I saw this in another thread, but I didn't want to necro it. Crafters get their regents stacked infinitely saving a lot of space via the eso plus craft bag. Would you pvpers like a pvp bag to store all those siege and repairs? would be some love for pvpers if zos did this

At an earlier point ZOS tried to do that. They allowed siege to stack in your inventory. However they found that it was often bugged and non functional after setting it up, so they scrapped the idea.

The idea of a alliance war bag would possibly avoid that bug. It still is inventory, and the sieges don’t have to stack there, and it doesn’t count against your regular inventory. I’d totally like it and it would make another great ESO+ perk.

currently sieges are the bane of my existence, and it seems that zos has tried it in the past to allow it to stack but it would bug. Being able to pull sieges out of your pvp bag would help counter this bug

Ahh yes. the stacking the sieges. In one of the streams that mentioned that its technically difficult because of siege HP and how you cannot stack them if they have different HP values. eg you used one siege and it took dmg... now you cannot stack them cuz they are technically not the same item. <-- this is sort of silly .. why cant you stack newly purchased siege then ?

I understand where you're going with this, but the craft bag works the way it does because all you need to track is an item ID and a count for that item. For siege, however, the way it currently works you need to track the item ID and the hit point count for that particular piece of siege. Thus it couldn't work the same way and would wind up being some arbitrarily-large bag that we could only put siege in. We would need a complete siege redesign to make anything like this work.

If a redesign is necessary to address the siege problem (and I do think there is a problem worthy of a redesign) then I think it would work better to have a single item representing your siege of a certain type, but give that item an arbitrarily high HP count. The way placing siege would work is that for every time you put a siege down, you subtract from the pool of HP equal to one fully-constructed siege. When you pick your siege back up, you re-add the remaining HP to your HP pool for that siege type. Then as far as inventory goes you'd only ever have to carry around one siege (or forward camp or what-have-you) of every type you want to run and the game would only need to track the siege type and the HP pool.

Trading/banking would work in a similar way. You could only place items for trade or in banks in whole-siege HP increments. Any left over would have to remain in your inventory, and when placed it would have the remaining amount of HP given to it. The only issue I can think of off-hand is that you still have to track who owns what siege when it's placed on the ground, but since that's already something they need to track I don't see it being a huge issue that couldn't mesh with this system.

    1. Would be for only ESO+
    2. Can only have 1 or other (not both)
    3. Upgrade banks and other things for houses is taken.
    4. There is no such thing as siege crafting, unlike "crafting bag"

The question is, does anyone want to build sieges and have own pvp skill. To craft siege? Then the answer is yes then propose siege bag after :)

I don't want a bag, I want a cart. The whole "I have 25 flaming oils, 2 forward camps, and 9 ballistas in my backpack" thing is just really nonsensical every time I stop to think about it. Yes, yes, its bigger on the inside, but stiiiiiiiiiiiil.

I would totally subscribe for this, and then proceed to totally abuse it by carrying like 500 of every piece of siege for every possible situation, because really, what else am I going to spend my AP on?

Well, maybe not the iceball trebs, those are pretty useless.

I want reward for the worthy to stack.

A place to store siege weapons would be nice also. Might make it so only unused siege equipment can be placed inside. Or maybe create a new NPC in Cyrodiil that allows storage of siege equipment. He could be near the banker and you would need to visit him to deposit or withdraw equipment. Sell slots just like bank slots are sold.

Why can't they just have a stackable item that functions just like a rewards bag? Click to "open" it, an out pops a siege.
It doesn't need to have an HP bar when it's still just an "Unassembled Battering Ram", so you circumvent that whole problem.

No, because it would never be "packed" again. Just like taking an item out of a Runebox for example. The container itself disappears, leaving only the seige weapon itself.

We already know this is doable from a programming standpoint.

When you pick up the siege from the bag it could become a siege ram etc and that will fill 1 slot in your bag, you could then have it so as an assembled siege can no longer be stored in the bag but sits in your inventory taking up only 1 slot. The rest of the unassembled chill out in the PvP bag.

If you assemble 3 ballista for example they do not return either but fill a slot each.

So you only ever have active siege equipment taking up a slot.

Actually I do want a Siege bag, but I want it to have a cap on how much siege you can carry.

Deploying anti-siege is pointless in this game since everyone can carry a virtually unlimited supply of siege. Having a cap on the amount of siege you can carry would make flipping and holding resources a little bit more important while sieging keeps, and also make destroying siege have a point.

I don't imagine this will be a popular idea, but it bothers me that we can all carry 200 trebuchets in our backpacks each. I honestly have no idea why they are increasing siege damage against other siege in SI when it is so pointless to destroy siege.

Solvable (without a major overhaul) via stackable containers (see above)

Alternatively: an item that functions like Glass Motif Fragments

i.e. Battering Ram Parts (stacks to 200)
Combine 10 parts to create a Battering Ram.

The issue it solves is that having 10 Trebuchets doesn't take up 10 inventory slots.
