O.o but told my therapist I was antisocial. This will be another talk.

Kidding 100% introvert, but idk like understanding people though need to run away from people on occasion.

    ...

If you use video game forums to discuss a game,
you are more of a socializer in that community than a large% of it

Only thing that makes sense, bought eso to explore. ESO offers the best freedom for this.
    ...

Agreed, ESO offers a wonderful world to explore that still holds charm to visit years after initial launch :)

How do you feel about game mechanics, experimenting with builds, and testing how things work?
"Explorer" in this context means both looking for all the nooks and crannies of every map
but it also refers to figuring out the hows and whys of the game's functioning

So many options! I have 5 healers and every support set in the game. Only game I stay this long was Pokemon. ESO has all I need. I often fall back or more in love.

    You are 73% Explorer
    What Bartle says:

♠ Explorers delight in having the game expose its internal machinations to them. They try progressively esoteric actions in wild, out-of-the-way places, looking for interesting features (ie. bugs) and figuring out how things work. Scoring points may be necessary to enter some next phase of exploration, but it's tedious, and anyone with half a brain can do it. Killing is quicker, and might be a constructive exercise in its own right, but it causes too much hassle in the long run if the deceased return to seek retribution. Socialising can be informative as a source of new ideas to try out, but most of what people say is irrelevant or old hat. The real fun comes only from discovery, and making the most complete set of maps in existence.

    You are 93% Achiever
    What Bartle says:

♦ Achievers regard points-gathering and rising in levels as their main goal, and all is ultimately subserviant to this. Exploration is necessary only to find new sources of treasure, or improved ways of wringing points from it. Socialising is a relaxing method of discovering what other players know about the business of accumulating points, that their knowledge can be applied to the task of gaining riches. Killing is only necessary to eliminate rivals or people who get in the way, or to gain vast amounts of points (if points are awarded for killing other players).

    What Bartle says:

♣ Killers get their kicks from imposing themselves on others. This may be "nice", ie. busybody do-gooding, but few people practice such an approach because the rewards (a warm, cosy inner glow, apparently) aren't very substantial. Much more commonly, people attack other players with a view to killing off their personae (hence the name for this style of play). The more massive the distress caused, the greater the killer's joy at having caused it. Normal points-scoring is usually required so as to become powerful enough to begin causing havoc in earnest, and exploration of a kind is necessary to discover new and ingenious ways to kill people. Even socialising is sometimes worthwhile beyond taunting a recent victim, for example in finding out someone's playing habits, or discussing tactics with fellow killers. They're all just means to an end, though; only in the knowledge that a real person, somewhere, is very upset by what you've just done, yet can themselves do nothing about it, is there any true adrenalin-shooting, juicy fun.

This is funny seeing as I spend 90% of my game time minding my own business and doing solo content.

This is not funny, that is due to the game design, which is not really supporting socializers. I am an SEA type myself and have pretty much no real contacts in the game - a couple of friends, yes, but those I know from other games, not from ESO. ESO is terrible when it comes to make friends and socialize with them. The only "social" form of interaction in this game is to group PvP with them, coop in PvE is very poorly supported in ESO.

Wait... people actually use this? Professionally? I've seen more rigor in a week-old corpse.

Seem to recall doing surveys at the end of the ESO Betas
regarding my playstyle preferences and my feelings on how well the mechanics in ESO served them

Beyond that, it works as an interpretive lens for how the game will be impacted more broadly by implementation of new mechanics or changes

Further look into how the framework is used to balance MMOs:

The test is flawed, there are many questions in which neither option is appealing to me.

I am 80% explorer. Actually its 100%. I love exploring in games and the more areas to explore, the better. I hate running the same content over and over. Its like watching the same movie every day.

I am 47% socializer. Closer to 25%. In life, i am introvert. I find people to be exhausting. In games i prefer to play and interact with a small group of friends of 6-12 when i do choose to play with others which is only half the time.

I am 40% achiever. This is actually near 0%. I am not competitive at all. I could care less about achievements. ESO is the only game i have used achievements in and i only use it to help keep track of what content ive done/havent done as the explorer side doesnt want to miss stuff.

I am 33% killer. My love of hardcore pvp games and the fact that i have over a 50: 1 kill/loss ratio with thousands of kills in EVE would disagree. In fact that is my primary reason for playing that game. The exploration takes a distant second. Here in ESO, i dislike the pvp. I think its really cheesy. So i lack interest in it. PVP has to be done well. I dont pvp for the sake of pvp. I would put this at 75% plus.

It is just not a good test. It stereotypes every gamer as being either/or.

For my liking the test (as linked in op) is, outdated and flawed. At twenty plus years old, the test has not evolved in the way, games, the gaming industry or gamers have.

I see potential flaws as the questions in the test are somewhat yes/no or a/b or otherwise polarised and,as such, cannot give a true picture of the tested player.

    An example;

In an online game, would you rather:

A, Have a sword twice as powerful as any other in game.
B, Be the most feared person in the game?

For this question, my only answer can be neither. That option is not given though. Though there are two answers given, there really is only one option and that is; C, Dominate others.

    Another example;

When playing a video game, is it more fun to:

A, Have the highest score on the list
B, Beat your best friend one-on-one.

Again my answer would be neither. The two options this time really do ask if the tested player would rather dominate or dominate. There is no option to the contrary.

I know! The questions are meant to force a reponse according to a given template (read more here). I just found the questions flawed (IMHO).

Anyway, I did not need that test to tell me I'm more of an adveturer than anything else whilst in game. I already knew it.
