious. Whatever number ZOS magically came up with to complete this even is already reached. They most likely set it real low to guarantee it would succeed.

They say as much in the official event FAQ, in fact. They specifically set the target at a number that they felt would be easily achievable. Sure, we could fail to complete it if literally no one bothered, but they made the reasonably safe assumption that, yeah, we'd like a free massive house that looks awesome, thanks.

Um, it's blatantly obvious that every time ANY company does something "nice" for their customers, it's for the purposes of marketing and public relations. That's no surprise. Literally no one is being fooled by that. Not sure why you feel the need to belittle and insult people who are enjoying the freebies. Hope you don't treat your friends that way.

    Marketing ploy?
    Bribery ?
Fake gona get the house anyway scheme?
    Generous gift to the community?
Just something to make the playerbase happy?
Diabolical plan to take over the world?

I don't care what it is or what people want to believe it is.

This event has created excitement and a sense of cooperation in the community, something that has been lacking for a long time.

I was planning on probably buying it anyway. I've even saved crowns for it.
I would be thrilled to get it for free and maybe use the crowns for a furniture pack or two or for something else.

They already have my money so it will be a huge bonus to get for the event and o can use my crowns for other things.

I agree with you about the sense of community. It's been really fun for me, as a relatively new player, to go around with a group to complete the event and have some fun along the way. I've even found a guild to join while the event has been running.

I asked the same question yesterday.

Go to the College of Psijic Ruins, just to the west of the Sload crafting station on Artaeum.
After you go through the front door, look for an open doorway on the right, and go up those stairs.
Go out the door; the portal a few steps in front of you after you go through that door will bring you to the VIlla preview.

I got the achievement on both servers, took some friends on an EU tour and have ported a number of players to Arteum. I've really enjoyed this event.

I visited the PTS today and played with the new FURNITURE LINKING SYSTEM. I've asked for this since the launch of housing, and it makes me super happy. If they give me a new house AND upgraded building tools (not to mention some amazing animation add-ons that have been created by the community) I *might* just get into housing again.

damn right i'm eating it up! i want this house more than any other house they've released. and i'm not willing to allow healthy cynicism to turn into unhealthy pessimism. that's quite off-putting. as a functional sex addict, it would have very sad effects to exude that kind of negative energy. also as a functioning sex addict, i am accustomed to very much enjoying things that i really want being happily given to me ;)

agreed. what, I can be cynical about the reasons behind this event and still be excited for the benefits - like community coming together to help one and other and well.. getting new shinies to play with.

after all.. for profit company kinda needs to keep their customers engaged and excited and if not entirely happy, then at least satisfied - if they want them to keep being customers. which means even if something is done for the benefit of ZoS in the end, doesn't mean we get nothing out of it. quite the contrary, so.. /shrug.

Wow. Someone needs to make a video tour of this house and post it. Maybe it's already done?

But it's a fantastic home, in case some are on the fence about doing the achievement on all your available servers.

I wouldn't say as a kind gesture, I would say to prevent everyone from leaving the game. :D

This is an extreme case, which is very unlikely to happen. Even those whiny crybabies won't stop playing because of the Patch Notes. The event was created for profit and more customers, not to offset a potential loss.

I hope you all know you can visit and see the house for yourself in game on live right now.

Just port to Artaeum, enter the door to the school and take the first turn to the right and up the stairs. Exit through the door at the top of the stairs and enter the portal on the floor. Looks like a little pond.
