I kid you not when I say this, the single most valuable thing I've gotten out of all the boxes I've popped so far is literally dirt (desecrated soil)

All mats have a place, I'm assuming you are not a crafter that helps your guild if you are not interested in Materials. And if you are not a crafter that's probably why you are getting bad rates, crafters with all passives and many motifs learnt have a higher chance, it's like Writs. At least that's how it worked before.

I've opened 24 boxes now total and had 5 worm. Drop rate is crazy high on a master crafter.

You don't need to go to Cyrodiil, it is in theory an easy way to 50 boxes, however PvP is the curve ball and slows you down - ITS DESIGNED THAT WAY. Otherwise everyone would.have easy access to 50 boxes and flood the market with worm etc

Stop whining about PvP in a PvP zone.
2x master crafters opened nearly max boxes on both every day(all writs, all pledges, all guild, all wrothgar bosses and delves, and a bunch of cyro to make up the rest), 4 worm total. So please spare us the theories because they're just not true.

    RNG is RNG that's it.

That said, I'm still pleased with everything I've been given for free.

Huh? I agree on RNG as ive said with all my other threads. But I'm 100% sure i recall something about crafting level affecting drops.

That may be Writs. But many crafters i know are getting a ton, and people spinning up brand new L10 toons to hand in writs are getting blue motifs.

Before getting hostile when im trying to help maybe check your facts as i may be right. If that's not true for this event then it is for Writs vouchers one of the other I'm 100%

Pretty weird the motif drop rate vs locations, when turning in cratfing writs in Riften I got few books, while the same in Mournhold gave me none - just worthless motif stones. I need to return to Riften for more.

I have been running the crafting writs on all 15 of my characters daily. 90 a day for 5 days puts me at a minumum of 450 boxes. Probably closer to 475 with some daily delves sprinkled in. I have probably picked up 50+ motifs. With 10 or so Worm Cult. I have also seen gold mats and a perfect roe coming from my boxes.

And it goes really quick if you dont put any points into crafting for your alts. Keep them at tier 1 and just precraft a ton of gear. The first crafting level writs are limited to 6 total recipes and specific potions and enchantments. You can craft a handful of each on each character and then immediately turn in writs when you pick them up. Far quicker than wasting time in Cyrodil.

14 toons, Daily writs on all = 84 boxes per day. Been doing them since day 1.

My average is 1-2 motif's PER TOON, per day. My drop rate on Worm is a bit low in comparison to some others, but My drop rate on expensive motifs is high...I can easily sell the Armiger set piece duplicates I'm getting and pick up any worm cult motif's I'm missing at the end of the event.

Sounds to me like the OP simply wants X motif, is not into crafting, does not have a ton of alts, and is frustrated because they aren't getting it. That's how RNG works. But the secret is volume, easy volume. doesn't matter if the toon is lvl 1 on all crafts or not (lvl 1 is actually easier to do).

For me I like this event. Many other events I miss out on simply because I don't play those aspects of the game much. I like to craft tho. So I'm perfectly happy getting some rare stuff for once doing what I enjoy. You don't enjoy it, that's fine. But the drop rate is acceptable IMO.

This event is also about celebrating ESO ANNIVERSARY and this is the most GENEROUS event!

Did you read the ESO News page on this website?

Did you see the HINT to READ THE 2ND ED BOOK?

Sorry if you're not a crafter or have Morrowind or Clock Work City!

ZOS IS going to benefit those who SUPPORT THE GROWTH OF THE GAME!!!

Plus for EVERYBODY there is SOMETHING for FREE!!

Personally MY RNG for WC hasn't been great, but I have NO complaints OR worries!!

So what if I don't complete the book?
It might be in the crown store
I'll have to wait until next year
    I can spend my gold

    Bottom line

BE HAPPY WITH WHAT WE ARE GIVEN. ZOS DOESN'T HAVE TO DO IT!!

IT'S A GAME meant to be enjoyed!

If you are interested, of course I would love to have the complete motif!
I know them all but 3!

@ZOS_GinaBruno Thanks to all who have been bringing us ESO AND another great YEAR!!

It’s not free. My time has value.

I LOLed, though, when my sister did a CWC daily and got 20 potatoes.

