What would you do in this situation?

Someone harasses you by constantly following you, asking those you hang around about you, asking where you are at. and when he follows you, he never leaves.
Have him on ignore, does not help. Support even tells you , you could put him on ignore list but he continues.
You even try changing your @ name cause of this but somehow he knows it is you.

What would you do in this situation..?

I doubt that he can actually do something if you put him on ignore.

He must have you in same guild or friend list with another account then, at least that's the simplest way I can think of to do that tracking work.

But serious thing is, you said he is asking around about you. Does it only involves in-game stuff, or does it includes real life information? If it includes real life information then I suggest take action and try to do something through law.

If it's only about in game stuff... well maybe he is just a creepy roleplayer.
I believe you can avoid him by staying in your in game house and other instances (like dungeons and trials), or even gather evidence and report him

I don't think it's someone on my fl on another account. A friend told me through mail that someone was in The Rift asking about me (I occasionally like to roleplay there) and he was asking people if they seen my @ around or know where I am cause I haven't been there for a while.

I haven't seen him in quite awhile up until recently been seeing him again and started doing it again.

More likely it's his ignore list. Ignore lists get updated automatically when someone changes the @ account name. And unlike friend lists you can't remove yourself from someone's ignore list.

It is a good feature, but it can be abused to track people.

How about you just put the player on ignore, and teleport to a wayshire so the person can't tag along?

That’s creepy AF. Just keep reporting him for harassment if he doesn’t leave you alone; hopefully he’ll receive a warning and back off.

I know it goes without saying, but don’t give out ANY personal information about yourself. Make sure your in-game friends are aware of what’s going on. If you’re solo when he’s following you, maybe try inviting some friends to group up with you and just be there. I was stalked IRL by an ex-friend who wouldn’t take “I’m not interested” for an answer, and he only stopped when he knew that OTHER people knew about his creepy behaviour. It’s a horrible feeling, and I hope you manage to get the issue resolved soon.

I agree with everything Aurielle said. That's incredibly creepy and I'd also keep reporting them. It can't be fun to be in-game when you constantly fear that some creepy dude will start following you again.
I've been through the whole "rename myself, rename my characters, recreate characters with new names" too but thankfully I didn't run into the people I avoid like the plague again. I hope you'll get to enjoy the game soon again as well and that person will be taken care off.

Continue to ignore him and if he keep following you, keep reporting him. What you're describing is harassment. Some of these creeps are extremely persistent, unfortunately. My daughter is still stalked by her crazy ex 12 years after she split with him.

Don't let him ruin your fun and enjoyment with the game. Report the guy, and be just as persistent reporting him as he seems to be in stalking you.

I have a similar problem, but not that bad. Every time this person sees me they walk over and t-bag me for a few minutes. If I move they follow me and do the same thing.

Ignore doesn't work, but when it happens I just go afk and then they are usually gone when I come back.

Do you have friends in common? Or guilds? Or maybe he have some others peoples stalking you and giving him any new informations about you? Or maybe your character appearance is still the same, despite your account and character name change? Or he knows very well your personality and with who you are talking / socializing in game, thus he finds you with that. Or maybe this person has severals accounts and stalk you with a second account.
(I'm not trying to make you more paranoid, just I'm just trying to figure out how he can find you every time). But this is really creepy to act like this. :/

That’s probably an automated response. It has been a long time since I had to report anyone in game for harassment, but I do seem to recall receiving an email encouraging me to place the player on ignore. It might be worth your while to contact customer support directly and explain the situation.

I understand, and that sucks. But I would keep reporting him anyway. Explain that it is an ongoing problem and that putting him on ignore hasn't stopped his harassment. There is no reason why any of us should have to put up with another player persistently stalking us--it sounds like disturbed, obsessive behavior and harassment is against TOS.
