I reached level 2 and gave up, it's too boring. ZOS should have provided an unlocked skill line for PTS testers. In the current state, they will receive less feedback about skills than they could.

Sounds like a bit of an obscure way to do it to me. A more logical situation would be for there to be considerably more rifts around Tamriel, and have them all available at all times, but still only need 9 (or less) to actually gain a rank. Then you could just find them as you're exploring, like the MG books, or you could use the maps to target a specific group.

100% agreeance. Would like to see them be randomized or at least set plentifully around the world like MG books.

I wasn't going to do it, then I decided I would try. I spent an hour doing the main quest story line because someone said it was attached to that. I still don't know where the Psijic part starts on its own. I didn't pay that much attention to the quest dialogue because I wanted to save it for live gameplay. So in summation I'm lost and I haven't even unlocked the skill line.

The Psijic skill line gets unlocked fairly early during the main quest. Check your journal for quests under 'guild' and see if you have the Psijic one there. If you do, follow that as it's the start of it.

In relation to all the other guild lines. This one is easy. You can level it in a day; which i should add is better than the undaunted grind. It's better than the dolman grind for fighters guild. It's easier than then the book grind for mages guild. OMG please don't start arguing over the new stuff till you have gotten the old stuff fixed.

If anything you can say on the tedious scale this one is very nice.

I wish we could have unlocked this skill line on our templates, so I could test them while avoiding the story.

You literally don’t have to do much of the story at all to level the skill line. To me, that is the problem. It is literally a bunch of grinding of “go do” quests. It is boring as heck. The story does not level your skill line. I wish it did.

I've found it monotonous and uninteresting. Honestly, I expected something more...like the TG, for reasons others have mentioned above.

I dunno, I guess I'm surprised by the lack of engaging content in levelling the Psijic line, since ZOS seems determined to find new ways to keep players logging in and hooked on playing as long as possible. And yet, the things that keep me (and I assume many others) hooked is the excitement of adventure, knowing we’ll find something unexpected and unknown. Unfortunately, repeating the same task over and over ad infinitum for the Psijic Order doesn’t fit that bill for me at all. I doubt I’ll bother with it when it goes live unless there’s some skill I feel is necessary for my build(s).

Also, while I realize it's likely geared to new players as a way of introducing them to all the other zones and their side-quests, I still think there should be more Psijic related story lines, NPC interactions, intrigue etc. to make it feel like it's a skill tree worth earning. Given how mysterious and prestigious the Psijic Order has been in the lore and games for years, it's a bit funny to me that it takes more skill to become a thief or assassin. Just saying... :p

It's a boring grind that has no excitement to it when you are a veteran player, way too many rifts and its literally just pressing E on them. As a new player sure it will get you exploring around the world but you don't even get the benefit of reading an interesting story like with MG grind, or an engaging challenge like TG or DB to not get caught. It needs to be more engaging to players new and old. I mean the skull blabbing was a cute touch, but not enough to carry interest in continuing the skill line grind. I will be doing this skill lin pretty much just on my main and that will probably be all I can bear.

After giving the skill quest a try, I can say the following based on my experience:
    - was frustrating trying to access the skillline in the first place. Unsure if Raz's quest lead me to the questline or the main quest instead. Compared to other guild lines, the new guild line isn't intuitive from the start.
    - Once I got to the Psijic order location, I was even more frustrated to find I had no access to the skilline despite running through different areas. I know the quest has some reasoning, but for newer players it felt tedious compared to the other guilds where you instantly access the skilline despite needing to grind location based items to extend the guild rank.

It would be cool if they did the following:
    - instantly gain mage skilline once you reach Arteum and complete the sequence with the NPCs there.
    - move the skull dude out of the dungeon and into Arteum. Include his location somewhere in Arteum to promote exploring that island. This will shorten the quest and make it feel less tedious knowing you no longer have to jump through multiple entrances or NPCs.
    - Have the 9 rifts in Summerset count towards EXP for the skilline. This way the effort feels less tedious and more rewarding knowing your time spent finding the rifts is being counted towards your progression (as it should, each mage guild quest fills that meter in addition to finding the books).
    - leave the system as is. But add NPCs, maybe a boss fight after each zone which also adds EXP. I loved the abyssal rift fights; maybe use that system to promote questing with others and give the grind a break in between searching tamriel looking for rifts. I will leave this for the devs, I am unsure of the questline lore but I am sure there is something there that they can use for the boss fights.

