So, to get 1 motif you need like 200 boxes (more like 2K if you want a worm cult motif) cuz zos like to be jerks with this kind of thing
To get boxes you need to do dalies
Best place to get dailies (after you burn though all your crafting writs, pledges, guild and cwc dailies) is the town quests in cyrodiil
and THERE'S the root of the evil/problem

You force place to choose between having a small chance at getting motifs by charging head first into cyrodiil, finding out there's at least 2 dozen of each enemy faction at every town in every campaign and getting slaughtered over and over for that one streak of 15 mins where they *** off and you can do the missions
OR
Don't get motifs/get motifs at a *** taking bad rate

solution:
Increase the the *** drop rate (or not, cuz I totally need another 3000 Rejera from the boxes, yes...I actually kept count)

RNG can be a pain, but hopefully you will soon get a better run. I have opened far less than 200 boxes and have gotten 2 worm cult and 1 buoyant armiger pages. Those mats can come in handy as well.

Also, there are a lot of dailies not in Cyrodiil. There are dailies in Vvardenfel if you if have access and all the DLC zones if you own them or have ESO+. Here is a good list of the dailies; just note that the infinitely repeatable ones do not reward boxes.

With all those dailies and the ability share some, you can avoid PVP.

Same, and I only actually bothered to run one character, out of 6 that could easily do all the non pvp dailies. But yeah, RNG is the biggest flaw of this game.

Also like the above person said, nobody's forcing you to go into Cyrodiil to do dailies, there are lots elsewhere.

I get at lest 5 motifs out of 30 boxes every day maybe more.

I've opened a few hundred boxes and so far have gotten 4 Buoyant Armiger, 8 or so Worm Cult, 10 or so Silken Ring, 2 or 3 Mora Tong, 1 Redoran, 1 Hlaalu, 2 Dreadhorn, 1 Bloodforge, 1 Apostle, 1 Ebonshdow, a few Ashlander, and a bunch of older ones.

There are a lot of duplicates even in the new set, and a LOT that I already had, but my wife has two accounts, so the extras aren't going to waste.

I've gotten 9-11 motifs each day, doing ~50-60 crafting&PvE dailies. No Cyrodiil /shrug

While Cyrodiil may have the fastest dailies, it's only true if your alliance owns the area.

Therefore, crafting dailies, CwC, and wrothgar are pretty good.

You can also try the town's that don't have flags

ah yes.. the 300+ boxes of low end crafting materials I can't use and nobody will buy, all the while people around me are getting motifs, praxis and high end materials
I kid you not when I say this, the single most valuable thing I've gotten out of all the boxes I've popped so far is literally dirt (desecrated soil)

I am doing daily writs on 9 chars + if I have time some extra dailies. In 3 days I had tons of motifs even duplicates, not cheap ones, got like 6 Worm Cult, loads of materials, I even hit achievements on most of my toons. Countless furnishing plans. Please if you are extremely unlucky keep it for yourself. Don't blame ZOS lol.

Plus you are not forced to go to Cyro. Farm gold instead, buy the motifs, furnishing for super low prices thanks to the event.

I mean... still all I can say is #firstworldproblems. You're still getting free stuff lol. I'm not sure what more ZOS can do short of literally dumping gold into every player's inventory.

That's too bad. I've ONLY done the crafting ones (on all alts) and I've done brilliantly. Made nearly a million in sales and re-stocking materials, plus some new ones to go with some of the motifs.

I hope your luck changes.

Ive gotten exactly 1 WC motif from about 100 something boxes now, but its okay. To be honest I expected this.

I couldnt be online much for the jesters festival, ran only 4 characters a couple days and was showered with 7 dubious recipes.

I knew then, that was RNGs gift to me for this year, and if I got anything better than Ta or lockpicks in my jubilee boxes that I should be grateful

This is my favorite festival just for this reason. Always enjoyed small scale fights in and around villages. That being said I've also seen 10+ people from 3 alliances questing in peace. It all depends on how you approach people.

Go to the town north of Cropsford. There's no flag, less likely to run into the wave battles.

I'm getting massive amounts of motif pages, just nothing that is useful to me personally. I've only got 2 WC motif pages so far. Mostly I am running all 11 characters through writs everyday because it is super fast, so at minimum, 66 boxes a day. I've also done some Cyro dailies and a couple Mages/Fighters/Undaunted dailies. I'm selling off everything I don't need as far as motif pages and furniture plans etc. I've managed to sell quite a bit, which I have turned around and spent most of on the motif pages I need for Dreadhorn, Bloodforge and Morag Tong. Not even going to try to buy WC pages unless I spot one super low. Just crossing my fingers I get a book or something because I otherwise do not see myself completing this motif.

This was actually my favorite part of the event. I was dreading two weeks in PvE grinding dailies on alts. Between battleground dailies and Cyrodiil towns, it's been a good mix of getting some PvP on characters I rarely play and getting rewards.

I did the first one for the cake, and then did my daily dungeon runs for the xp (like 101K, then the 33K xp)

random dungeon =/= pledge. pledges are specific dungeon quests that change daily. you can start picking them at at lvl 45 and they can be done on either normal or vet. its usualy 2 dungeons from original game (one early, on late) and one DLC dungeon.

you actualy literally have to pick up a quest and then turn it in. random dungeons are a completely different animal.

I've done... hmmm... 16 dailies since the start of the festival. yeah, that's not a typo.

I've gotten 1 WC motif, 1 Ancient Orc motif, and four other motifs. And two furnishing plans.

The WC and Ancient Orc actually came in the same box - are the WC ones always extra bonus items?

EDIT: Actually I got only three other motifs. the fourth one was draugr from doing guild quests.
