It’s truly amazing how a majority of the replies are from PvPers but the poll is heavily weighted in favor of PvE.

Indeed, PVPers are usually quite loud.

Not gonna disagree, but I was wondering why the PvErs are so quiet. Haha.

We might be a loud people but PvP isn’t nearly as scary as this forum would lead you to believe.

It’s like riding Kingda Ka at 6 Flags, the world’s tallest roller coaster. The scariest part it thinking about it beforehand. Once you’re actually committed to riding/playing it’s quite fun until the ride is complete/you lag out.

Probably because the PVPers are rabid dogs and like attacking PVEers? Both literally and on the forums?

Regardless that's all personal preference on whether it's really that scary or not, personally I find it more annoying than scary.

    Rabid dogs? Really? Where?

If you’re in Cyrodiil you’re a PVPer like it or not. Meanwhile most of the posts on this forum are PVErs blaming PVP for everything. Nerf, buff, problem, lag, the weather ... someone eventually blames PVP ... usually totally out of left field (like your post) which is then rebuked by a PVPer in a snarky way (like this post) which leads the group think to say “see ... they are all mean!”

I’ve been PvPing in this game for years. I have yet to see one PVPer have rabies.

    I PvP and PvE.

It's disgusting to me how hard people try to divide the two play styles by saying "people playing PvWhateverVersionIDon'tLike are rude or dumb" followed by all the stupid stereotypes. In my experience it's the hardcore pvpers and pvers, who only play either pve/pvp (never both), that are going around attacking everyone who plays the game differently than them.

Mostly PvP. But I'll run around and do other things with friends, or do new zone content. I'll go farming sometimes. Go do writs sometimes. Occasionally remember to log into all the characters still needing mount training and get that going. Once in a while I'll check achievements I am missing on the one character that I care about that sort of thing on and think about what I might want to knock out, get bored, and then go do something else instead. Maybe go to one of my houses and pretend that I am interested in decorating all nicely like some of our community does, realize I have no knack for this sort of thing, and run off to go kill things instead.

It’s actually quite easy to avoid 95% of the fighting. A significant majority of it is on the center ring.

Delves, for example, are VERY safe if you’re in your factions area. It’s definitely NOT just people yelling at each other while frothing at the mouth.

Invisibility potions are more than enough protection if your goal is just to get skyshards.

Lagging out sucks but come on. Other than being disconnected it’s not that bad. So you die every so often. Oh darn.

Here is the Cyrodiil checklist ...

    - do you have a max speed mount?
    - do you have a way to cloak either by being an nightblade or carrying an invisibility potion?
    - do you have a way to break free likely in the form of immovable potions?

If you can have these 3 things checked off you can survive. Now, if you’re looking to survive a Zerg, you really can’t. All you can do there is hide.

The response I replied to is pure hyperbole and should in no way be looked at as anything other than fear mongering.

I play PVE . Like it or not, the execution of PVP in this game is poor. There are far better examples of it to be found in other games and genres, so I don't waste my time with PVP in ESO.

One thing this thread has made me wonder though. What, if any, is the correct way to write the term? Is it "pve"? or "PvE"? Or "PVE"?

I have seen examples of all three so far. :)

It's most probably because it's true. PvP whining really causes the very most of problems in game.

PvE part mostly goes peaceful and nicely. You don't see very tempted fights where people insult each other, blame others about item sets they use, and eventually cry for nerfs 7/24 when it comes to PvE. Like you said, believe or not.
