Jewellery Crafting: Pay to win fix.

With the introduction to Jewellery Crafting, and it being locked behind a pay wall, I can see both sides to the argument. I have also come up with some ways ZOS can keep the Jewellery crafting behind a paywall and also have it not be P2W.

As we know, if you buy the summerset chapter you will be able to use the Jewellery crafting station, this means if you don't have Summerset you will not be able to obtain traits other than healthy, robust and arcane for non crafted jewellery, via transmutation, if ZOS was to allow all players to refine, Decon, improve and research their jewellery then this will remove the pay to win feature but keep pay for convenience because you still couldn't buy Shackle Jewellery but can still buy. This allows for the entire player base to be on the same level with any gold jewellery and trait.

You could even make the skill line only available to Summerset so people without the chapter would have a harder time researching the traits, deconning and refining mats as well as not being able to get 100% chance of improving Gold jewellery. This would still give a nudge to buy the chapter (what ZOS wants) as well as changing P2W to Pay for convenience / less gold mats

Maybe at some point it will be added to the base game like Battlegrounds :)

Agreed. Jewelry will be tradable so how is it P2W?

The comical part is some do not even get that jewelry crafting should not be something special and actually has no difference compared to other crafting skil lines. It should be a part of base game. Period. There is no reason to be otherwise.

Yeah, you can trade the crafted jewelry for one.

No you can't transmute BoP sets without owning the chapter, so buy a crafted piece of jewelry instead. Won't work for every situation like if you wanted a heavy set, but wanted the 5 piece bonus of light armor, but that's why you should purchase the chapter.

Regardless though most likely it will be made free in a year or so anyway. Paying for it now just gives you early access to future free content apparently.

Note that you can not access any jewelry station in any way without summerset.
You can only sell raw materials and buy crafted or upgraded overland sets like you can for other gear.
As you can not learn jewelry traits without an crafting station you can not transmute.
Now this gives all access to crafted jewelry and prices for dropped will drop.
Only benefit is that summerset players can farm normal trials and dlc dungeons for jewelry.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Next you'll have to buy an expansion to craft the new Food/Drink that everyone wants.

It's not P2W I'm sure they will be sell able but it sure as hell is pay to stay relevant as a crafter, something that has been and was a pillar of the entire base game. But all leeches that completely and utterly have ignored the entire crafting part of ESO (xXI'm_too_DPS_liiiit_for_any_crafting_dudeXx) and are relying on crafters DGAF. BTW I've found those players to be the most cheap people in the game, but YMMV...

    Pfui.

Maybe not, but you want to make your dropped set gold? Have to buy. Want to make your dropped set a different trait? Have to buy.

If they open up transmute and upgrade from friends then it'll be all good.

What is this pay-to-win BS? If you're counting on crafted or upgraded jewelry making a player better you're in for a rude awakening. Practicing rotation and learning mechanics make you a better player.

Will some of this jewelry be BiS? Probably. Will people want it because it's BiS? Absolutely. But if you're only pulling 20k DPS, can't heal, or hold aggro, it won't make you a better player.

I want to call it p2w, so when I die in pvp I can say its because of p2w corruption of zos and not my skill.

In all seriousness, im fine with how its set up. They put out a lot of content and are working to make the game accesible.

There are at least dozens people in my guilds that would craft stuffs, included jewelry for guild mates for FREE if you provide mats. If you cannot even find one people who willing to do this in your guild or friend list, you need to play with different people.

Oh you mean that thing the majority of players basically do for any and all the crafting lines in the game? MADNESS. Madness and stupidity. Uncle Sheo officially up in the hizzy.

Jewellery crafting is pay to win because if I don't buy Summerset, I can't make my Ebon Jewlery Tri stat, because I can't research the trait, which puts me at a disadvantage

Its $30. Paid content upgrades have been standard in video games pretty much since the invention of MMOS. I'm sorry but game progress should not be held up because a few people dont want to pay $30 once a year for an update.

Its not P2W just because people dont want to pay for it. P2W means you have to continue to pump money in the game on a weekly/bi weekly/ or monthly basis to stay competitive and that amount would exceed a standard $15 sub by magnitudes. That is pay to win. This is just a non free content pack.... like pretty much every other expansion for every other game that ever had an expansion.

well expansions can be considered p2w since you need them to get endgame stuff...so if you don't want them you remain behind...i don't see your point and complaining wont make it better, do you think any1 would buy quest hubs for no reason if EVERYTHING would be added to the base game instead? like sets trials craftings and such? get real man, i for one wouldn't pay 1$ for an area that's offering a handful of quests alone.

But you can buy it off guild traders so you can get it. Not p2w.

Well, if you think that is going to be a huge stat difference from carrying one of each arcane, healthy, and robust ... but carry on with your P2W soapbox.

Have you actually read into the system yet? Even at max level, you will only be able to research 1 trait at a time. Its going to take way longer to learn all the traits then it will to flood the market with available pieces. That combined with the fact that only 2 traits are going to matter, Infused and Harmony, it wont take long for the system to rebalance around the new Jewelry. The only "game changing" effect is that Crafters are going to have a nice market for Infused Julianos and Hundings jewelry for a solid 6 months.

    Its not P2W its P2P.

    PAY TO PLAY

ZOS Developers do hard work which costs money and people that want to participate have to charge money.
    True story.

If you don't want to pay for this then you can't participate. That's called P2P: PAY to PLAY.

We dunno whether that extends to improved jewlery from other sets though.

And if it is just made free in a year (Which we dont know, because ZOS keeps changing it's own buisness model like a rabit on the run) why not just save the trouble and make it a feature now? The holdouts are willing to wait that year, I guarentee it.

Not trying to be hostile, maybe they don't craft because it's insanely boring. I didn't start to craft until late well after I had hit VR16 and to this day I still don't enjoy it. It not exactly fun to run around to different nodes and pick stuff up for hours on end when you could be doing something much more engaging. As to the players being to cheap, just don't craft for them
