    1) The PC is more likely to be free than the TV in my house so it's easier to play ESO whenever I want.

    2) I'd have to start completely from scratch - new characters, none of the collectables, DLC etc. I've earned or bought (including some I couldn't get again like the beta monkey and the scuttler pet), new guilds etc.

    3) I see absolutely no benefit in doing so. Why buy another copy and go through all of the above to play the same game I've already got via a difference machine? If I really wanted to I could hook the PC up to the TV and use a controller and achieve the same effect.

    4) I've just been reminded that our PS4 is short on hard drive space as it is (even with an upgrade) and the last thing it needs is ESO on there as well.

The bold part of this ^^^^, and Add-on's. Why even bother with console? It's still far inferior to PC in pretty much every way imaginable. The only exception is lag. All platforms have that LOL. I think it's still worse on console though.

I've been a PC gamer for 30 years or more, and at my time of life have no interest in getting a console and controller etc, my kind of games are on PC and that's what I'll stick with. Besides, I've seen nothing to suggest that this or any other of my games will look or play better on a different platform.

I won't play ESO on console because I would be concerned about performance. Although, I am definitely considering buying one for single player games!

I do wonder what ZOS plans are for when the new consoles comes out?

That should be a major reason of concern for console players.
Specially since the game relies on the console's online services, which won't last for long after a new console comes out.

That’s not actually the case. The xbox 360 still has online service support. I wager PS3 does as well. The situation isn’t really that much different from the PC/Mac hardware upgrades.

If I had found decent controller support for eso on PC, I may have never switched. No idea how you guys get used to playing with a keyboard & mouse. W a s d had my hand feeling like a lobster claw after gaming for half an hour.

Never figured out how to use an ability, slot gear, find ad ons, while I was on PC. The game was basically graphically good looking but played like straight trash for me. Actually, don’t think I made it out of glenumbra. Transferring to console was the best decision I’ve made for ESO.

I looked for apps to give controller support. That was frustrating as well. If finding and configuring ad ons are anything like that...console doesn’t need it. This isn’t the kind of nonsense I want to do. I just want to play the game.

I have a high end PC. You don't need anything else if you have that. Even a decent mediocre PC is better then a PeasantStation or X-Sox

Edit: I also own a PS4. I prefer playing on my PC.

I use an XBox-1 controller on the PC and it works wonderfully. All I had to do was go into settings and change it to controller and plug it in. I use to be a K & M user for years and years but I don't have the dexterity any longer. Age some times takes things away. Add on's are easy to get and use.. If you're familiar with Google than it's easy.

I am and have always been a PC gamer. I'll date myself here- I played Super Breakout and Tetris on my brother's consoles, back when consoles were the new thing, and I really enjoyed those...but as other types of games developed on them, I noped right out of there and stayed with the PC. I don't own nor have I ever had interest in owning a console. I have absolutely no interest in gaming in front of my TV, plus I really hate controllers for anything besides games of the style of those two I mentioned previously. Being restricted to a controller, with its massively limited buttons? No thank you! I'll take an entire keyboard PLUS a mouse instead, please!

I play on PC and only PC. I had a short run in with xbox but I can't stand playing on a controler, especially in a games like eso where I use half my keaybord. It's mostly the physical stuff - I don't like playig in front of TV, I'm horrible when you give me a controller… In case of eso specifically I don't think I can function without some addons (sue me, I want to be able to track my recepies, see skyshards, have a minimap and actually know what the prices are in guild stores) plus I've seen the UI in consoles and it looks so similiar to the inventory system in skyrim I want to run away.

I heard they added controller support into the base game some time back. It was a bit too little too late for me. ESO was the first PC game I ever really tried to play and it was enough to make me not want to play anything else on PC.

    Xbox here:

    Reasons for not going PC:
Because I’d rather use something for a few years than have to replace the graphics card (or any internal component for that matter) every time a new game comes out.

    Reasons for not going PS4:
Because I want Sony to burn.
    Killzone franchise is ruined.

    Reasons for sticking with Xbox:
    Best controllers
    Best exclusives
Don’t need to change internal components every time a new game is released.

I/We have PC since I was a kid. In 25 year my actual one is the once I built myself from parts. I love PC but the older I get the less noisy with less cable I want. Pretty silent now but still need to get rid of the cables in the future and also upgrade my monitor from 24" Full HD.

Also owning an Xbox One with few games, even tried ESO on that. Hell no. For me that 30 tops FPS is just looks like lagging, even though on PC it definitely dipping under 10 FPS sometimes on console it still feels like a constant lag. IN EVERY SINGLE GAME. Sure probably I can get use to it. There comes the 2nd part which is the mouse + keyboard. Same again, probably I can learn to play on a controller but I just really hate it, not smooth at all. Tried playing the same game on PC and console, I feel like a God when aiming on PC and overall using PC is more superior. Don't like console interface, atleast not on Xbox One, I know they are trying to make it more casual yet useful but just not my taste.

Microsoft is adding mouse + keyboard support to Xbox One + X so might try again with my old wireless peripherals.

Also PC has a lot more benefits, diversity, upgradeable, you can just be alone and enjoy whatever you do without being in someone's way.

Wish we could share account/characters with consoles without buying the game twice, or ok make me buy twice but let me share everything.

Yes there is a USB device which allows use of Keyboard and mouse for PS4.
Includes macros so you can be just like PC. lmao

good one costs as much as the console itself and half the time is out of stock, at least on their official website where it costs roughly $300 rather then $500 pricetag bellow). even cheaper ones are still $100 plus. last but not least - becasue its unofficial, it working with all games, including ESO is not guaranteed.

I have considered cheaper ones but reviews are... not promising.

    Best exclusives subjective
Don’t need to change internal components every time a new game is released.false

    my commentary above in bold.

why false? becasue in part thanks to consoles, games are no longer forcing you to upgrade every time a new game comes out, in part becasue they have to work on console hardware which is, yes - weaker then what you can get with top of the line PC, but the benefit is - you haven't needed top of the line PC's in years now. people do that becasue for whatever reason they want ultra 4k settings, but games look just fine well bellow those, becasue - again, they need to look good on consoles and consoles have lower hardware specs. (one of our home PC's is over 6 years old and even when I bought it, it wasn't top of the line. runs new games just fine, that includes shadow of tomb raider)

as for subjective, well... it IS.

personaly, the only xbox exclusive that I was... kinda maybe interested personaly was Halo franchise and honestly? meh. gears of ware is another one, but latest games are crossplay with PC, so no need to get xbox for that. I do wish I could play gears 2 an 3 but.. meh. playstation on the other hand has a TON of exclusives that interest me and that I enjoyed the heck out of, so... like I said - subjective.

same goes for best controllers. I cannot stand xbox controllers, I find them extremely uncomfortable (a friend gifted me one to use with my PC and just.. ugh, do not like) ps4 controllers fit my hands perfectly and I find them a lot more intuitive to use. people with hands that are larger then mine tend to prefer xbox controllers and that's fair, but it does NOT make them objectively better.

in any case - in the end its all a matter of personal preference. one of the things i forgot to mention in my original post is just how much easier i find communication on PC to be. i don't like getting into voice unless i absolutely have to - I like to be able to listen to voice acting etc, its VERY well done in ESO imo. on PC, I can just type easily and quickly in zone or guild chat. its not nearly as comfortable on a console. some people prefer voice and stay in voice even on PC. that's their preference and that's all there is to it.
