If no necromancer class maybe we could do a bard

    Bard? YES!
    Bard Class??? NO!

Same as I always say on the matter of new classes - it would be no issue for new hands, but very vexing for older players. Both because it would require us to make a -new- character and play through all the content to enjoy the new stuff, train riding, do guilds, etc.; and because it would be rather aggrivating to see a new class that would have been a better fit for an existing character.
And the one thing that could resolve the issue would be class change, which ZOS is on record stating they do not intend to ever do.

Thus... I for one will never support new classes... but instead would -love- to see more skill lines!
And "Bard" would make for such a nifty guild-sized DLC... as I have mentioned before: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/387560/additional-guild-ideas-mk-ii

we need more classes in this game than what we got as the classes get very stale and you end up making the 2 of the same class over and over again just to fit the game

lol this is very true, Ive made stam and mag of every single class, also I have made two different type of mag builds for same class, its old for me now and have to just settle for becoming a meta gamer like everyone else. Its getting tedious as now its a game of changing a few things to meet the new standards and your done, congrats on being the current best you could possibly be, now wait 3 months, rinse and repeat.

It will likely be a few years before another class is added to the game, if ever. I would expect Zos has other things to add in next years expansion and beyond before adding another class. Yes, the reply is they can still add more but that is a doubtful outcome.

Remember that Warden was already in the game from very early on. It was already being worked on years ago.

I agree. Until some sort of class change option is available (preferably an in game shrine reset like with skills and attributes, though a crown store option would still be better than nothing), adding a new class is just a pain for long term players. In the meantime, more guild, world, and weapon skill lines are the way to go and there are still many unexplored options ZOS has available for those skill lines.

The other side of this though, would be if the spell crafting system that was datamined pre-Summerset was actually released and it either turned the game classless or largely negated the impact of the class system. If something like that became the case, ZOS could release new "class" skill lines all the time and everyone would have access to them.

Or three per class, one for each alliance, or one in each armor weight...

But whoever said adding new classes so the ones who already did that have yet to make -more- alts is a good idea? (Only those who have not yet done too many alts I suspect)

I say instead, we need ways to refit new life into existing classes, ways that -everyone- can enjoy, no matter if they are on merely their second alt, or have been playing a dozend or more characters for years!
Which is why I started daydreaming about some way to make this happen, working out a proof of concept layout and posting it in one form or another for quite a while now: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/369966/class-morph-idea-mk-ii ;)

    Exactly.
And the last word I know of from ZOS concering any "class change" is that they were still thinking about alliance change options, but don't ever intend to do class change. So, unless they change their minds... (which might not be very likely, no other MMORPG game I ever played had a class change... admittedly, I have not played all that many... since I seek out games for the background lore, not for the game.)

the good idea of more classes is to eliminate the alt making sprees. gives tons of classes means a metric ton of variety. meaning no best class mantra anymore and a actual skill cap can be presently made.

A true support role with specific buffs that already exist and ones that you could create specifically for this class.

    Fancy yourself a bard ey?
Norion Germain - Telvanni Wizard, Covenant Battle Mage, Mage's Guild Magister, Resident of Daggerfall Overlook, Lord of Tel Galen, Psijic Monk, Antiquarian, Breton Scholar, and Traveler.

WHY? This game isn't built around the Holy Trinity; dedicated Tank, DPS, Heals/support classes. Every game I've played that had a Bard class did even more lackluster DPS than Wardens and couldn't heal a broken fart.
I'm not prejudiced; I hate everyone equally !

And you get Magicka! And you get Magicka! and you get Magicka!

I'm tired of it. I happen to LIKE playing with no magicka sometimes, but that simply is not possible in ESO.

Basically - everybody's a mage. Some use Staves (okay, most), some uses swords, some use bows, some use sharp pointy things, but, ultimately, you're all mages.

I miss not being forced to use magicka abilities, and alchemy and smithing and everything else just so that I can be in the game.

The next class is Necromancer. Bard would just be a warden repeat(including in theme since wardens are storytellers), a few people who are into that would be happy and everyone else would be *meh*. Necromancer is by far the most requested and anticipated class.

So... your idea is to eliminate "alt making sprees" by... forcing people to make more alts through adding a new class they would have to make alts for???
That... makes as much sense as... increase spending to improve your financial situation.

Whereas I... would prefer ways to make -any- characters more diverse, by adding sub-class specializations and guild skill lines that come with eiother-or choices, that can be refitted to both new and existing characters... but makes people -specialize-, so that no matter what class you play, it will get new and interesting skills, and not "go stale"...

As I keep saying... it would be -perfect- for a TG/DB sized DLC! ;)
Possibly set in western skyrim - no idea if the Bards College in Solitude already exists in the second era, but... it would make a good place if the powers that be say it does, yes?
And going from that location... the most plausible trouble would be from the Reach, where the reachmen barbarians live, and its not like we haven't had issues with them already in Bangkorai or the Rift, yes?
Add lots of "classic bard" missions, meaning less fighting and more singing, charming, message-carrying, spying and seducing the occasional princess (or prince)...

Most of meta already are using more general skills (weapon, guild) than class ones. Adding one more skill line only make it worse.
