Could be interesting assassination mechanic for pvpve in open world zones.

Place bounty on xX420yoloswagXx for 500k at fighters guild bounty board/brotherhood lair.. player is in deshaan.. if you have a bounty on you only those who have accepted the bounty hunt can you blade of woe on you. Option goes away after the bounty is claimed.

Prerequisites bounty hunter fighters guild and blade of woe.

If there is an actual system in place for player bounties it's not griefing.

If no system exist it's absolutely griefing. Nothing stops said player from farming the hell of this player to earn more money from the payee of the Bounty. It's basically down to shady *** because said player is annoyed.

similar concept was planned in beta or preveta but later scrappped.

It would totally be used to grief. The only way it couldnt be is to "opt in or out" of it. I mean, hell yeah it could be fun, but we're still at the point where people
1. Complain about dueling in cities
2. Complain about people standing next to a quest giver
3. Complain about Sorc pets etc

It just wont work the way youre proposing.

I don't see it as a problem but I have to say I find it an odd practice.

Had a bounty on me before and the number of people who will message you asking to stage the kill and split it is kind of funny really. In the end, I had a new member in my guild kill and collect it (it wasn't much only 50k but he was still very new to the game). The second time I had a bounty threatened against me I just laughed it off and started offering to split it with the first person to reply to me. The guy scrapped the idea when 15 or so people spammed chat asking to split.

Personally, I feel like if you want to grief someone you should gank them at a keep over and over till they log out. I've found people don't really make the effort to hunt players down for someone else, they find it easier to just msg and ask to go halves.

I voted for not okay, on the basis that you know that the people who will most enthusiastically post and pursue these writs are exactly the ones you're feeling are harassing you.

And also a certain degree of contriteness in that some people I think were being knobs actually weren't being, and that I fear some degree of knobbishness may have manifested itself in me occasionally being defensive.

There are players who are objectionable, albeit fewer than many of us sometimes think. But they will be the ones who would absolutely make the most use of such a system. So I don't want it.

Edit: grammar: must make less examples of using less instead of fewer. Oh bugger. Somebody post a writ for me as someone who needs hunting down and pwning due to questionable English skillages.

No. OP is speaking of a personal system. Not an in game system. Certainly not something Zos would consider as described.

Trying to figure out what OP does to get harassed. In PvE or PvP I have never been harassed. Yes, I have gotten hate whispers after killing a noob but I ignore them and they move on.

Not worth voting but I doubt this would be considered griefing since who would care or even know of some petty action. People die in Cyrodiil all the time. They would not even know it was due to someone placing a little county on them. Seems pointless.

I don't ;-) but it would be fun anyway! In all of my time since beta, playing over 2 servers, I've made one 'enemy' and I frankly still believe it was down to a misunderstanding.

So nah, I just think it would be fun!

Very much a pointless reply since I did not suggest anyone was asking Zos to and pointed out to go ahead an place your bounties,.

However, without a system in place it is a weak and pitiful bounty system since it would clearly have a limited number of players engaged in it.

I highly agree with this! Combine placing a bounty with the Fighters guild bounty passive and this would be great. Make it similar to a GTA bounty and it can happen anywhere (all zones) But it should not show us the exact position of the player and we have to find them.

Needs to happen. Would be so much fun.

place bounties on people with like an 30 minute timer on them, if they survive the bounty hunt (or kill a certain amount of people) they get the money instead.

I actually think it should be thing , when you die to the same player twice game should ask if you want to place a bounty ... Next player to kill them outside your group gets the revenge message and a bounty paid bonus in Ap and gold from your own pocket

I also think if you enter cyrodil you should choose an alliance faction ,if you play only that allisnce faction it's fine but if you bring another faction into the same campaign your character is marked with a traitors mark and you can be killed from friendly fire too

Is this an actual thing? Do people go this far over loosing fights?

I have always just looked at my playstyle during them to figure out what I did wrong and how I can improve. I suppose paying others to get it done is a solid approach though.
