Whips/thrown weapons could be interesting by adding some mid-range combat capability to the melee classes, and would give the opportunity for some really interesting (i.e. flourish-y) animation sequences.

    I don't really have other ideas than spears/poles which falls in 2h. Crossbows/1hand+rune might have their own skill line. well they could work. But what i want to see are the bound weapons or better yet Sword-singer skill line, we know that they are already history in 2nd era but the LoreMaster might have a loop hole around this. Im hoping this comes out on the next expansion since daggerfall is likely to have it next. The Lost Art. also it would be cool if it was a class.
    Spears also would be nice if they have their own skill line, like mid range melee weapons, for a new style of gameplay.(yeah templars have magical spears)
    Also what about instruments? Support skill line, like playing music for buffs during battles, Bards are fun.
    Alright i need to stop. my mind is bursting out too much ideas right now. Im always excited for newer content like this.
    A dragon break is always viable if they break the lore lol.

    I was to see a one handed line with a stam and mag morph for each ability for that spellsword type of gameplay, would also be nice if they added the same option to the dual wield line, maybe by changing its unpopular morphs to mag. Mag weapons could do thing like burning or shock instead of bleed or whatever, base effect does straight mag damage.

    I feel like spear fits into two handed but the weapon type needs to be added, with a focus on quick mid range combat.

    A midevil explosives? For lack of a better word, line might be cool with the ability to use disease, poison, burning etc aoe damage.

    Go a step further with weapon lines and give abilities/passives for each individual weapon. This would give you a chance to expand on frost staves for tanking which is something I'd love to see expanded on. Right now, there is just no reason to frost staff mag tank over s&b stam tank. S&b too far out performs. I've got my fingers crossed so hard for this one thing, that I'll probably have arthritis and be unable to play by the time they ever do implement this.

    Spears are definitely something I've wanted in several games. A 2h with melee and range abilities.

    I also love the idea of throwing glaives... In real life I imagine you'd either have to go get them or keep them on chains, in a videogame I guess they'd just sort of bounce back to you. I don't really imagine this one will happen, but you don't know if you don't try.

    I feel like I saw some chick on summerset conjure a sword and wield magic her other hand, so I definitely wouldn't be surprised if this was in the works. She was a civilian... Noble I think.... Got mad at me trying to pickpocket her.

    Seriously though, thank you all for sharing your ideas for new weapon type/skill line, they're all great ideas. We especially liked knuckle weapons, and the idea of a Magicka-based melee weapon. While we can't promise anything, feedback and suggestions are always greatly appreciated, we love reading them and hope to see more.

    I have a suggestion: Make a sort of hand to hand where you have a new type of equipable sort of thing on fingers range and make the hand to hand a sort of tank set. Also add where you can make people fall on their butts and cause attacks to be reflected.

    Conjuration/bound weapons magicka line. Different effects depending on which weapon is used (similar to the 2h, dw, and destro staff passives)

    Bound bow: increased range of abilities and ranged light and heavy attacks

    Bound 2h weapon: increased damage of abilities and aoe effect on light and heavy attacks

    Bound dual wielding: increased crit chance to abilities and bleed chance on light and heavy attacks

    Bound 1h and shield: reduced block and bash cost and heavy attacks taunt enemies

    Leaving staffs out of this since i was thinking it would be a magicka skill line

    Crossbows could be good - and could, with a bit of imagination, be both Stam and Mag based - e.g. one morph is a poison dart that links back to your Stam pool, whereas the other is a Mag morph that fires an elemental bolt.

    In terms of Mag based melee weapons, I like the idea of an elemental whip - lots of scope there for some neat skills, plus some cool animation.

    Conjuration Magic....

    You can use bound weapons and such to create the "illusion" of melee combat while actually being in melee combat while actually doing damage.

    Seriously...illusion and Conjuration magic are skill lines that SHOULD be part of this game already. They're two very important parts of elder scrolls magic archetypes... I really do not know why either do not already exist...

    Kill two birds with one stone..

    That said I would not mind 1h + Rune or Polearms as actual weapon skill lines...but seriously I WANT MUH CONJURATION BRUH

    Hand weapons like knuckle dusters, tiger claws (for non-kahjiit!) maybe magic rune hand wraps that allow magicka recovery from heavy melee attacks? Or allow us to use the stave as a quarterstaff.

    IMO there needs to be a couple more options at minimum for magicka users. Having one weapon to use is boring.

    I just think its sad that this was not something they could have come up with in the first place. It does not even take a brainstorm session or deep imagination to add this flavor.

    It would also work well for Templars who choose to heal.

    Wands could be another option, although I have always found wands to be boring. That being said, some cool particle effects and in your face wand attacks that are larger than life could give wands a ferocious and intimidating feeling to the enemy.

    -Dual/twohanded crossbow: stamina skills that can be morfed to magicka. Mid range abilities

    -Blood staff: magicka and health based skills. A proper implementation of blood magic. I would be really excited about this and all the possibilities it has. I`d imagine it could focus on damage and even tanking. If we want to make it even more uniqe, it could use a dagger and an offhand weapon. So the character can cat himself while casting spells:)

    -illusion and Conjuration: I think it could use several offhands that gives you different bonuses. For example spellbook, orb, scepter and a main weapon that could be a wand or dagger. The skills should be magicka based and it could be a really good option for melee magicka builds.

    -Necro staff/Cursed staff: roots, dots, summoning undeads and applying debuffs. Finally I could play the magicka nightblade more like a warlock:)

    -Spear: increased melee range and you could throw it away, pulling yourself to the weapon or pulling the enemy to you with it.

    Unarmed (knuckle/cestus) would be awesome! And it could easily be done in a way that both stam and magicka could use it. Think mystic monks for magicka, and burly brawlers for stamina.
