I dont know where this notion of it being connected to mid year mayhem came from, but why would they put it as previewable on the outfit stations six months before they release it?

I am guessing it will be part of the April showcase, as a part of the anniversary event

Because it look like Akaviri motif, and that the only way to get Akaviri motif is by doing PVp ... and Midyear is a PVP event.
