Let us switch toons faster straight from the UI!

Pretty much the title

Having to go to the "account screen" everytime - thus facing more loading times - is quite a boring and tedious task.

Please ZOS allows us to switch toons straight from the ui of the currently log character. It will make daily writs/horse feeding etc less tedious.

BDO also have this feature.

We know that loading screens in ESO can be quite troublesome sometimes.

They can't even get the game running right and you want them to add MORE stuff?? I have an SSD so I really don't have to wait that long for loading screens.

Ya....doing writs on all characters on two accounts went from maybe 45 min to 3 hours! Mostly loading screen time:(

I'm getting so I hate to login to get hierlings 2x a day on 15 toons. It's just PAINFUL. I realize it's free stuff and that's good.. but it takes like over 20 minutes 2X a day to do it. Seems like this could go a lot faster.

Faster switching would be nice. For soo many things...

I would not count on it ever happen tho - for one it sounds like they would need to do a lot of coding, for another it does not seem to be something they can make extra profit from... and besides, most of the games internal setups -need- the complete logoff/load to properly switch characters as they are not set up for quick change...

All in all, maybe next game...

I know ESO is well know for not having basic features like underwater swimming, ACTUALLY stair's climb etc. But c'mon this is so basic. We should at least let them know that this is something that community really looking for.

Concerning extra proft, maybe make it ESO+ exclusive them? Just kidding plz ZOS if you ever make it happen don't monetize it, because you know, not everything needs to be monetized.

It would be nice but most likely the code would be a mess and the system would just keep us logging into the same character over and over!

Same from shrine teleporting within same area. Why loading? Ob horseback it's sometimes faster. why does it need to load the same area but not when im on horse. Just put me on that shrine already.

It takes me at least 2-3 minutes to just quit and load each character, then I need to collect the mails which is at least another 40 seconds. 15 toons would take me at least an hour and I have a 6 month old gaming PC and the best internet available to me in Australia.

Try disabling all unneeded addons on characters that just do writs. After I disabled MM, which is by far the biggest offender, as well as combat addons, leaving just those needed for writs, my load screens have been cut dramatically. Also reset MM data every couple of months, since old data can become corrupted and in most cases it becomes irrelevant anyway. I had issues with corrupted old data that prevented me from loading a character, because the loading was so long I got timeout disconnect from server, and after I deleted it it was fixed.

It would be much faster if they fixed there loading issues. Part of that is addons, but not all of it.

This is the reason I only have three. It's irritating to swap but at least I'm not spending all morning doing it like my friend who has ten. TEN. I don't know how or why he does it. Made of stronger stuff, I guess.

Idk what the solution is, but there has got to be a better option than the current scenario.

It's a shame the forums community will band together and scream bloody murder about the advertisement they had, but an idea like this likely won't get a second thought from most players.

If it costs them money, they wont do it.
If it makes them money, they'll always do it, or try to.

Anything that costs the players time is a benefit for Z0$, since time-sinks are profitable.

But they could monetize it...

You're right. I might have been a little too generous with the 20 minute estimate. It probably takes me close to 25-28 minutes to do all 15. I don't collect the materials out of the mail until the end.

yes, yes and mo yes, I have 15 players that do all of the writs including ring and neck, that process of just loading and unloading takes at least an hour, plus hirelings mail. lets end the mindless waiting and get to playing

Well, I have a new monster of a PC (with SSD) and loading times seem quite long compared to other MMOs that I play. So, how much difference does it make on a slower computer? I've just assumed that there's a lot of stuff to load from the server side and that's why it takes so long. Clearly there's room for optimization in this regard, but I'd rather they fix the login problems first before starting to create new ones. Just Tuesday I couldn't log on EU server the whole day. As a paying customer, I find that completely unacceptable.

If that's what it takes for them to implement this, I'd be all for it.

Time sinks within the game are one thing, but time spend looking at load screens is just frustrating. When I'm doing crafting writs I spend more time loading into characters than actually playing. I don't think that's intended.

I don't know if this can be changed though. The very idea didn't even occur to me until now.
If it's possible to change it that has to be the best quality of life change I ever heard of.

BDO style character switching would be great, don't know enough about how it works to know how realistic it is for ESO though.

Not exactly.

Keeping players at a loading screen is actually not profitable for them. It's time the player is not actually playing or buying things from the crown store. Or finding needs to buy things.
Given that they even sell extra character slots and that outfit slots are per-character, it's in their best interest to make character-switching as swift as possible.

It can also require fewer requests from the server.

So it's definitely in their interest, but probably very low priority.
