Does VMA need a difficulty increase?

I have never tried or seen gameplay of VMA before as everyone i play with said it was too hard. I decided id finally go for it as i was intrigued by the dw set and i cleared it in 57mins with 9 lives left literally thought to myself after was that it lol i think i got lucky idk i used stamsorc nord cp327 with dw/bow hundings/deathwind/slimecraw.
Alas it gave me 2h not dw RIP

I THINK THE ARENA NEEDS A BUFF TO MAKE IT MORE FULLFILLING TO COMPLETE DO YOU AGREE!

VMA is fine. We do need other difficult solo content.

For many players it essentially is getting a difficulty increase next update. Rebalancing player abilities over time will make content easier or harder. It's old content. Why bother making it harder for people to do for the same rewards it has always given?

If they really want to, they can add a nightmare mode for bragging rights. Mobs hit 20 times harder, resource draining traps all over the place as well as snares, stranglers and a big fiery pit that opens up randomly from time to time and a GIF of Gina giving you the finger when you die.

im only cp317 aswell so i think max cp can probably clear it with a tank the only thing i found was tricky was the poison level its the round that i lost 4 of my lives on while figuring mechanics

no, theres a round (round 8?) that requires people upstairs and downstairs iirc

I'm about to hit vMA again pretty soon, after having my ass handed to me back when I was cp250. I'll try it when I hit cp400, and with a mag toon, so it should be a little easier.

That beign said, I still expect a huge difficulty spike compared to normal stuff, even vet dlc dungeons. I think that one of the things this game lacks the most is difficulty progression, especially for solo content. Everyone can get carried in group content, and you might never know that you are not on par with the difficulty.

So instead of making this difficulty wall even bigger, I would much more prefer that they include a couple new solo content, which could be more difficult than vMA. Perfect setting would be a normal version a little bit easier than vMA and a vet one a little bit harder. Then, players who never dared to hit vMA wall could go in solo content in a more progressive way.

That beign said, I think what makes vMA easy for experieced players is that spawns are always the same. So once you've memorized everything, there is no real challenge left. If ZOS want to make a solo content more difficult, they could just randomize spawn locations which would require players to adapt for each new run.

No, the difficulty for the most part is knowledge of game mechanics and the RNG (#FUFINN).

It's become very easy for some due to power creep and good player skill but still remains a challenge for most mid tier players and is a great training/test place for players trying to improve at the game.

I do think there should be a very low chance drop of some imperfect items in normal mode though as a stepping stone for newer players.

As I keep stating on other posts, we have to think of content in the eye of casual players as well as experience. Maybe adding a "HM" version on Vet for all those who want a harder solo trial (so increase resistance, damage, and health on the NPCs on HM). Maybe even add new mechanics to HM. New skin. New title. Ect.

Adding in perfected gear (with a 1 piece bonus) and a hardmode would be pretty great.

Put in an achievement for doing it naked for the elitists to get, but given that VMA is a gate on getting Maelstrom Weapons, there's absolutely no reason to make it even harder for people who aren't uber geared to finish it.

Alternatively, allow Maelstrom Weapons to drop from normal Maelstrom Arena, which is a much more reasonable challenge for the vast majority of the playerbase.

@Jimmy i did it on vet blind run and thats why i found it to be a bit too easy well it was not easy but after all ive heard about its rep i thought it wud have been nightmarish

@BigBragg TY! I have tanked every dungeon n dlc too so i have a bit of knowledge on what to look out for i would love to try vet trials but not in guild so just pug normals

I will really be super happy to see more VMA-like content in the future, with an increased difficulty eventually

@goldenarcher1 To be fair tho ive completed all dlc dungeons and on vet for some so i have good game experience just never bothered with vma after horrible rumours lol i only had 9 lives left at end tho
