Are pledges/Random dungeons timed??

If someone is going for a speed run... Say something... I am all too happy to help someone if their self-worth is dependent on a speed-run through a dungeon.... But SPEAK UP.... ZOS works incredibly hard on providing quality content and why should you want to rush through content that you spent your money on?? I was leading a group through a group dungeon in Craglorn and a group member said to me "I have done this dungeon 100+ times, but I've never seen THIS part..." and another said, "I'm doing this for the first time, and I probably would have had to skip this part..." (I think the fact that there was a chest there helped...)
The bottom line is... your umpteenth time (I've probably done every pledge over 100 times...) is someone else's first... don't rush through the experience... and don't force them to rush through the experience...

As long as we finish the dungeon before the buff runs out from the food that I ate when I got ported in, I'm good. And even then, I always carry more food ...

But I'm not running 10+ alts through dungeons every day like some folks.

I propose that those who don't care about ESO's superlative content and want to rush thru need to SAY SOMETHING... After all... they are forcing the issue... "Rushins" can rush though no problem, those that consume content in a more deliberate thoughtful manner are stuck cleaning up the mess they leave in their wake...

No, 99 out 100 times the group consists of players doing that pledge for the umpteenth time.

99 out 100 players start doing dungeons on normal mode before going to vet.

So ppl doing the dungeons in veteran mode as their first visit to that dungeon is like none.

When we start a dungeon, I ask "Anyone need gear or quest?"

If you need either and don't speak up, that's on you. If you do speak up, I'll wait (assuming I remember where the talking bits are located) and anyone who wants to rush ahead can do without the tank until you and I catch up.

If nobody says anything, yeah, we probably aren't going to stop to look around at the scenery or the out-of-the-way optional bosses on the way through the daily pledge in my experience.

Is that salt or truth?? What other reason than a self-serving one is there?? Before YOUR experience scroll runs out... Before YOUR food buffs run out... So YOU can get YOUR speed run achievement... In group content you think about the whole group's well-being is right??? If you need the XP boost.... don't pull A GROUP through a dungeon... Go find a beach and kill mudcrabs on your own....

If you want to take your time you should play with friends.

If someone is doing the quest, cool. I'll chill. Other than that, I'm pulling everything, nuking it with AOEs and sprinting to the next bunch.

I'm not standing around discussing the architecture and Feng Shui of the dungeon. I got other stuff to do. You shouldn't expect people to wait around for you.

It's a double XP event, I have XP scrolls running. I don't have time to tell you that I have XP scrolls running, that I'm only here for my random daily bonus, and that I will be speed running with or without the rest of the group.

Most people try to kick me from the group, and fail. I always queue with a partner preventing kicks. <3

I am an Xbox transfer who lost 2,400+ hours of progress due to there not being account transfers. IDGAF about anyone else until I get all my CP, gear, and alts back to where they were. I also have a child now, so I no longer have unlimited amounts of time to play. So my time is precious.

I am by no means new to the game and I cannot stand getting in a dungeon and instantly you see that one person just take off, fly by all the mobs (leaving them all coming at the rest of the group) and run straight to boss. If you want to solo the freaking dungeon don't que with 3 other people. Your time is no more valuable than anyone else's.. And you just ruined the entire run for the other 3 people who spend it chasing you through it. This happened in wayrest 1 once, 2 people skipped every single mob and went straight to last boss, me and the other dps KILLED every single mob and still made it to the boss before it was even below 50%. That was a good one. They saved so much time.. Not

It seems too me that people cannot see the difference from a "rusher" and a "griefer", so just too make it so that people understand.

a "rusher" will: Pull everything, kill everything, stand with a boss until grp decides to show up, then kills the boss and continues.

Meanwhile, a "griefer" will look pretty similar too the "rusher" but with one minor exception, the griefer believes he is to great for trash fights, so he will send these too the grp, usually killing boss before the grp has reached him and then rinse repeat until done or kicked.

Please dont take them both under one comb. One is super nice to meet in a dungeon as your sure this will go fast, meanwhile the other one is something out of nightmares.

It seems to me that you are included in that "WE game."

When I run a dungeon, I make a nod to the "we" by asking if anyone needs gear or the quest. If no one answers, I'm going to move at the speed of the group, including if someone wants to rush ahead or try to wait politely if someone is drastically lagging behind. 9/10 times the group moves at a reasonable speed.

If you said nothing and unless I'm being given reason to suspect that you don't know the dungeon - aka screwing up mechanics - I'm not going to move at the pace of "Baby's First Dungeon" without cause.

Bottom line - this "MMO's are WE games, not I games" includes you too. Give me a reason to slow down and I'll be polite and do it within reason. Otherwise, don't expect me to read your mind to know that you want to move slower than the pace the group is setting or that I'm comfortable the group can finish the dungeon - (as a tank, I'm pretty good at figuring how fast the group can kill things and how many mobs I can pull, which definitely changes the speed of the dungeon.)

All I see is a thread in which the OP wants to be combative and address the people he/she views as the problem in their world. People are going to move at their own pace, this game is a 'WE' game, but it is also an 'I' game. It's just a game.

You have bigger problems in the world, get over it.

Usually I ask if anyone is doing a quest. Today I jumped into a normal pledge and noticed I only had about 10 minutes left on my experience scroll. Wanted to turn in the quest before it ran out, so I zerged though it, shielding and ignoring most of the trash mobs. A couple lower-level players kept dying and I felt bad, but I had to get that xp bump:-D Sucks when people probably assume you're selfish, but I did tell them my scroll was about to expire. Maybe I'll have a chance to help them out later.

Doing the speed run & no death achievements in a veteran dungeon requires you to kill all bosses, even the ones that are not required for completion. In the newer DLC dungeons you also have to also kill the mobs, and skipping/running past trash packs invalidate the achievement. Skipping bosses makes sense though if you are just doing the pledge for keys and you aren't interested in armor pieces and unique drops from the sets in that dungeon that drop from those bosses. In some dungeons you can skip even 2 bosses, ex. the dreugh and the crab boss in Fungal Grotto 1.

Thats not salty. That, at most, is tossing some shade at people whose greatest achievements in life are measured on leaderboards and achievement lists in VR. IE: im 37 years old, live with my parents, and man the fryer at mc donalds(for the last 15 years because my mom makes me pay rent) but im in the top 100 of pvpers/raiders in every mmo i play!.

    Salt. Shade. Whatever.

Both of them, whatever you call it, are expressing disdain for anyone who deliberately hurries through dungeons faster than the OP, which is kinda hilarious given that the OP complains about those same speedrunners expressing their disdain for the OP deliberately wanting to run the dungeon slower than they do.

Its almost like the solution is for everyone, fast or slow preferring, to speak up, react politely, and leave the salt/shade out of it.

And that's why I ask if anyone needs quest or gear (a good sign we need to go slow) and if not, proceed at the pace of the group.

That's pretty much the textbook definition of salt. He could've simply said "I'm happy to help anyone who wants to speedrun a dungeon if they speak up" but he chose to formulate it with obvious disapproval for no real reason whatsoever.
