Hi guys,

Interested in what gaming computer and specs you are running ESO on, focussing on desktops, as I'm thinking of acquiring one.

My work could give me a 50% discount for a ‘CAD’ desktop so I got it relative cheap. Prices for GPUs and RAM are just insane in The Netherlands. I might upgrade the RAM to 32GB eventually.

Yeah, my processor is ancient as well. I need to switch to an SSD, though. That's my biggest problem at the moment.

That spec is over-powered for ESO though, the game is poorly optimised so it doesn't really make the most of my PC.

    I have a i5 with a 1070 graphics
    M.2 500 gb ssd

Honestly not really any differance that i can tell in proformance.

The big deal is latency. I dont see any rig helping with that its more a matter of how or who your connected to the internet .

I spent about 1100 at best buy a few months ago. I'm not awesomely tech savvy and I don't care if someone could build what I got for a couple hundred less. I walked in, paid for it, walked out, hooked it up at home and enjoy 60-100 fps everywhere I go. I've never had a gaming rig before so this is one helluva treat.

I am using a laptop. I think you wanted desk top settings correct? At least with me seeing people how they are using older computers, ESO is still running well.

I think the question that you need to ask is if getting an older computer what kind of graphics you want. What is acceptable for one person might not be for you.

My desktop is an Intel i5-4690K, 8GB Ram, AMD RX Vega 56, a couple SSDs, 1TB HDD (because ESO takes up so much space)and a crappy N-rated wireless card. ESO runs fine on it despite being far from the wireless router and having a slow connect speed.

However, the cats won't let me play on it, so I use my laptop which exceeds the desktop specs in everything, but the video card; it's still an AMD R9 570, though.

My rig has some trouble running the game in big cities (I get serious framerate dips) but, to be fair, this rig is five years old and I've just updated it here and there where possible. Not to mention my HDD is almost entirely full and I haven't defragged the drive in a long time.

    OS: Windows 7, 64-bit
    CPU: AMD FX(tm)-8320 Eight-Core Processor (8 CPUs), ~3.5GHz
    RAM: 16GB
    Motherboard: MSI 760GMAP34(FX) MS7641
GPU: MSI GTX 980 (4GB of VRAM)
    HDD: Toshiba DT01ACA200, 2TB

I ran the game with no issue during beta on my laptop which is a 2013 HP Sleekbook with an AMD APU clocking somewhere around 2.1GHz, 6GB of RAM, the integrated GPU being an AMD 8610g with 2GB of VRAM. While I didn't run it on max (like I do on my rig), it did run steady at ~30FPS. I'd guess that most desktops nowadays, at least ones that aren't super cheap, should be able to run the game at lowest at least. However, if you can afford a rig that runs this game on high/ultra, definitely go for it. ESO is definitely the most beautiful MMO on the market and in many ways, its graphics are more beautiful than Skyrim's.
