What's Tamerlin's procced, buffed frag tooltip?

I completely agree. Not to mention the enchant/poison you can get from staff light attacks too. All you lose is a bit of spell-damage, which is more than made up for with the light-attack weaves. Biggest problem though, using staff 'DW-style' is bar-space to fit that destro ability on for your 8%..
And I'm a die-hard DW sorc.. (who died this patch)

Elemental drain for that Destro skill, put it where you USED to put degeneration. Use spell power pots. Done!

@NightbladeMechanics from the man himself: Hey Kena, yes destro staff got a huge buff this patch (light and heavy attacks, 2 slots) but for me I just don't like the playstyle or as others have pointed out have room on my bar for ele drain or force pulse. Sustained damage over time all goes to destro no argument, but with access to minor force buff this patch I still really like the burst potential of dual wield. My insta cast frags tooltip with major sorcery is 19,909 but could go higher with weapon glyph and continuous attacks buffs. Are there higher tooltips out there? Probably, but I like the combo/efficiency of offense and defense that comes with the huge magicka pool. I play solo 80% of the time so for me having a good defense is very important too.

Edit: Then again, my tooltips are all higher than a comparable dual wield setup as well because of a certain other little thing that destro lets you do, which dual wield does not. Someone will likely mention it in this thread. I've been pushing lots of people to make this particular little switch. hehe

Yup, you're right about the poison or glyph. I forgot to mention the increased ease of proccing that on your front bar.
As for bar space, that was always tight on dual wield as well, yet we managed. I dropped entropy and inner light for rune cage and mines a patch or two ago, picking up spell power pots for my buffs. This patch, I dropped mines for ele drain and slotted overload for mines, acceleration, surge, etc. I ended up gaining damage on target via ele drain despite dropping inner light et al.

Ok spill the beans... is it willpower? I got a willpower inferno destro for 9k the other day. It was all I needed to finish my build. Now I'm sitting at a fat 50k mag... just need to nirn my staff and I'll have about 3+k spell damage.

Well you can get willpower swords, so it's not that.
He is likely referring to the fact that the destro light attacks mean that you can run and proc Kena, allowing you to amplify your burst. The cheeky ***

Hi, been a while
I play my sorc with a destro staff this patch just like I played it as dual wield since One Tamriel-ish when I was first shown how dual wield works -- no spammable, low sustain, building for burst. I use spell power pots or place surge on my Overload bar and drop entropy in order to make room for ele drain and end up gaining damage in the end. With ele drain and acceleration, my burst is huge. It's definitely not a damage over time play style like typical destro sorc.
My frag tooltip is currently higher than yours without my spell damage glyph or continuous, and I'm not using inner light or entropy on my main bar. I have something around 42.5k magicka, though, so like you pointed out, my shields are smaller in return for the higher damage. I don't feel a lack of survivability, and you know I'm predominately solo as well. I just have to play accordingly.

Another response! :Yea Kena to each there own on playstyle. I tried Surge on my overload bar, hated it. Tried spell power/crit pots, survivability took a nosedive. Having the burst heal/resource gain from tri pots is something that I'm not will to give up. And whats your tooltip for meteor or DC of smiting? I'm willing to bet its lower than mine since fire staff doesn't buff AOE ults. Now if you're using Soul Assault, Atro, or Overload than yes it buffs everything but I just like using Shooting Star and therefore like having the extra dmg to all my skills across the board. But yea for me this patch the problem hasn't been being able to kill people, that's the easy part lol. The problem has been trying to stay alive 1vX/outnumbered. I also had to drop Harness Magicka so mDKs, other mag sorcs, and mageblades are suddenly a lot tougher 1v1 as well so the extra defense from a 15k Hardened Ward is nice. Cheers