I think If they can add little NPC/boss breaks in between each area, they can make it feel less tedious and more substantial. But I agree running around looking for rifts can get old really fast and feel frustrating for players especially if those 9 beginning rifts are needed to access the skilline instead of counting towards EXP for leveling the skilline.

This quest line is just pure time waster, and it's going to be even worse for a new player starting in Summerset with no wayshrine known in most of these zones and no knowledge of where/what they all are, or that most are hidden and really need some knowledge of the areas to find.

Had to do this 1 step, then do other things, as the template characters do not know more than 1 wayshrine per zone and even with prior knowledge of every zone it still takes far to long per map

Also the areas that the 'E' appears in and you can use the 'Skull' are a bit too large...

I created a new character and it was going really slowly since I didn't have wayshrine's open or houses and hadn't even been to those zones. I finally got them finished today (although I can't use them since I have no skill points). It was really boring and I'm not sure I would want to do that on more than one character.

I went through all the breach closing quests on a new character. I will agree with the sentiment of this thread that I was hoping for a more involved questline. However, even on a new character, I finished the quests quickly; as long as I didn't start chasing squirrels lol. I imagine that the quests will go by much faster, with a character from live, now that I have done it once.

These quests to find time breaches are an improvement over trying to find lorebooks, skyshards, and the treasure from treasure maps. I like using the psijic map and then using my map to guess the locations. It was easy, but a little tedious. Generally, after finding a breach, I would open up the Psijic map and then mark the location on my map. Too easy.

I suggest designing something like the Clairvoyance spell from Skyrim. It traced a path to your next goal. I would have one for quests, one for lorebooks, one for skyshards, etc. This would negate the need for addons that show players the location and it would maintain the exploration part of the game.

Just got to the final quest, (I think) of the pjiic line....is it completed? Got to final room, (again, I think) the throne room, and main character is frozen, stopping me from finishing the Skill line..all that travel with a newborn character, was in fact Tedious, but since it was a new char figured it would help getting all the way shrines, but was halted in my quest(sad face)...I use two of the skills, and one passive on a Templar...they work as advertised...imbuibe weapon seem fun..esp on an archer, or char type that uses a ton of light attacks. The passive for a blocking DS is not new, but I assume it stacks with other blocking DSs, also fun..and time stop, will be great in cryodel

It's a little tedious, as a couple breaches took me awhile to find. However, it's about as tedious to level as mage's guild, and by launch there will probably be an addon that marks them.

A few positive comments for balance since we all seem to be overwhelmingly dumping all over the grind.

    Things I liked:
    1. The talking skull (Bob to me): Great voice acting and script with good humorous banter
    2. Having to do a quest just to join the guild - much better than the trivial way (3 second dialogue) we are accepted into the Mage's, Fighter and Undaunted guilds.
    3. Even though it is a grind, we can control the timing and can get it done in a day or two. Much better than the Undaunted grind where we're limited to just a few things per day to advance it.

Whoever devised the leveling mechanism for this skill line needs to be fired. It is not fun at all. The maps are next to worthless. The "hint" of pressing E to use the Augur of the Obscure could not be more frustrating. The prompt lights up for an area that is far too large for it to be useful and when you do press E, your head lights up in a yellowish glow but it does absolutely nothing to help you find the rifts as they don't light up or generate a quest marker. I just spent 45 minutes trying to find the one at Cath Bedraud in Glenumbra and it is nowhere to be found. I gave up. I will wait for other people to find these things and document them in YouTube videos. I do not have the time to spend several hours to increase this skill line a fraction of a level by hunting down 9 rifts scattered over several zones using worthless maps and a completely unhelpful proximity trigger. The AP grind to Grand Overlord is nowhere near as frustrating or boring or as maddening as this grind and I'm just trying to go from level 1 to level 2.

The number of rifts needs to be cut from 9 to 3. The maps need to be completely overhauled, such as reducing them to a single zone and making the maps detailed instead of the trace outlines they currently are. Then the Augur prompt should actually do something like light up an actual path or turn on a marker or something.

As it stands now, leveling this skill line is going to be HATED by the player base without substantial changes.

Who put the horse simulator lead in charge of a PvE quest line?

On top of the mind numbingly boring ride missions the getting dismounted at the drop of a gnat does not aid this (press E - dismount , leave the area marked on the map - dismount)

Enter a cave, find the tear, no you have entered the wrong dimension (yer I know that this one is supposedly fixed) just not sure I want to spend 9 hours getting back to this point to confirm it

I can see this line going the way of some others unless the meta needs one of the skills!
