[Suggestion] Generic Clothes and Outfits

Rhieks

There are many simple clothes ingame that have no armor and no effects. Now that we have the outfit system going, why not make it possible to place them into an outfit? Consuming the item if needed. It could really put them to good use, much more than currently, used by pure RP. Probably placing these into collections upon consumption might overweigh those, but if it's necessary for using in outfits, maybe it's worth trying.

This would personlly save me nearly 30 storage slots if we include disguises too.

That would be good, I am not sure why they didn’t do this when they created the outfit system, there is even a section for clothing at the bottom but of the screen

    I'd love this!

In any game which lets me I like to have alternatives to armour for my characters to wear when they're not in combat (because it can look really out of place if you're chatting to people in a tavern or shopping while wearing full plate, or even leather armour). I do use costumes for that purpose but I like to use the clothing we can find around the world too because some of it looks really nice and totally different to any of the costumes I've got.

I've got several pieces in my characters inventories and there's several others I like but don't tend to carry around because it's not quite worth taking up an inventory slot (gloves for example). If I could convert them into outfit pieces I'd get much more use from them and I'd finally have a reason to have more than 1 outfit. On some of my characters I'm not even using the one outfit, because I craft most my armour and I'm happy with just 1 option for them.

I would definitely like to see some version of this. :) Any time there is a unique "look" in the game, it could unlock as a collectible (or outfit style or whatever) when you pick it up for the first time, so you can safely get rid of it when you're done. I have saved all of my disguises, I often save "stolen" clothing, but in reality I never use them because it is too much of a pain to store in easily accessible inventory.

You'd think the logical part of me would let myself get rid of all these items, but the completionist/collector in me just won't eliminate something that MIGHT be the coolest looking item in the game, lol.

I want this to be a thing, but I don't have faith that ZOS considers it a priority given how this very suggestion was made, supported by players, and thoroughly ignored by devs when the whole Outfit system was on PTS (and onward).

Maybe by 2020 they'll make a half-hearted attempt to implement this basic feature. :(

I've been waiting for ZOS to add the rest of the plainclothes you find around the Justice system to the outfits page, but I really doubt they care enough to do it.

Bump anyways, let's keep badgering them about it.

If you mean the level 1 clothes that you find in back packs etc then i think this is a great idea, they would make really good costumes and its a shame they are not part of the outfitting system as some of them are really nice.

Agreed, it would realy be neat to have all those "civilian clothes" for the outfit system as well.

Of course, one would hope they might also rethink their outfit slot prising... at the current cost, it really is a bad deal compared to other games that offer such outfit options. If the price was less, people might end up spending mopre in the end I reckon... I know I did in another game where one could buy uniform slots...
