It’s truly amazing how a majority of the replies are from PvPers but the poll is heavily weighted in favor of PvE.

Indeed, PVPers are usually quite loud.

Not gonna disagree, but I was wondering why the PvErs are so quiet. Haha.

We might be a loud people but PvP isn’t nearly as scary as this forum would lead you to believe.

It’s like riding Kingda Ka at 6 Flags, the world’s tallest roller coaster. The scariest part it thinking about it beforehand. Once you’re actually committed to riding/playing it’s quite fun until the ride is complete/you lag out.

Probably because the PVPers are rabid dogs and like attacking PVEers? Both literally and on the forums?

Regardless that's all personal preference on whether it's really that scary or not, personally I find it more annoying than scary.

    Rabid dogs? Really? Where?

If you’re in Cyrodiil you’re a PVPer like it or not. Meanwhile most of the posts on this forum are PVErs blaming PVP for everything. Nerf, buff, problem, lag, the weather ... someone eventually blames PVP ... usually totally out of left field (like your post) which is then rebuked by a PVPer in a snarky way (like this post) which leads the group think to say “see ... they are all mean!”

I’ve been PvPing in this game for years. I have yet to see one PVPer have rabies.

I wasn't blaming PVP for anything? But seriously you're just going to ignore all the 'hahah those lame carebears' comments? Not to mention all the PVPers that brag about killing PVEers and then complain when they come for the midyear mayhem?

My Chars are all PvE but they all have ventured into Cyrodiil for basic training and to collect the 2 or 3 'safe' skyshards.

For the Mid-year Mayhem, they go to Cyrodiil to get any freebies that are on offer, for just being there. They are not equipped for fighting and they value life too much, so they do not enter the battlegrounds. Having done that, they head back home.

My main Crafter has got as far as the Imperial City and Sewers but tends to get lost and cannot readily find her way back to base camp. There are no helpful people around to give her directions. She has no problem dealing with the NPC mobs and Bosses, only the enemy players. Nevertheless, she has somehow managed to get all but 3 of IC's Skyshards and most of the ones from her home area.

These days, she only goes to Cyrodiil and IC on shopping trips and to get any freebies. A lady will go to great lengths - risking life, limb and virtue to get those sparkling baubles or that 'must-have' chapeau.

It's not that I haven't done pvp - friends had a guild on a pvp server in WoW, and I not only had toons there, I pvp'd and raided there. But - satband is NOT your friend in pvp, and regardless that, I just wasn't comfortable with it. A year of raids and getting killed (even with the addon that showed me op-fac toons in the area) and I removed myself from there - because by the time I knew an op-fac toon was around I was already dead. Satband lag will get you every time....

Actually, forum topics that touch on anything related to pvp can range from being very scary to extremely obnoxious and a complete waste of time . With very rare exception, forum topics connected with builds, fighting, skills, races, passives, classes, armor, weapons, etc. turn out, in essence, to be another form of 'pvp' .... you know, where weapons and ballista are replaced by words (put-downs, belittlements, name-calling [i.e., noob], LTP comments (insults actually), 'any good ......' or 'only bad .....' etc.).

If you’re in Cyrodiil you’re a PVPer like it or not. .

Which is why I've never stepped foot in Cyro, even though I'd love to explore it, check out the delves, and grab some skyshards.

It’s actually quite easy to avoid 95% of the fighting. A significant majority of it is on the center ring.

Delves, for example, are VERY safe if you’re in your factions area. It’s definitely NOT just people yelling at each other while frothing at the mouth.

Invisibility potions are more than enough protection if your goal is just to get skyshards.

When I went there the first time there was a bunch of people spamming LFG. I followed suite for a bit and finally decided that I was gonna go explore. I needed the dolmens for the achievement so I ran around and grabbed them all, plus some of the delves and easy sky shards in all 3 factions.

I ran into a group of players at a dolmen. Once the dolmen was over we stared at each other for a second and everybody went on their way. I made the entire loop and got killed once within sight of a fort in faction going home.

I went back later and jumped into the fray. It's like an entrée of chaos and lag with a side dish of what-just-happened but less toxicity than you'd expect. In fact, quite a bit less.

After Orsinium/VMA, ZOS started making bad PvE content so I started PvPing. I got tired of the zergs and waiting for a good fight to happen so I stopped PvPing and then BGs came out and now I PvP regularly. Hopefully, ZOS will start making good PvE content again.

    PVP
Actually most of the time it's PvL - Player Vs Lag but I still love it. Well I do PvE to, same as PvP - just for fun. In general it's great but sometimes I really don't like to run in PvE groups because of elitist attitude, so I prefer to solo vet dung than run it with bunch of dou***es. In PvP we all are brothers, level, gear doesn't matter. Even slightest help can be useful, we are focused on the goal and having fun + there is nothing more epic than battle between 100 players that lasts over an hour, where you need to fight for each inch of the ground. This is CYRODIIL! ;)

There is more toxity in trial groups and dungeons in one day then in the 4 years of PvP.
In my opinion it's the PvE'ers attacking PvP for eveything (blaming them for nerfs etc, which is actually @Zos's fault for not being able to do the nerf in PvP and not in PvE which shouldnt be that hard). So far any PvE'ers who actually tried PvP they say.. wow the community is more friendly then i thought and now i really like PvP.

This couldn't be further from truth lol. I have been doing both since launch (my vote says pve because it's always my priority) and i can only laugh at this. In fact, i can easily turn it around and say there's more toxicity in pvp in one day than there has ever been in pve.

I get it when people like pvp. I get it if it's you peeps' own lil dirty world but what i don't get is when pvpers act like cyro is where everyone peacefully fights, congratulates and throw colorful flowers at each other, while it's actually where you'd prolly get cursed and insulted for almost every kill, for the keep you attack, for the keep you don't attack, for the build you use... On and on and on...

But yeah, we are way more toxic in raids against bosses.
