You get the Alliance Points from your Daily Rewards.
Actual Results:
You accept the rewards, but you don't actually gain any AP.
I discovered this bug accidentally, while waiting for a match to start after having already been ported into the BG arena. Not much to do while waiting, so I decided to check what my daily reward was, and when I accepted it, I received absolutely nothing.
If I had to make a guess at the cause of this bug, I'd guess that BGs has a mechanism in place to suppress AP gains from killing players (since BGs AP is rewarded at the end of a match), and that mechanism is also suppressing other sources of AP as well, such as from Daily Rewards.

- Queue for a Battlegrounds match.
- Accept your Daily Reward while inside Battlegrounds.

✭✭✭✭✭I think I know what causes the bug. Once you queue into BGs, you get the Battlegrounds Deserter Penalty applied, which suppresses all AP gains.
The Deserter Penalty is hidden and you don't see it unless you actually desert, but it's there the entire time until you complete the Battleground. Which means accepting AP Daily Rewards will yield nothing.
@ZOS_BrianWheeler Also, on an unrelated note, I'd like to ask that quest rewards be exempt from the Deserter Penalty as well. I got queued into a BG today that was stuck on "Waiting for Players" for half an hour. Finally, everyone decided to just quit, so I got the Deserter Penalty. While waiting for it to cool down, I noticed that I had a completed BG quest that I forgot to turn in. I turned it in, and noticed that I got no AP from it because of the penalty.
Having the penalty apply for quest turn-ins is silly for two reasons. First, quests often represent things that players could've done prior to receiving the penalty. Second, the penalty isn't that effective because players can just hold onto the quest and turn it in later. (Which I didn't do because I had completely forgotten that AP suppression from the penalty was a thing.) (Or, better yet, don't give deserter penalties to players who quit a BG that's stuck on an infinite "Waiting for Players" mode.)
