so digging deep for skill points i revisited gold coast ... and i uncovered RAGE! the very design of the the dark bro quest line pisses me off as it did when it came out. I put this memory in a black box but, now i am just as pissed as I was originally. *** YOU ZOS. the dark brotherhood is not about stealth trying to make it so is insulting that is why the theives guild exists. oh wait you did both at the same time... *** you. and dailies to advance the quest line id rather take ***....which is why i never did this in the first place. Thieves guild is different your are a thief not a *** assassin. I am mostly mad about this because the dark brotherhood was one of the best part about previous elder scrolls games and even when given its own dlc it completely missed the mark imho.

    Your honest opinion sucks.

DB is and always has been about stealth.

Go play Fighter’s guild dailies you brute.

Isn't the difference between the dark brotherhood and thieves guild that one of them kills their targets but both operate from the shadows (ie stealthy)? But I agree that advancing was painful.

Assassins are always stealthy. I dislike stealth gameplay in all games, so I avoided both TG and DB quest lines.

If being an assassin is not about stealth, then what is it about? How else does one sneak up upon your target without being seen, execute them and then slink away into the shadows.

What were you expecting it to be?

Random assasinations are what suck. Having to hunt targets in a circle was boring. GTAV has a similar thing. The target was clearly visible on the mini map. Waiting for the target to be alone or killing him in front of everybody was a cool choice. In ESO I’m like screw it. I’m killing em NOW. Took FOREVER to find them. Boom. Bounty. Just crappy design.

I don't know who the Night Mother is, but she pays me to kill people. My own mother should have loved me so much.

I mean, its not dropping Minotaur heads on people or hunting them in a locked house party. I miss Oblivion's clever Dark Brotherhood.

But my ESO Silencer is the type to murder people if they look at her wrong (or even if they don't) so the "go here, murder 3 people, come back" style quests were perfect.

I just wish that killing someone with the Blade of Woe advanced the DB skill line, even by one point.

In Oblivion the DB questline was heavily stealth orientated, in skyrim... not as much but using stealth helps to avoid getting bounties.

Well, the TG and DB main quest lines are not too far apart in terms of basic concept. The DB quest is about enforcing the tenets.

Yes, assassins should be stealthy and precise. They have other words for people who wade in and take everyone down.

Assassins can be stealthy or not it all depends on the assassination.. If its suppose to be a broadcast thing stealth doesn't work..

Everyone thinks Ninjas and Thieves what if its just a political statement in the open...

Does anyone remember the John Lennon Assassination.. Not stealthy...

I actually really loved the whole Dark Brotherhood DLC. The zone, the quests, the sanctuary and lore... all of it.

The assassination of the emperors family member in Skyrim was not stealthy. Dark brotherhood is an assassin guild. It’s about making the target dead. Stealth is secondary.

What grated on me is the time pressure they put in the thieves guild. The thief’s mission is to be undetected through the most challenging scrutiny. That requires patience and forethought and only acting with deliberation. It’s a player-skill thing. Adding a time pressure only pushes players into ignoring their own skill and trying to skew the game through sets and invis potions and repeatedly abandoning the heist until they get the configuration they want.

In Morrowind (TES 3) we had the Morag Tong. In that faction you would get a writ of assassination. You would rack up a bounty, but then would turn the writ into a guard if you were caught (or wanted to wipe your bounty). No stealth needed in that faction. I think that is what you want. The Dark Brotherhood faction to my knowledge has always been an underground guild as far as I know. What I mean by that, is that it wasn't state sanctioned. You risked jail, or death if caught by a guard.
