Got hit for a 17k overload light attack today

Overload currently benefits from light attack buffs, including 40% from empower, 20% from the elegance set, and another 11% from bound arms. Add it up and yeah, you’re taking some serious damage.

I’m pretty sure that’s not intended, and it needs to be fixed.

What are you trying to change exactly? The empower? Without empower or BA my overloads hit anywhere from 8 to 24k on people. It's hard to land and easily counterable, you have to die sometime.

This exactly.
I mean...it's an ult so it's gonna hit hard. When it actually hits. I haven't used it in a while, is it still reflectable? God I hated that. They really do hurt. But so do other ults.

I hit a 19k empowered overload the other day. Dunno what he was wearing, but I wasn't running elegance or bound armaments..
Usually it's around 6k.

You need over 5.6k impen to take no extra dmg from crits (thats not adding major crit dmg buff to the calculation). So u need alot more then 7 pieces impen to take low dmg from a critting overload

To all that are saying it's easily avoidable are forgetting that sorcs have this move called rune cage that goes through block and roll dodge that isn't counterable and does decent damage in of itself. Time that with their execute and it's a bad day. Because of the delay on rune it's very possible to line this all up with no counter play available. I do rune cage and overload on my stam sorc to block builds and it's not hard to pull off.

Funny cuz NB has been nerfed every patch for the past 18 months, no? Yes, granted, alongside buffs, but not always. It seems like sorcerer is always getting tons of good changes, I've never understood it. • Slot a Burst heal ? ( You said you got Hit≠ One shot.)

I agree 100%. Problem is ZOS is to busy listening to child adults cry about sload when the real OP stuff just drifts by.

I hope the people that cry about things like sload they get rocked by these OP overlord light attacks and smile when they take it.

Speaking of, groups in Cyrodiil are literally putting out zone calls for people wearing Sloads. So while we’re fixing up the overloads can we get something done about this finally? I mean come on, you guys were on a decent track when you balanced the monster sets and destro ults, and then what happens? Why the 180? @ZOS_Wrobel

True its a niche build gankers delight. But hey NBs have been bursting people down for two patches now.

OL hits like a truck true, but bar ganking its slow, easily dodged, clunky to get in and out of and a Sorc has no heals on that bar.

Yeah if you build all in for it its brutal. Same with Incap, soul assault or just about anything.

Bitching about Sorcs these days is two years too late.

The sorc must be the favorite class of someone at ZOS with a lot of pull because they have been in need of balancing for quite some time now, and they never seem to get it. The Overload ultimate is ridiculously overpowered when compared to other "ultimates" - has been from the very beginning of the game, and I see no indication that it's going to get fixed any time soon.

As a Stam sorc using a 1 hand shield and two hand I got melted by two sorcs who were ganking together. Even though I got the jump on them, they have their Shields up and my death recap was filled with overloads and executes.

The kicker being, a friendly sorc came out of nowhere and two shot them doing the same s***. So 1vx Sorcerers are all throughout cyrodiil now.

Sigh. You know that Overload was once much more powerful when you had 1000 ultimate points and could use 780 on it and cast a Destro Ult for 213 on top of it?

That Surge once was a heal that was tied to damage done and was nerfed to a flat value just because of Overload crits?

That Overload ganks were a thing way before Summerset, one that was so niche nobody complained about it?

That the only changes Summerset brought was the ridiculous Empower affecting Overload LA?

It’s not Sorc favoritism. It’s just that ZOS decided that class balance wasn’t a topic for Summerset. There is so much overpowered stuff on all classes right now that it’s disingenuous to point your finger towards Sorc - especially when the active forum users that play Sorcs regularly pointed all of this out before Summerset and asked for changes.
