Do people honestly think 30k stam dps is good?

Seen a few complaining threads on people not able to get on even a vmol run, and a bragging thread on not clear vmol and buy a carry.
And every time in those threads, i see someone saying parse like 30k on a stamblade and can't find a guild :D
As a person who only play a tank and a no brain heavy attack petsorc, i personal think 30k on a 6mil parse with eledrain provided is pretty mediocre even for a magsorc.
So the question is, is 30k good for stam dps, or is it not good.

Depends on what your goals are. If you just want to do vet dungeons, I'd say that 30k is fantastic. However, why stop there? A player looking to advance further into endgame should always be looking to improve themselves.

You can clear every single piece of content that this game has with a sustained 30k dps without the need for anyone to carry you. It may not get you to the top of the leaderboards for some content, but that wasn't your question.

So yes, it's perfectly good for 99.99999% of the players in ESO ...

Its good compared to me. I was delighted to finally break 20k DPS, but I won't claim to be a great player by any means.

If the guy getting carried is doing 30k, I'd say that's fine ;)

Nuh man, game is lame AF to be a troll, play a troll tank means you get barely any AP. This game don't have no blue buff for my no mana jungle.

Sustained 30k DPS from an individual is more enough to do every piece of PvE content (difficult mode engaged or not). In other words, just as @SirAndy said. While true that an individual should always seek to improve, to say that 30k sustained DPS is ‘mediocre’ is untrue on numerous accounts. Especially when things such as mechanics are introduced into the circumstance.

Also, let’s not forget the importance of staying alive during said content. You can have 40k+ DPS, but if you’re in need of a constant resurrection? You’re actually a 70k+ DPS loss to the group. Why? Because another DPS has to stop what they’re doing, and go and resurrect you. I’ve met numerous high-DPS players in veteran trials, who may have had pretty numbers when doing “DPS testing”. Yet, they were incredibly squishy and ended-up being a huge detriment to the group.

I certainly hope 30k is good.

Because there's a double-edged sword at play here. To get better requires going through the dungeon for better gear (improving stats).

How else is a person to get above this if they're being ridiculed for "low" DPS?

    Makes no sense to me.

Maybe one day ZOS will make innovative content that isn't just a DPS race. Standing in a blob and DPSing something, then everyone brags about their DPS in group posts, is just boring.

They try. ZOS keeps adding mechanics and MOAR hp to mobs and players keep dps'ing through it. They need to actually sit down and think of an actual solution that stops big dps from being the answer nearly all the time.

There is no double edged sword when you can craft and buy all the gear you need.

Make some damage get increased in skills from things no one used barely and giving either a stam morph or a magic morph. Or add more skills like the pjssic order skilline but that skill is for substain and control skills. I would like to see a shout type skillline. Rework on how shouts do in eso and give out another DPS. Maybe a all stam skill line just like fighters guild but more pve skills.

It was and currently still is done to this very day. Although, the group(s) who attempt it must know all the mechanics quite well. Otherwise, it will be a very slow and tiring experience.

why limit trolling just to tamriel...

always wonder about folks whom might derive satisfaction/fun/pleasure from having a group of strangers surround and beat them repeatedly...

But if it's a group of the same people then after a few weeks they will finally remember and can do it faster. Maybe not chasing leaderboard, but can totally have fun and get gears. So I see no problem when someone wish to join a progression vMoL group with 30k dps. Show them the rope and when they get better you can have more raiders to play with.

I think the Zaan fight in Scalecaller moves somewhat in this direction by having timed, insta-death mechanics which force the players to stop dps and seek shelter.

30k is excellent DPS. Probably better than %90 of players in this game by a fair margin. 2 or 3 DPS in a 4 man normal dungeon with that much burn won’t ever learn anything because they burn straight through the mechanic.

Vet mechanics in this game are cheap one shot bs. Buy a carry. You’ll be happier.

I agree, although in my opinion anything under 700k DPS is mediocre.

    q7rAO5m.jpg

Seriously though, only a small percentage of the games population is pulling more than 30k dps. Most players barely get 10k. Use group finder and you'll see that very quickly.

Exactly. They just keep adding more ridiculousness in which the only solution ever is more DPS/HPS. Scalecaller not only has mobs attacking you but the environment attacks you and dead mobs??? as well. Those hollow red circles put out an incredible amount of damage and does nothing but create an annoyance. Its like they keep pushing extremes but they only push in one direction towards more dps/hps.
