It would be really nice to have a weapon that could be effectively used at melee range that allowed for regen of Magicka in a similar manner to dual wield. In a similar way it would have melee range mag skills rather than the current option of using a range weapon if you want to play a mag version of your class.

Rather than a new weapon line, how about adding something to an existing tree that converts melee attacks to regen magicka rather than stamina? That way the weapons can stay the same, but when using melee, you regen magicka instead?

Could be in the Light Armor skill line, or even in the class skill lines somewhere. Could be something unique like a morph to a passive skill which already increases the amount of resources you get back on heavy attacks.