I did the same daily and got two motif chapters in one box.

Agree with others- I got a pile the first day and the rate has dropped off ever since.

It's the same ole story with all ZOS's events. Players complaining they do not get anything. Face it folks ZOS's RNG sucks. These events are all about farming and keeping players playing. Doing the same content over and over again. In addition, Cyrodiil is PvP not PvE and ZOS should of listened to the players and made questing in that zone separate from PvP. So those of you who go into Cyrodii to do the daily quests, go in at your own risk. If it was not for this event those of you complaining about Cyrodiil would not be there anyways.

If you want to waste your time doing the events don't complain about them later. Maybe playing Ole McDonald's Little Farm song while doing this event will lift your spirits.

No one is forcing you to do the Cyrodiil quests. Even without the event, Cyrodiil towns are hot zones for AP farmers anyways. I guess you just can't please some folks....

I was pleasantly surprised when I opened one of the boxes and it was for the WC chest piece. But I haven't gotten anything since.

Of course, I'm also not farming 100's of boxes like some are so I don't expect to get many.

I did get some other recipes for food and furniture I didn't have before. Also some rare crafting materials.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with the free loot.

Crafting level affect the crafting reward not the even drop. Its so many different dailies. That crafting level should affect is as weird as if pvp level should affect your pvp daily drops.

Pure rng and loot tables is simple, everything else take more work and more testing. Yes the loot table is probably tilted against us as in spell power cure bows beeing so common.

I tend to burn trough crafting on 8 characters first, then do other dailes on them in an second round,
Gotten worm cult on 8th one with no crafting crafting skills after done over 42 dailes in a in short time, the other dailes take longer and i tend to take breaks. On master crafter 6 or something worm so far, only did writs one day because of computer problems.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

This is my third event and the one I think is the most awesome.

    Mindset is key here.

Every day I log in and I do crafting quests and probably an undaunted daily or two. If guildies are on I might do the mages and fighter's guild dailies. These are things I do regardless.

During this event I am rewarded for doing these things with something extra. No one is forcing me to do more of these things, I can choose to do them if I like, or not. Either way, when I do choose to do a daily, I get an extra award.

Let me repeat for clarity. When I do things I probably would do anyway, I get an extra award.

Now these extra awards have some pretty normal things in them, like crafting materials and crafting style stones. Occasionally they'll be something good in them, like higher-end crafting items or rare style stones. I've gotten a few awesome boxes with Kuta or Perfect Roe or potent nirncrux in them and I have also managed to get some stellar boxes with motifs in them.

I'm grateful for every box. Why? Because it's something extra for something I was probably going to do anyway.

This way when RNG bites me in the bottom and I get a stack of maple, five moonstones and two Ta, it's still a stack of maple, five moonstones and two Ta more than I started with, so it is a gift.

And also this way when RNG is gracious and I get a Worm Cult Motif or (in my eyes even better) a furniture recipe I didn't have yet, I'm over the moon.

I understand that it can be frustrating, but I think that comes from expecting or thinking you're guaranteed to get a motif; just be happy over the free box, and then anything inside is a bonus.

Good luck and happy gaming. :)

Other than being salty at my RNG which has always sucked (got one worm cult in first box and none since)...I really have one major issue with event. Zos should either 1. Increase respawn rate (ie Poachers Meat for Masses the animals are extinct or King Chief the prisoners cant be rescued because none are being held) OR 2. Increase the number of the spawns.

I'm getting really pissed off with this event. Putting a really cool motif with a ridiculously low drop rate in is one thing, slapping a timer on it is another. Knowing I only have X many days to try and get the worm cult motif complete is *** torture and extracts all fun from the game and reduces it to a mechanical grind.

Never do this again. Just let people enjoy the event without the anxiety of missing out. Total ***.

    That's called small sample size.

I once had 4 characters in a row have no motif over 6 writs. Otherwise, I feel like I average about 1 motif per 6-10 writs. That is a really rough guess. I feel like it is close to 6 than 10, but I haven't really be keeping track. I do 6 writs for 14 or 15 characters daily except for one day where I didn't even do half. The first day, I had 2 days of writs per character. The OP either is really unlucky or isn't paying attention.
