Speedy, invisible farmers....or are they bots/cheaters?

I've noticed a lot of speedy, invisible farmers lately. These farmers stay invisible and move like they are using speed pots at all times. They do not pause to drink a potion or anything, yet they stay invisible and fast at all times.

What are these "farmers" doing to stay invisible and move so fast without popping potions? ...or are they bots who are cheating?

It's my belief that these are cheaters, but I'm looking for a better explanation. I mean, I'd sure like to be able to be invisible and have rapids at all times without using pots or skills. So how are they doing it if they aren't cheating?

I've reported the ones I've seen, but ZOS has done nothing to curtail the issue as far as I can tell. I'm guessing they contact the person I think is cheating and they say they are not, and that's where the issue dies.

Fiords Legacy armor set

(5 items) Reduces the cost and increases the Movement Speed bonus of Sprint by 15%

Jailbreaker armor Set

(5 items) Gain Minor Expedition at all times, increasing your Movement Speed by 10%.

there are also armor sets you can build and make that add speed as well.

there are also skill people can use like rapids for example that increase your speeds.

but there is a speed cap that is set inplace so once you hit that speed cap you cannot go faster.

i hope one day the speed cap will be removed and we can get faster speeds not only in running but also in sneak for everyone.

please just make it so that our speeds are capped ONLY when carrying a scroll

this way we can have REALLY FAST sneak and running speeds that is not causing any trouble at all and allowing us our enjoyment of fast speeds.
please do this:
just make it so when we pick up a scroll we have a Speed CAP and when we put scroll down that Speed CAP is removed and we can speed again.
please do this

They are only invisible as long as no one is watching! But to answer the question, there are various sets and the vampire skill line that boost your speed while you are stealthed, then of course nightblades can stay in stealth pretty much forever.

Invisible like you cant see them or you see them and they are cloaking/sneaking?

as @josiahva said.... might be a nightblade .... i do all my crafting and farming on my magblade and i can cloak for a good long while ( high mag regen ) also some skills in the nightblade toolkit increases your speed

Yeah, double take and concealed weapon makes for fast movement and no bother with trash mobs for the convenient farm. Although sometimes I like to run cowards and fiords on a stamina character when I want to turn around and kill all my trailing trash from time to time.

To expand on the other part, they probably are using the costume from Greenshade, it makes them look invisible but they are not.

Indeed, my stamina Orc runner has the following stats:
-117% sprint cost, i.e. 117 stamina cost/sec while running and +60% to base sprint speed which is 4,20m/sec.

Darkstride 5pcs.
Coward's gear 5 pcs.
Swift Warrior Orc passive, well-fitted, The Tower Sprinter CP, Steed Mundus, medium armor.

So my Orc runs with top speed capped a bit over 6 m/s with almost no cost and 2k stamina regen which means I don't need to use a mount when going from one node to another.
This is given freely by the game so do it for yourself OP instead of reporting decent players to ZOS .

1 - Fijord's is crap, it's Coward's Gear (give major expedition when sprinting)
2 - Player max sprint speed is the same as a lvl 60 horse (without Rapid Maneuver/Major Expedition)
3 - the "invisible" is from the Kollopi tree essence from the Greenshade questline.

For running fast, no. Unless they are exceeding the "Speed Limit."

For being invisible? The real question is WHY do they feel the need to be invisible? These "players" don't move away from me when we work the same areas, I move away from them (that disguise isn't really invisible) However, it is harder to see if they stop for several seconds before harvesting every node, or if they stop at nodes that aren't populated.

I've reported "invisible" famers multiple time and been told "it's just a disguise, not cheating". But then, botting groups that are visible and CLEARLY botting are determined to be "not cheating" when reported. ::shrug::

I know all about the armor sets that can make you run fast for cheap. That's not what I'm witnessing.

When I say "invisible", I mean they are transparent, but not like when you drink and invisibility pot. These guys are transparent, not kinda darker/greyed out. You can see the outline of their toon, but that's it. ......I'm not familiar with the costume from Greenshade. I'll have to look into that.

ok, tyvm for the information. The people I'm talking about appear to be wearing "essence of Kollopi" costume from greenshade.

Again though, these guys are not refreshing their "costume" when they are engaged. They just stay transparent 100% of the time no matter what, even if engaged by a monster.

....and I guess the last question is, why would people bother to gather and use "essence of Kollopi" when it's a one time use item that doesn't do anything other than make you hard to see?.....if they weren't up to something nefarious?

I feel like these guys ARE cheating and this is evidence that they just don't want to get caught. The 'invisibility' that essence of Kollopi doesn't do anything other than make you hard to see.

Stamsorc, hurricane, and you are invis. Rapids plus Darkstride and legacy and you move like lightning, both buffs (minor and major exp) and the speed you get from the sets and you run around see thru with lightning speed and pulsing shock waves lol.

I love it personally. My tall High Elf looking Bosmer is quick as Hell.

Essence of Kollopi (or any disguise) would not need to be refreshed unless they are fighting the specific enemy the disguise is meant to be used against. It will just stay on them all the time.

As for "why", the only thing I can come up with is they are attempting to remain less noticed by players in hopes of getting reported less. Dunno. Maybe?

I think the real question here should be how tf can you tell how fast they're going, and if they are using pots or skills if they're invisible?

this feels very witch hunty against people with characters built just for harvesting and farming. No offense to the OP here, but some of us have crafted characters exactly for this, and its not cheating just because its better.

Great! You can answer the question. Why do legit farmers need to be invisible? How does being invisible make for a better farming build?

Yep, I didn't realize that until I took the essence of Kollopi costume out of Greenshade. Thank your for reply.

While it doesn't increase my speed any, I use darkstride + prisoners for farming; gives me infinisprint and infinite magicka regen while I'm sprinting. Stopping to harvest nodes refills any stam I lost casting retreating maneuvers.

It's actually not a bad healer setup; although my heals aren't necessarily as strong, I can literally just run around the battlefield casting pretty much constant heals while I do so.

As i said above, it is lightning form Sorc ability. It makes you completely transparent but an outline of your body. It grants expedition, major or minor based on the morph i believe.

Interesting that someone noticed.
I use 5x Cowards Set and 5x DarkStride Set when resource node farming.
The reasons should be obvious.

1. You can move from node to node without mount/dismount time, and harvest rapidly
2. Your Stamina is virtually endless, thus allowing you to cover the greatest area in the shortest time

I have a Nightblade character that I use strictly for harvesting. The only skills on their bar are ones that make them fast and/or stealthy. Their gear is also tailored to stealth and speed. Their Champion points are geared toward stealth and speed also. Not a bot or cheater--just an efficient harvester. And I never node steal!

I am out to gather mats--Not fight.....so fast and stealthy. I can harvest right under a hostile NPC and be gone before they know I was there. If I do get detected--They won't catch me:)

The perma-speed is from a set bonus, and I think the invisibility you mention is from a costume that makes one's character transparent. I've seen farmers in Craglorn use it as well, though I never understood why. Is It so that you don't see them going for a node so you take your sweet time, only to have it swooped under your nose?

Nice to know it makes you not aggro mobs, I think I might have it somewhere, going to try it out next time I'm farming

When you said "Speed limit" i couldnt keep myself from imagining a guard putting a bounty and halting you for "going over the speed limit".

You could be orc too for more. Hmm maybe sorc too for more speed.

Probably because it’s a tactic commonly used by gold farmers/bots. Haven’t seen the Kollopi guys in a while, but I did stumble across 30+ stam sorc bots in Auridon tonight. It was sickening.
